Changed w/o discussion: Flat World

Flat World was changed without a discussion, although it's understandable considering the previous image was quite poor (see below).

Now, the question is whether this new picture of the Discworld fits (we mostly see the giant turtle), and also I wonder if it isn't used somewhere else.

I prefer the new image, but color corrected it a bit, value range was weird:

Oh, duh, it's also on Literature.Discworld...

There's also Shel Silverstein's version of the replaced image.

I like that, but here is a cleaner source:

Discworld is on Discworld so yeah.

Shel Silverstein version is an improvement.

I prefer Atun but it works better on Discworld. Another vote for Where The Sidewalk Ends.

I agree with the Where The Sidewalk Ends... pic.

I also like the Shel Silverstein pic.

I'm not sure about the Shel Silverstein pic. At a glance, it looks more like a cliff rather than an edge of the world...

I understand that issue with the old image that's in OP, but Shel's imagee has such an impossibly long cliff that I don't worry about that distinction.

Another [tup] for Shel.

I knew the Discworld picture was already used, I should have checked better.

The one showing "the edge of the world" doesn't illustrate much, I'd say, it indeed just look like a sheer drop from a cliff.

Various pictures of flat worlds are not hard to come by; a few for fun:

[up]I really like the last one, with the ship falling over the edge. The Minecraft isn't bad either. Nor the third.

I'd go for 12.5 as well, partly because it also invokes the "here there be dragons" trope so often associated with the "flat Earth" trope.

Here's some other suggestions.

I think we'll need a crowner

[up] The second and third of those are pretty cool as well...we'll definitely need a crowner, but I'll hold off on making one for one more day to see if any other suggestions come in.

Crowner's hooked. I didn't add 16.4 because it's giving a 502 error.

[up]Strange, it appears just fine on my computer. Anyway, I added 16.4 in the crowner list. Hopefully, the link works this time.

[up] The link worked that time, but it took me to the listing of all the sizes instead of the actual pic. I made a wiki size version and swapped it into the option.

I see that Dark Clouds is very popular. While it's certainly spectacular, I believe that it will be too hard to see what's going on once it's shrunk down to wiki size. That's the main reason it's not my preferred pic.

[up]Really? I thought that would only happen if the original picture is very cluttered or contains heavy details.

Anyway, at wiki size. Should I replace the crowner option with this one?

Here it is at wiki size...it's alright, but I think one of the simpler pictures works better.
