Super Sonico The Animation

Episode 7. In which Sonico goes on a trip.

There's really no other way to put it.

She has a bit of trouble waking up. Not exactly news.

I like her carefree attitude to travelling. Though by any reasonable expectations, she should've ended up missing a lot more than she did. But honestly, I'd have preferred a backpack.

This is relaxing, for a Super Sonico episode. It's actually reaching ARIA class here.

I kinda like how there's no rhyme or reason between each episode plot. This time: mystery!

I liked the chibi explanations, especially the sound effects the characters made and that funny boobie-smothering scene. And I liked the twist ending!

Episode 8. In which Sonico is murdered.

I get the feeling I should recognise that blonde maid.

I like Ena. She's fast to change tracks once one has run out. And she's hilariously wrong. Especially the fanservice battle.

One of the times Suzu denied it, she really reminded me of Kyou. Even if her sister has better Hair Intakes.

"Keep sleeping; it's a mystery!" Kind of desperate...

"They're aliens!" Really desperate.

And then the tables are turned on the detective.

The doll dancing in the ED was kinda neat. This is probably the only show I watch the ED every time.

And the actual explanation for it all, actually made sense, and made Ena a lot more reasonable in her reasoning. And suited the story. Guess Ena's cleverer than her sister gives her credit for.

Episode 8:

• "One truth always prevails." It just took a while to get there.
• Teehee, those scenarios were fun. A good detective should have lots of scenarios planned, so Ena got that down perfectly.
• But then ti turned out that Ena was just buying time for the real culprit to escape trouble. Pretty smart and nice, kiddo.^note But detectives aren't supposed to protect culprits! You broke a sacred rule

I probably should have to mention that if you see someone who has tripped and lost consciousness call ambulance.

Episode 9:

This episode starts with Sonico-chan playing Bioshock in another dimension, while her cats fight some obscene bugs and zombies are strolling through her living room. And it only gets more hectic from there on.

We have a school festival, not one, not two but three Sonico's at the same time, Sonico cosplaying as Demon Bane character and Sonico's grandma riding the most adorable little car.

Sonico has some really good friends. They were so helpful.

I almost forgot that Sonico really loves whales and is studying marine biology. Nice to know the anime didn't.

Very good episode.

Episode 9:

• What a trippy dream. Bioshock, zombies, Neko Rangers and Dark Neko Rangers.
• It's a college festival! And Sonico sure was booked. She needed all the support. Awesome friends.
• Demon Bane cosplay, but I don't really know Demon Bane that well. But there was another cosplay that I do know well. Yay, Kurisu!
• Soniclones! But...you could say they were incomplete clones.
• Reira's so .
• I never forgot about Sonico doing Marine Biology. Nice to see it again.

Bioshock! coughs Sonico is waaaaay too nice. At some point, she'll have to learn to say no, especially when her schedule was already tight as it was.

Also, how could we have missed the fact that Granny Sonico named her pub after Led Zeppelin?!?

Episode 9. In which there's more Sonico than ever before.

You know it's a dream when her surroundings are warped and she's still focusing on the game. Or she's just that much of a gamer.

I can change clothes like that while dreaming. If I'm aware of it.

That's what cats actually do. Not always all that pleasant. Kind of odd to see it in a dream sequence of an anime, though. That's not the first place you'd expect any kind of realism.

I wouldn't call those maid uniforms. Waitress uniforms, perhaps, as that's what they are. And the life buoy is ridiculous.

I suppose you could say she looks cold. Though judging from her facial colour, more like the opposite. And I'd think a lot of people in the crowd would go for a different definition of the word. But why are they looking at Suzu and Fuuri? Did they say something so amazing that people just had to look their way?

That's an awesome plan Suzu has. No one will ever be able to spot the difference. I'm pretty sure Sonico can't actually create light with those moves, though... Still, Sonizu is awesome. But she always is, so no news there. I kinda wonder why she had to dress up, though, since there was no requirement for Sonico herself to help out.

And Sonifuu somehow manages to turn her usual glutton into a comedy routine. I must say, I'm kinda glad they didn't have her win the contest. Both because it's a wee bit dishonest to have a doppelganger take the prize, and because she doesn't need to be best at everything. Even if she probably is one of the best looking girls on campus.

And granny saw through the disguise immediately. But what's extra funny is that Suzu got her acting spot on the moment she got nervous. You can't be Sonico without being nervous and awkward at times.

Yeah, learn to say no. They did at least let her off the hook for the café, so they should stick to it. Especially since they knew Sonico had a packed schedule when they did so.

And granny is just that awesome. Was there a mention of it earlier? Because it doesn't feel like news to me, even if I don't remember it specifically.

What was pub name?

I'm guessing they were supposed to use people from their class(or club, I forget) for the cafe, so....Sonizu! Although I doubt anyone would actually call them on it or care. I kinda suspect she just wanted to do that also.

Suzu doing things for giggles? Come on, get real.

Suzu just wanted to do the "power!" thing once.

And it looked like she had a blast saying it repeatedly.

The dream sequence in the beginning was hilarious.

The sea mammal plushies are also very cute.

But those "maid" outfits...kind of hideous.

Sonico was booked...good thing she had friends and Only Six Faces to help her.

Sonico is flustered on stage, but apparently fine talking to a room full of people. Probably because it's about whales.

Two more days of this? Wow...good thing Sonico is always able to get enough rest.

Episode 10. In which there are cats with strangely human behaviours.

Suzu with head cat is adorable. Obviously a scene from the past.

I recognise that girl in the background...

It's kind of rude to leave in the middle of a conversation.

So many inaccuracies... Well, it's an anime.

Overall a cute story you can pretty much see coming all along. I'm not overly fond of the design of the cats, though. Real cats are cuter.

The Kitty Brigade is awesome.

Sonico-chan really likes cats.

Cat focus episode! Cat focus episode!

Sonico just brings home random strays? I hope she vets them right away! (Who am I kidding, cat's don't get sick or carry fleas in idealistic Super Sonicoland anyway.)

Those are some very sociable cats. Most cats would just hiss at a newcomer. And then hide for hours or days. Well, there are free range cat shelters and such, so I suppose cats can get used to having new cats arrive regularly. Especially if they were strays.

I think Rice hates his name.

Unfortunately, Rice is not as sociable as the others.

Lol Sonico presses the wrong alarm clocks first!

Sonico's kitty brigade make such a great team! And I think they take after Suzu.

This may just be the cutest episode of anything ever!!! I mean it! Ending with Sonicat was cute too!

Sonico being a Crazy Cat Lady amuses me to no end.

Everyone having cats draped on them like some sort of feline dali painting was probably the best part of the episode.

If Head Pet didn't already have a good image, I'd suggest this one.

Honestly, I think Super Sonico has been one of the best shows the season, which is pretty good considering most people had no expectations of it, beyond the obvious.

So yeah... Like learning to say no, Sonico has to learn to stop bringing home strays. Crazy cat ladies had started with far FAR less reason than this.

Oh, and one little detail that likely escaped Nitro Plus's notice when they had Sonico take care of cats: where's the litter box?

They cats are using a miniature toilet. Duh.

Im actually surprised at how little fanservice there is.

I am loving this anime. Episode 9 was probably the best so far, with 'Bioshock'', Kitty Rangers, and over-booked fake Sonicos.
