I can only think of one at the moment:

2014 game with the most potential: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Metal Gear Rising had the best soundtrack, bar none.

I liked Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Made me sad, bro.

Honestly, I'd say with the exception of Gameplay, The Last Of Us basically sweeps the awards.

I can't think of any specific category for it, but I think Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix deserves some form of praise for finally getting Kingdom Hearts Final Mix to not-Japan.

Best rerelease?

As for the game with most potential, imma gonna hand it to my most anticipated game. Watch Dogs.

And Metal Gear Rising Revengeance easily takes the Best Soundtrack award.

Game I'm most looking forward to in 2014? Probably Transistor.

Naughty Dog's Last of Us kicked ass this year. I'd say they win everything but best gameplay and best soundtrack.

The 2014 Game with Most Potential is to hard to pick, since next year will be amazing. Watch Dogs, MGS 5, Destiny, Dark Souls 2, Infamous: Second Son, Witcher 3, Dying Light, Murdered: Soul Suspect, The Order: 1886, Drakengard 3, Everquest Next, Broken Age, Pillars of Eternity, a shit load of other awesome Kickstarter funded games (even if some of them don't do great, at least a few certainly will), all those Telltale titles/episodes, and I'm probably missing a hundred other awesome games.

I gotta give it to Ground Zeroes for most anticipated. Love me some MGS.

Forgot to add in Smash Bros for my most highly anticipated games. Oh, and that Project X game by Monolith.

Also, while I think Super Mario 3 D World wins for best gameplay, The Last Of Us does sweep most of the other awards imo.

For the Best Voice Acting part, I can vouch for the Narrator in The Stanley Parable as a possible nominee. For anything else, I'm not quite sure what to say since I don't really have a complete idea.

I would be interested in X if they got rid of the giant mechs. That's really unappealing.

Yep. Mech games are ugly and cheesy and unfun. To me anyway.

Teh gamer who is limited to Vita/3DS minus watching LP's of everything else so I'm kinda skewed.

Best Overall Game: Fire Emblem Awakening.

Best Story and Writing Bioshock Infinite (An LP nod because...story wasn't the highlight for many of the games I played through)

Best Visuals (Aesthetics and Graphics) Dragon's Crown (Vita)

Best Soundtrack Shin Megami Tensei IV

2014 Game with Most Potential Nothing much has been announced for the 3DS/Vita...so...ugh. I guess Smash Bros out of necessity.

Hm. Would anyone here like a general "2014 in Gaming" thread? Bringing up and comparing all sorts of games coming out that year seems like it would make for a good thread.

2014 Game with Most Potential: Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I'm starting to see a pattern here but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Anyway, I dunno if I just liked SR 4 so much or everything else was extremely underwhelming this year but there it is.

Since I'm too lazy to make a list and choose a game for each category, I'll just say I have a tie between The Last of Us and Metal Gear Rising for best overall game.

It's worth mentioning that I've played a total of... 4 games released this year, one of which isn't a possible contender for me at all, and out of those I'd say Metal Gear Rising would be in two of those categories (soundtrack and possibly gameplay), with The Last of Us being in the rest. Do tha math.

As for 2014 game with the most potential, Dark Souls 2.
