The Knife's Shaking the Habitual is probably the strongest album that I have heard this year, in terms of concept and execution, although the new Death Grips LP Government Plates was a hell of a good romp, and that Clipping album was certainly a thing...
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Albums:
Goldfrapp — Tales Of Us
Nine Inch Nails — Hesitation Marks
White Lies — Big TV

MY DANCE MACHINE STARTS TO REACTWelcome to the forums!
What genres do you listen to? I don't recognize any of those names.
That Zealotry album has a song about Mass Effect. Instant win.
And it's pretty nifty musically too.
Somehow you know that the time is right.Albums, in no real order:
- The Drones - I See Seaweed
- Julia Holter - Loud City Song
- Blixa Bargeld & Teho Teardo - Still Smiling
- Dean Blunt - The Redeemer
- Fire! Orchestra - Exit!
- Rob Mazurek - Skull Sessions
- Jon Hopkins - Immunity
- Submerse - Algorithms and Ghosts
- Wardruna - Yggdrasil
- Wayne Shorter - Without a Net
Dunno about songs.
(Thanks!) Most of that list is metal and chiptune, my main two genres. And saisa is post-rock. Glow is VGM and BLANKFIELD is...hardcore/metal fusion?
MY DANCE MACHINE STARTS TO REACTI really ought to get that Dean Blunt album soon. Big Hype Williams guy (love One Nation).
Had not heard about that Blixa Bargeld record, will check it out too.

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.
The lyrics in general are pretty well written, especially the title track. Roman Temin is a fucking genius when it comes to balancing dissonance and melody.
Only Death Is RealTop three albums:
3. Tim Hecker - Virgins (Sometimes I wonder why I like albums that amount to almost an hour of CLANG-CLANK-WHIRR so much. Then I actually put said albums on, and I remember why. And yes, such albums are a thing for me; [[Music/Swans The Seer]] is my album of 2012.)
2. Forest Swords - Engravings (Boards Of Canada meets Asian traditional music meets the aforementioned clang and whirr. Yeah, I like really weird things.)
1. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away (Australian goth-rock hero adopts a quieter, less theatrical sound, and it pays off. Easily my favourite Nick Cave album.)
As for songs:
3. Arcade Fire - Afterlife (Reflektor is AF's weakest album IMHO, but it still has some right gems, and this song is the prime cut. The funky dance influence and their trademark epic sound really work together here.)
2. Goldfrapp - Drew (Again, an established band gives us a spectacular cut from an otherwise by-the-numbers album. This one is more on the eerie, melancholy side.)
1. The Knife - Full of Fire (MIND = BLOWN. That's all I can say.)

Tastes better on the way back down.Um, I'm new here... and, I will say:
Albums: 1. The Bones of What You Believe - CHVRCHES 2. Bounty - iamamiwhoami 3. Pure Heroine - Lorde 4. Matangi - MIA 5. Body Music - Aluna George 6. True Romance - Charli XCX 7. Yeezus - Kanye West 8. Overgrown - James Blake 9. Shaking the Habitual - The Knife 10. BEYONCÉ
Songs: 1. Lorde - "Tennis Court" 2. James Blake - "Retrograde" 3. Sky Ferreira - "You're Not the One" 4. Azealia Banks - "YUNG RAPUNXEL" 5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Sacrilege" 6. Arcade Fire - "Reflektor" 7. Lorde - "Royals" 8. The Knife - "Full of Fire" 9. CHVRCHES - "Recover" 10. Charli XCX - "You (Ha Ha Ha)"
So it's all electro-alt-pop with a little hip hop, rock and r&b thrown in.
