Well, traditionally the mythological Amazons have a bad track record with abandoning their sons. Some stories had their husbands and sons simply living on a separate island, while others ascribed darker practices to them.
Not really relevant to the current conversation, but one thing not often understood about the original Amazon myths is that they were absolutely not intended to be pro-feminist at all; in fact, nearly every time they show up, it's to job to a male hero. The moral of the Amazon stories wasn't "Women can be badass too," it was "Even an entire islandful of badass women are still weaker than one badass man."
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Wasn't it just Heracles, the most badass man?
My various fanfics. They also lost to Achilles and a bunch of other male heroes. Either way the point is the Amazons of myth are never shown winning fights just losing them
Yeah well they weren't the ones stupid enough to wear sandals when the Bly vulnerable part of your body is the heel.
Yeah, I figured the Ancient Greeks weren't very keen on feminist society.
Phantom Stranger is probably like Mr. Mxyzptlk — he's aware of every incarnation he's ever been, and really doesn't give two shits.
Geoff Johns revealed covers for Doomsday Clock #1.
The End is Nigh HERE.
SUPERMAN: This city is afraid of me. I've seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!", and I'll look down, and whisper "No."
Though to be honest, that would probably make just a bit more sense coming out of Batman...

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundYeah, hard to see Superman of all people saying that.
Speaking of Rorschach, anyone here think he might show up in Doomsday Clock?
Apparently one website that featured the Doomsday Clock #1 covers speculated that the guy holding the "End is Here" picket sign might be Rorschach himself.
Another thing, it hit me the other day that the initials for Doomsday Clock are "D.C."
As in DC Comics. Did anyone else notice that or am I just plain dumb?
Unless he's written by Frank Miller.
Or Zack Snyder.
Yeah, no.
1. I can think of at least two occasions where the Justice League members were compared to the very gods of Mount Olympus, but, if the Justice League is apparently to be compared to the powerful Olympian gods then what would the Teen Titans be compared to?
2. In terms of the DC trinity, what do Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman each bring to the table of this team of three?
1. Either many demigod children of said Olympians, since they are like their godlike counterparts except more human. Or, more appropriately, the Titans themselves. Especially seeing how the team have encounter said Titans of Myth multiple times in the Wolfman/Perez comics and one of Donna's retcons involve her being one of the many children chosen to succeed said Titans.
2. I say they The Trinity bring to the table much in a similar fashion of the Power Trio.
- Superman is The Ego/Kirk. He often takes up the leadership position whenever he is in a team. Due to status of being Earth's greatest hero he is person people will look towards to for getting shit done. He always makes decisive decisions as to how they approach a situation. And then there's his catchphrase which sums up his overall take charge personality: "This looks like a job for Superman."
- Batman is obviously The Superego/Spock. He tends to be the more analytical member of the group. He comes up with all the plans when dealing with a threat. And he has a cold calculating personality which tends to make him the least sociable of the three.
- Wonder Woman is The Mc Coy. She is a very empathetical character who cares for all life she encounters. She is also very passionate given the way she fights and slcare for the people around her. She based her decisions on morality rather than logic. And she is not afraid to share her feelings/opinions to her comrads.
Ehhhhhh. There's nothing wrong with that in theory, but in practice I've always felt the Power Trio dynamic is best suited for The Hero and two sidekicks, not for three characters who each headline their own adventures, and had been for decades before Executive Meddling shoved them all into the same universe.
Happy 100 years of Kirby!

I'll just go now...
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundI always liked how the official explanation for Hal Jordan's lack of creativity with the Green Lantern Ring (except when the plot required it) was a lack of imagination.
"Hal Jordan has been accused of a lack of imagination throughout his career, mostly because he has a collection of constructs he likes to fall back on, which includes giant boxing gloves, giant fists, baseball bats, gatling guns and sharks."
The Protomen enhanced my life.Which just makes you wonder why he was given the damn thing in the first place. You have a ring that can conjure up virtually anything in the universe, and the first thing you do is make a giant boxing glove? I'm just saying, maybe the Guardians should have been less concerned with who was the most fearless, (which actually isn't a good thing to be as modern studies have pointed out,) and more with who can make more than five different constructs on a given day.

Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundThe Green Lantern Corps is a paramilitary peacekeeping organization. They want people who are reliable, dependable, can cope well under pressure and can be trusted with an incredibly powerful weapon. Hal, essentially, has the job because he's very good with a gun, not because he has many different kinds of guns.
Kyle Rayner, meanwhile, is very good with every type of gun that has ever existed, including several guns that he just invented right now. That's because Kyle Rayner is the best Green Lantern ever.
My various fanfics.According to at least one story (which was included in that Green Lantern Corps animated film, whose title I forget) the Guardians didn't really intend for the rings to be used to make constructs, that was just something a particularly imaginative Green Lantern figured out that he could do. Having the imagination to make varied constructs wouldn't really inhibit a Lantern's effectiveness, as he could just have the ring do what he wants (zap his enemies, contain stuff, lift stuff, whatever) without shaping the energy into something cool. In the Justice League animated series, John Stewart hardly ever made constructs either, mostly using his ring for power blasts (there was a whole pair of episodes about Katma Tui retraining him to thing more creatively). What the Guardians look for in a Lantern is honesty and courage (not, oddly enough, benevolence, which is how they got Sinestro I imagine) — the whole "without fear" thing has been blown needlessly blown out of proportion, in my opinion. I always just read that qualification as "heroically courageous" rather than not having the capacity for fear (which is just...silly, really). In the end, the constructs are just a visually interesting way for the Lanterns' power to be utilized. In a comic book, or a movie, you can see how that might be a plus.
I really liked the bit in Blackest Night where Kyle temporarily died and was revived and his ring immediately flew back, declared him worthy, and re-admitted him into the Corps. Like, put a sock in it, "he-was-just-chosen-because-he-was-nearby" crowd.

The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
So DC turns the first Wonder Girl into a villain, erases Diana's relationship with the second one and now we have this nonsense with her future son being raised by Superman because Diana supposedly abandoned him
We"ll probably find out that she had a totally good reason to give him up and really loved him in a coup,e of issues.
