@Soble & @Zelenal I honestly think The Evil Within could work for a crossover. The thing about the power level issue is that without going into spoilers (Since this aspect was flat out mentioned by Shinji Mikami during the prerelease) that it takes place within a mental world. Meaning that their skills wouldn't matter when the very world changes beneath their feet, monsters can be created that are on par with their skills and beyond, and the world master is able to bend everything to his will. The issue is giving them a way to actually overcome it.

I should probably written my idea here before.

Long story short; I am the only human being in the planet who thinks that a Killer Insstinct x RWBY can work. First chapter's already in FF.

Long version; KLLR RWBY will be an episodic series of fanfic. First chapter is about team JNPR teaming up with Orchid and Jago to investigate an island. There, they will face Spinal and Fulgores. Yes, plural.

I plan for the characters to split up after the second chapter; either it will be Jaune, Pyrrha, and Jago vs Spinal and his skeletal crew. Or Ren, Nora, and Orchid fighting in an Ultratech facility against all the older Fulgore models (aka the ones in KI 1 & 2) where the last Fulgore they face is the latest one, Type-03, aka the one from KI 2013.

After that, there will be a new story, starring team RWBY teaming up with Hinnmatoom, aka Thunder, investigating an ancient castle used to belong to a Count von Sabrewulf. Little did they know, it's not abandoned...

Again, another split: Either we'll get to see Ruby, Yang, and Thunder facing against Sabrewulf, or Weiss and Blake researching the old notes found in a lab, discovering the truth behind Sabrewulf, who is more than beast.

Of course, Ultratech has to make things worse. They send the old Riptor units (aka Retro Riptor as seen in the latest KI Update) as a test for the scientist responsible for them; if they fail, a new Riptor project will be made (aka the new Riptor as seen in KI 2014)

This story will go on until I have all the KI cast into the story. I've plan for one with Glacius, Penny, Ironwood and his army vs Sadira. CFVY with TJ Combo against the new Riptor units. SSSN with Aganos vs Kan-Ra. Adam Taurus vs Hisako. And... that's it. Until we see more of RWBY, that is.

I want one with Maya and Tusk, and one with Kim Wu—plus anyone new for KI 3 including ARIA—but I must wait until Season 3. I'd love to see the two Cinders facing off, and Omen vs Raven, but we haven't seen what either women could really do, so... yeah.

Almost finished with KLLR RWBY 1 chapter 2, hopefully I can finish it ASAP.

Chapter 7 of Under the Ashen Sky is out.

Whoo! I thought I was never going to upload that! Massive thanks go to Zelenal for his thorough proofreading. :D

Chapter 7, in which focus is on Team RWBY and Schiefer's employment status gets questioned.

Hey guys, do me a favor.

At the last segment of the fic, I wrote a scene of Yang fighting Cian, one of ky OC team member (Team SCFR). For a quick reference, Cian is a sorta rival to Yang with gun-boots (Ferrum Tabernus, and no, I published his intro chapter well before the season 2 trailer was out), who is slightly below her level.

I put a lot of effort into writing that fighting scene, and I would appreciate it if you guys can take a look at it and how it actually is. The fight was pretty cool in my head and I want to see if I successfully visualized it.

Not a concept by any means, but I could definitely see a RWBY x Bloodborne Fusion fic, given that the game has a focus on transforming weapons ("Trick Weapons"), and a major faction (Of which you are) being known as Hunters. There is one other curious note... But it's an endgame spoiler, so I can't say it.

So I'm writing chapter 8 of Under the Ashen Sky.

The chapter starts off in a cafe, where Schiefer and Weiss meets up and have a talk.

To give you a context, Schiefer used to work in Weiss' house, as a sort of bodyguard, butler, big brother, etc. Then one day he left Weiss and never kept in touch for over 5 years. She thinks he died, but one day, in the current time, she sees him in a cafe.

Naturally, she demands answers; what happened to him and why didn't he ever try to contact her.

Schiefer tells her that he was forcibly drafted into a paramilitary group that is now part of White Fang. When he barely managed to escape after years of forced service, he was then held custody under intelligence agency because of his involvement.

Weiss asks him to come back to her, but he refuses, saying that his time in the White Fang changed him and he can be too dangerous, so she should stay away from him, act as if he never existed in her life.

Now, would Weiss have any of that?

Oh, and no, I shall repeat that I am NOT shipping Schiefer and Weiss; I have a strong no-shipping canon and original character policy.

Also, what he said above? It's not the truth, but none of them is a lie either.

I think Weiss would be the type of person to acknowledge that he has a valid reason for keeping his distance, but not really care and want him to stay anyway.

That makes more sense.

