Or by casting from other characters' hitpoints.
Oh, or maybe a vampire/Dhampyr who gets stronger as your Torch goes down. Not just using it to power abilities like the Occultist, but actually getting passive bonuses or something. A character who focuses on getting stronger at the rest of the party's expense, possibly even a huge boost for deliberately sacrificing weaker party members to fuel their insatiable bloodlust...
If it bleeds, we can drink it, apparently.
Either way I'm definitely gonna start over when this comes out.
PD can has face? (apparently it'll be pretty shadowed in the final product still)
New update for the Crimson Court DLC: The Steam page for the Crimson Court is live, meaning you can add the DLC to your wishlist and follow it for updates. No concrete release date yet though.
New screenshot in that update shows giant mosquitoes and people that either have big bug heads or big bug heads growing out of their own heads. Charming.
And here I was already ambivalent about summer time.
June 19th is the release date for Crimson Court. Will include a new hero, a new region, four new bosses, a new faction, and a new wandering boss in the form of the Fanatic.
Nice to have a concrete release date. Very curious on what the bosses are. Looking forward to good old "Bloodborne" times.

Interesting. I imagine he's going to have a bit of a learning curve to play properly.
"The studio said the Flagellant's visual design was inspired by Rorschach from Watchmen, and pro wrestlers like 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior."
...unexpected.
THE BLOOD RED MOOOOON
Do you think the Flagellant's going to have some special interaction from using the Penance Hall, or will he just go the way of the brothel-Vestals and praying Hellions?
I doubt he'll really have anything special to deal with.
I wonder if he'd be especially vulnerable to getting the blood disease due to how he slices himself open all the time.

Of course that's before he went nuts and got ugly.
Ugh, can't wait for next week!
And we are now live. To the Courtyard!
Launch trailer for the Crimson Court:
Ugh, wish I didn't have to do anything this afternoon so that I could play it.
Courtyard definitely offers a much bigger challenge than other dungeons.
- The torch mechanic is altered; the light level is permanently set at Bloodlight (extra stress and less bleed resist); each use of a Torch gives a party +3 to Accuracy until the next battle.
- Vampires can be bled and blighted both.
- The Courtyard itself appears more linear than other dungeons, and it will be an insectophobe's worst nightmare. No kidding; if the enemies don't get to you, the constant mosquito buzzing will.
- A crocotick thing prowls the place; I didn't stay around to see what it could do, but it has a boss-level health and hides itself behind a set of reed; it can move forward (since it starts at the tail of the formation) and buff itself (I presume once it's at the head of the formation, everything in front of it dies) or release a swarm of mosquitos for a party-wide attack.
- Flagellant is weird, and requires a lot of setup to fully utilize him, considering his health is middling at best and that he has no Evasion whatsoever. Two of his abilities are also only usable once he drops below 50% hp. He's packing a lot of bleeds and a lot of redirection abilties both, plus his death's door resistance appears to be higher than the average.

grahSo...if I buy the expansion do I need to start over? How does this effect an old run-through? I'm not convinced at this point that I can ever finish the game, like a year in and still only killed like two bossess.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984From what I've seen, there's an option to simply install the DLC. Crimson Court appears to be a more linear side-campaign, so it can likely be done at any time alongside other things.
grahIf I were in a room with a unconscious mosquito and Hitler while armed with a pistol and two rounds, I'd shoot the mosquito twice.
I honestly don't have a clue. I doubt they'll go with a class that uses the popular coated-and-Nice Hat vampire hunter look, since their aspects are already used by current classes. They might resort to the OG Van Helsing's look if they were to do such a class.
A individual having power from being a vampire is definitely the next logical conclusion. Or perhaps some kind of blood mage? Cast From Hitpoints is definitely a mechanic the game's not used yet.
