It would be cool to have an image from this. I was first thinking about Nano Benders from Futurama, but I also found this image of a nano swarm devouring a stadium from The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), which I have not seen, but perhaps we could get a better screenshot from that.

I couldn't find a shot of nanobenders devouring matter, but I make a screenshot if I get the episode.

I actually kinda like the TDTESS pic (shit movie, though). Here's an endgame scenario image. Here's something we could link somewhere on the page for a visual explanation.

4.2 would be something I'd use. Not fond of 1.2 and 4.1 - they are missing something.

Well, without seeing the nanomachines at work it's hard to say exactly what is going on.

Yeah, I know it's not a fair complaint since you can't really show both. Maybe an inset of the Goort nanobots would help?

Well, maybe this truck dissolving?

Here's a better quality youtube video of it, we can take a screenshot and clean off the bugs.

Here's a slightly better rez image of the truck.

Yeah, well i like the stadium better, but the truck shows the point quite good i guess.

The "gray goo scenario" is explicit sure, but i think having to read the image is kind of bothersome and it lacks the punch of the truck or the stadium dissolving. Maybe those images won´t instantly telling you what exactly is going on, but if you come to the grey goo and you know its apocalypse, you can assume the goo is dissolving its food.

I think the truck and the stadium are about equal. No real preference. They both also kind look like they're just smoking, though that's more or less part of the trope as well.

The truck works, but I think I prefer the stadium, for the size of the area being affected if nothing else.

This is ready to call. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged, and the others are on the Image Links page. Caption or no?