Oh man. In what I wrote so far, it has Weiss actually being terrified because of Schiefer's threat, only relaxing when Schiefer confesses that he could never hurt her no matter what. Man, I was doing Weiss a great disfavor, I should fix that. [lol]

By the way, what kind of impression does this fake exerpt from a memoir give?

Through my time in that field of death, I’ve seen and heard a lot of men uttering their last words. Sadly, in my experience dying men don’t make exactly the most eloquent of speakers. So many of them mostly consisted of weak but desperate cry for either help or their mothers. But every once a while some men make some coherent words out. On retrospect, I find it amusing how much of those were the words that they ran away from saying when they were alive. A wise lady said, it is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built. Then I wonder, what are comedies built upon?

Something I've wanted to do yammer on about for a long time is write a Demon Souls/RWBY crossover. There's certainly a bunch of Dark Souls ones.

Demon's Souls was, you know, the game that came before Dark Souls. Instead of the misty settings of Drangleic and Lordran, there's Boletaria, a castle/dungeon/valley-filled kingdom infested by the demon realm, where after traveling through a vast bog, you, the noble warrior, are are unceremoniously wrecked by the first boss you encounter, and should you survive said encounter well...

This saw you, the Demon Slayer, trapped inside of the Nexus, forced to hunt demons against your will as your soul was now bound to the Nexus, and the only way outside was through a series of Archstones that teleport you to locations where demons nest. Quite a way to kick off the adventure. Your first target was Phalanx, an oily, slug demon sloshing around the inner halls of a Boletarian castle, surrounded by its spear-wielding brethren.

Were you clever enough to defeat this demon, you'd find your life force restored, and yourself brought back to the Nexus, where a Maiden In Black awaited you - offering her services to the new Demon Slayer, character upgrades, information, and companionship.

Now, all that said, it was just vague enough that you could insert next-to-any person into it. Boletaria is, in fact, interconnected with several other realities/worlds], each with their own version of the Demon Slayer. You're not alone, with faces such as Ostrava, Yurt, and Biorr hunting the demons in different worlds.

RWBY can fit here.

Enter Team RWBY, using their convenient school hours to explore an unexplored portion of Remnant, or perhaps on their first mission as a team with the aid of an older Huntsman/tress. As they pass through the bog, instead of finding Grimm, they are surprised to find undead soldiers and demons lurking about.

Naturally, these are no match for Team RWBY/Oobleck.

It's when they get to the Dragon God that things really kick off, leaving the four/five defeated, and with their souls (which seem to be as important in RWBY as they are in Demon Souls) tethered to the Nexus.

Team RWBY could be together here, given little instruction on how to use the Archstones, and tackle each of the five playable worlds independently. Or, for the sake of suspense and stakes, they might all find themselves alone in the Nexus, tackling different demons to preserve the uniqueness of each encounter, eventually culminating in a reunion once every demon is defeated, and leading to the final battle of the game, against the Old One.

Each world is fairly gigantic and would probably take anywhere between a few days and a few weeks to get through, not to mention the people RWBY would be inclined to save/interact with along the way.

[up]My take on it would be the team getting split up at first and having to do a world each, to add to the amosphere of them having to go through some of the most terrifying places on earth partially alone. Their reunion would be the Valley of Defilement, something that all of them need to work together to overcomes. Before that it would be:

Weiss: Boletarian Palace
Yang: Stonefang Tunnel
Blake: Tower of Latria
Ruby: Shrine of Storms
All: The Valley of Defilement and Boletarian Palace Area 3.

Hell, you could even have the others come in through phantom summoning. I also realise that they would essentially be using Bloodborne combat against the Demon's Souls enemies and bosses.

That's almost exactly what I had in mind. The order's a bit different:

Boletarian Palace: Yang. Because for some reason, I like watching her duel people, and the battle with False Allant at the top of the palace just screams that.

Stonefang Mine: Weiss. I want to give her a Moment Of Awesome by having her face down the Dragon God, the thing that wiped out her entire team. Also, Stonefang Mine has a bunch of fire elementals. So, ice meets fire. It's so delightgully juxtaposed.

Tower Of Latria: Blake. Blake's Semblance creates a shadow clone. Fool's Idol is a weird boss that uses illusions against you. I can see Blake getting snatched away into the night by a gargoyle and surviving the fall. She's the best equipped to handle the narrow walkways and chasms. Have her meet Yurt. Black. Black World Tendency. Most of the stage is a dark dungeon where sight and stealth are crucial.

Shrine Of Storms: Ruby. Adjudicator and Old Hero might not be all that interesting, but a giant cliffside/beachhead infested with flying manta rays of death? Absolutely Ruby's field of expertise.

And then Valley of Defilement, which is more than worthy of being the "final area", and Blake would more-or-less be the defacto leader here.

I'm just not sure about splitting them up. Technically, they'd all have to come from different realities in order for them to appear as/be summoned as blue phantoms (IIRC). This can be Handwaved.

