Post your genius idea for a video game here.

Here is mine: You are a Bigfoot/Yeti like creature, with Dishonored-esque magic stealth powers. Your job is to sneak into a big city at night and eat people, without being seen by an increasingly paranoid populace. There can be a "story mode" if you want, but the main draw is surviving night after night until the military is sent in to deal with you. You try to keep unnoticed as long as you can.

What do you think? This is the thread for your million dollar ideas.

A game like Contra Meets Mega Man.

It's basically a Run-And-Gun but you can get the weapon data of foes that you scan or defeat. You then can select and interchange 5 of those weapons as your current equipment. Every weapon is good for different situations, and the weak early-game weapons can be upgraded so that they become effective later game. Also features multiple epic boss fights.

The plot is about two factions of extradimensional aliens taking over the universe. Your character belongs to a third faction who is supposed to stop the other two by stealing their weapons and allowing the good guys to harness their powers against them.

Your standard fantasy RPG with a twist: You start out as the evil overlord. Her kingdom is dying from being located in the middle of a desolate wasteland, which is why she has to expand into the lush lands of the traditional 'heroic' races.

But, there's a legend about ancient artefacts that would bring 'final peace' to the lands, so while her army is trying to get land that can support her people, she sets out with a band of ragtag misfits to acquire these artefacts, partly to see if it can be used to avoid bloodshed, but also because the description is very ominous, and could end up destroying the world instead.

And no, she can't just bully the local shopkeepers into giving her infinity+1 weapons, because said shopkeepers have very long explanations in economics on why she shouldn't do that.

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.

I'd remake Time Gal as a sorta goofy 3D action platformer.

I've never had a particularly original idea for a video game. Anything I happen to be interested in making is either a fangame or very close to it. But what the hell:

Idea 1:

Basically, it would be Nights 3, but without all the bullshit platforming and minigames from Journey of Dreams. Also, Nights is mute again. Gameplay would emphasize performing aerial stunts to maximize agility and speed. Level design encourages exploration both on foot and in the air while still being focused and arcade-y. Has an epic final level with two boss fights and a survival horror-esque initial section on foot.

Idea 2:

A game similar to Kirby Air Ride, but in the Sega Superstars/All-Stars series. Game would be called something like "Sega All-Stars Hoverboarding". The entire game is basically the same thing, but with Sega themed arenas and smoother handling and more than one action button.

Idea 3:

Sid & Al's Amazing Cinema: It's a sequel to Sid & Al's Incredible Toons/The Incredible Toon Machine with Sid & Al working as stunt actors in a movie studio. The levels are wrap-around, so any object that falls off one end of the stage will just show up in the other. Sid & Al can wear costumes which alter their behavior. Gravity and air pressure can be adjusted, unlike in Incredible Toons.

Idea 4:

A first-person platformer which plays like Turrican x Jumping Flash. Level progression is linear, but the levels are wide open and exploration is mandatory for finishing them. Main character gets a third-person ball form which operates much like the spindash in Sonic Lost World.

Idea 5:

A spiritual follow-up to Sonic Robo Blast 2, this time with a 3D polygon engine, 3D physics, a proper homing attack that doesn't kill momentum when you hit an enemy with it, a quick-step, an electric shield which enables characters to stick to metal surfaces, a fire shield with a boost-like dash attack, etc.

Idea 6:

A game set in the universe of Spyro 1-A Hero's Tail. There is a paper-thin plot involving Gnasty Gnorc, Ripto, Red and a Rhynoc cult called the Brotherhood of the Sorceress vying for control of the magical realms. Spyro must defeat them all. The events, enemy placement, and objectives are entirely randomized, so you will never play the same game twice. There are 12 worlds spread across three realms: the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Realms. The game ends when you defeat all of the villains or when Spyro is captured.

One part Beat 'em Up, one part Adventure Game. Solve a few puzzles, then have to fight your way out.

A full remake of Quest 64 with actual money, the ability to have multiplayer(as a separate type of play, but this is due to the fact that the game requires multiple players for your character to dodge properly), a non-crappy style inventory, no voice acting like normal, more dialogue, possibly more items, the events of the Japanese remake, and some of the events of the Gameboy Color remake.

Lagoon with a sword that can hit. ...Literally, that thing is a toothpick. -_-
