I haven't watched nickelodeon in whats seems like forever, except for Korra I never flip onto that channel. Is it really doing badly?

Put Fairly Oddparents out of its misery. It used to be good, but in its current state I find it physically painful to watch- something no other cartoon I've seen has managed to be in my eyes.

Well, what are considered the good shows? I know Korra is popular. I only watch Winx Club, but the latest season was terrible, and I have little confidence in the new season.
Korra is actually quite the ratings bomb lately.

Take Spongebob back to its roots: If it's not getting cancelled, the best thing Nick could possibly do with the series is to hire the best writers they can find, go back to the season 1-3 characterization, and build on the characters from there.
Reconnect with the target audience: Nickelodeon used to try relating to kids instead of simply entertaining them. Start making more sitcoms and Nicktoons that are about kids' lives and their perceptions of society and culture. Make game shows that are about having a good time instead of advertising fame.

What they really need to do is cancel everything and restart Nick as a Cartoon Only station, akin to CN. That's the only way they'll win me back.
For you and only YOU count as the audience Nickelodeon needs to win back OH SO MUCH!
Seriously,STOP WITH THE "Nick should vow to my will!" and or "Bring Back the old shows!". It got old the second before you even started typing it.
Im sad about how Nick is now but GOD.
However, you guys will be happy to know that the Live Action shows are struggling in ratings and will probably get cancelled. Also Nick's Cartoons are starting to climb in ratings. So there's that.
Also, lewatoo, those are VERY cool ideas! Very good.
And Im sad to say but Nick NEEDS Spongebob, if only to put before actually good shows so that they soak ratings.

Why are you yelling at me about saying my opinion? That's what this thread is about: How Nick would win me back. I simply stated what it would take for them to win me back, not that I'm forcing them to do such or anything.

Wow. That is NOT EVER selfish at all! Nick doesn't have please you! It needs to please millions of people around the world!
Well since I see where the directions this thread is going...
Nick needs more boobs, because that would definitely please millions around the world.
Two things:
- GET. BETTER. SCHEDULING.
- Stop airing spongebob so damn much.
Nickelodeon is a channel aimed at children. I don't think fan service will boost their rating- well maybe t will, but then the FCC will complain
Churn out more crap, because the majorities like crap better over smart things that make their heads hurt.
Who exactly is the crowd they have to win back? Because if "bring back the old stuff" in an anticipated response, then the people engaging in the discussion probably aren't the target demographic, and so Nick doesn't really have to win them back at all.
Am I the only one who finds really pretentious-sounding?
Which answer do you prefer, "It's pretentious but true" or "It's just a joke, the pretentious thing is overanalyzing it seriously"?

They could just start a Nick Classic channel where they can't air anything less than ten years old, and are contractually bound not to succumb to Network Decay like Toon Disney, Boomerang and the Nicktoons channel.

How do you think Nickelodeon can realistically Win Back the Crowd? And be loved again. Let me first state what I DON'T want to see;
1. Cancel Sponge Bob (Sponge Bob makes over two thirds of Viacom's profits, so it would be foolish to cancel it. Reducing channel space is perfectly fine, but cancellation is extremely unlikely.)
2. Bring back all the old shows. (You could probably get away with bringing back one show or another, it has happened before. But bringing back ALL of them? That would be impossible.)
So with those out of the way, what do you think Nickelodeon should do? Also, what are your thoughts on the current Nick shows and upcoming shows (i.e., Breadwinners, Bad Seeds, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, and Sky Rat.)