I haven't played Bloodborne (though I did see a crossover recently that fused it, Demon Souls, and Dark Souls), but I did have fun brainstorming how overpowered Team RWBY would be, and how to slowly invoke Power Creep, Power Seep.

  • No Dust in Boletaria. This means Ember Celica will eventually run out of ammo, particularly if Yang doesn't notice this problem early. Yang's kind of cool hot-headed. Weiss won't have dust for her special attacks and she and Ruby will lose their long-range options. This wouldn't be such a problem in the earlier areas. (ammo shortageS)
  • Then there's the matter of simply losing their weapons and not being able to replace them or rebuild them to their exact specs with the materials available in Boletaria. (weapon replacements)
  • Since we haven't had anything confirmed in canon yet, I'd run with the idea that RWBY have some scruples about killing people - and Demon's Souls features a couple of humans who will inevitably get in their way. Humans without Aura, so any one of RWBY's attacks might tear them apart in an instant. (moral dilemmas)

And I'm having visions of Yang thinking the Red Dragon is the demon she needs to kill and accidentally killing Phalanx by ramming it into the ground. Of Ruby attacking Vanguard and getting knocked off a cliff, into a staredown with Ajudicator. Blake and Freke taking down the Fool's Idol, only for Blake to be carried off to a faraway tower by one of the gargoyles.

[up]I picked Boletarian Palace for Weiss, because it fits her whole motif of being a Princess of sorts, so the mood of the place would fit her. Plus she's had experience fighting large Knights, hence Tower Knight, relating to Ostrava in time, the psychological horror of Boletaria's royal heroes being reduced to monstrous demonic mockeries of themselves, and the ideal clash she'd have with Allant. If False Allant could speak for the real man that is. Also, I thought Boletarian Palace 3 (Ie: The leadup and fight with Allant) was only accessible after defeating the other Area Bosses?

Also, while the humans wouldn't have Aura, what they do have is Soul Power. Or their Phantoms would at least, which could be made into an equaliser.

For other stuff, I had the idea that one of the team would get their Phantom possessed by the Old Monk as Blake's final challenge. Stonefang Tunnel fit Yang's more rugged and rough fighting style, along with her duel with Flamelurker (Which would be a fight that would damn near kill her), Blake would try escorting out Yurt the Silent Chief while figuring out his true intentions (Maybe even being offered a deal by Mestophilies?), and the the encounter with Maiden Astrea and Garl Vinland being a massively traumatic experience for all of them.

It most comes down to personal views. I don't have any real plans to write this (At least not where the series is at right now), but I do like coming up with these concepts.

Mmm, I see, I see. The false Allant could very well speak for the real one (Ostrava was horrified to learn that his father was a demon, and Miralda still served the false Allant). I'd like to ask more about the conflict of ideals between the False Allant and Weiss. Could you elaborate on that?

I didn't think about Weiss and the Tower Knight grin That's a good idea.

IIRC it was Boletaria 1-4 that was locked until you defeated another Archdemon (for me, it was the Dragon God).

While Soul Power could be an equaliser, I probably wouldn't have thought of it that way. They do have the power of demon's souls and such, yeah, and given the PC's strength, it's arguably in the same tier as Aura. I guess it could work.

To be honest, I know Flamelurker has a reputation as one of the harder bosses, but he was easy by the time I got to him. Allant/Tower Knight/Penetrator/Maneater/Old Hero were worse.

As to the last part, nah, I understand. I've basically run through my list of notes on it. It's one of those drafts that sits in Word for a year and never gets opened.

[up]It would be the clash of leadership, that Weiss wants to be a just leader, and undo the poor reputation of her company, while Allant damned his kingdom by making his deal with The Old One. Actually one other concept I did have was that Weiss actually convinces Ostrava not to commit suicide before the road to Allant, (For pacing issues, perhaps he could give Weiss the Mausolem Key sooner for the sake of pacing, and to have Old King Doran) and that would play into a possible ending of the fic.

To avoid any member of Team RWBY having to sacrifice themselves to become the new Monumental, Ostrava does it, to find some way to protect the people against the Old One

I will admit, i've only seen Demons Souls through an LP, not played it. I'd love to play it (Especially since i've loved and finished all the other Souls games), but sadly i've never owned a PS 3.

KLLR RWBY - Your setting confuses me, largely because I haven't played Killer Instinct. Is it a "merged world" crossover, or are the characters in each others' world.

Under the Ashen Sky - You linked to the mobile version, why, WHY!? Also, I don't think Weiss would have any of that, she'd definitely argue, whether your character would comply to her is up to you. She's stubborn, not unreasonable, but stubborn. But I suppose you already got past this part.

Demon Souls/Bloodborn RWBY - It's certainly a workable idea, though I haven't played Bloodborn and won't for quite awhile.

Evil Within RWBY - What on earth would we call it... RWBY Within? Roses Within? RWBY: The Evil Within? Mind Of Murder? Scattered Madness? Soul Of The Mind? (heh) Maybe something a bit more In-Universe and meta, like, Beacon Mental Hospital.

Then there's got to be a main character. Subjecting 15-year old Ruby to Ruvik just... doesn't feel right. If we really want to go out of the box, rewrite one of the characters - maybe Ruby just wants to be normal instead of a Huntress. But The Evil Within is a world where All Adults Are Useless isn't prevalent - a 15-year old probably won't have the resilience to outwit a hardened sadist/serial killer.

By the game's ending, I'm not not even sure how Sebastian got into Ruvik's world, it's very open-ended, so you'd have to decide how to start the story also. This could be Hand Wave'd though.

Maybe it just starts with Team RWBY answering a distress call before The Reveal.

KLLR RWBY author here.

It's a merged world fic, meaning that instead of the usual "Characters from one media somehow ends up in another world/dimension/universe filled with characters from any other media" stories, the Killer Instinct cast are natives to Remnant.

I don't even play the games, but the lore are so damn interesting, and the reboot KI looks SOOOOOO cool, and when I think about it they fit so damn well in RWBY. But that's just me; I think I'm the only human being on this Earth who even think of making that crossover.

Is Ultratech inherently evil? Are they at odds with the Schnee company, and what's their take on Dust? Who runs the company?

Teams RWBY/JNPR are probably aware of the company's existence but... I don't think they would attack a company head on, or at least Weiss wouldn't.

And if Death Battle has any say, fighting several Fulgores seems like it won't end well.

So if this is a merged world, then Fulgores and Spinals are probably deployed to combat the Grimm also, right? Or are you mostly dealing with the enemies/creatures in the Killer Instinct world?

I guess I'll have to see a trailer of that new Killer Instinct too.

[down] Well, that answers most of that.

I'm so glad you're interested, buddy.

But slow down already lol

https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11061915/1/KLLR-RWBY Here's the fanfic.

To answer your question:

Ultratech are rivals with SDC, but I'm writing them as being subtle; surely you don't want your plans to Take Over the World to be revealed so easily. They are interested in defending the people, but their methods may not make some people happy.

Yes, they're also manufacturing Dusts alongside all sorts of high tech stuffs.

Of course they're aware; the saw the Fullgore Type-02's being deployed alongside the new Atlas Knights when the Grimm crashed into town. However, none of them have any idea how nefarious Ultratech is.

Yeah, the story is after the end of V2, but depending on how V3 starts, I may need to change a few things to match canon.

The Fullgores will appear once I'm done with the next chapter; I'll make a poll whether the readers wants to see Jaune+Pyrrha+Jago vs Spinal and his skeletal pirate crew or Ren+Nora+Orchid vs hordes of Fullgores. They will face off the Type-01's and 02's (aka the ones seen in the first two games) which will climaxed with a fight agains the latest model, Type-03, aka the one from the reboot.

Also, the origin of KI 2013!Spinal is more arcane; he's not an Ultratech product, so there's only one of him. I do intend to have his crew be visually based on his classic costume as seen in KI 2013. With all the accessories and colors to go with.

And yes, the Fulgores—alongside the Atlas Knights—are developped as peacekeeping machines, and they're competing against each other.

If UT won... who's to say ARIA wouldn't press the button to make any Fulgores worldwide go berserk to weaken the Four Kingdoms?

I plan to include all the KI cast into this story.

As I mentioned, JNPR teams up with Jago & Black Orchid who will eventually fight Spinal and the Fulgores.

Next we'll get RWBY with Thunder investigating an old mansion used to be owned by the von Sabrewulf clan. Then an army of Riptors show up; they will be physically based on the classic costumes because ARIA is giving the original Riptor Unit creator one last chance to make them effective before handing the project over to a new doctor, where she'll make the new Riptor units as seen in KI 2013.

Then, CFVY + TJ Combo vs rampaging Riptors in its stage, but since we've no idea what team CFVY's personalities other than what we've seen in V2's finale, I'll wait for that.

Ironwood and Penny meeting Glacius when they were still in Atlas, with Sadira trying to make a mess of things.

There are some bonus "scenes" I want to write, like Jago trying to fend off Omen within his soul, then Raven Branwen shows up to fight either Shadow Jago or Omen. Hisako vs Adam Taurus in her village, a story with Maya and Tusk, Cinder's crew meeting with Ben Ferris who will eventually become Cinder...

Again, until we're shown more I'll wait. For now, I'm focusing on finishing the JNPR story before I go on with RWBY's story.

A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.
