So naturally there's some division over this, specially about how Inafune himself.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I lack digital money to fund this, but I'll definitely buy the Steam version and almost certainly get a 3DS cartridge port if it will eventually exist.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!over 500.000 has been reached and not even a single day has been completed!despite people's complains that it's "homaging" Megaman too much or that Inafune could have the means to make the game without relying on Kickstarter,it is still a nice message to Capcom that, yes,we miss Megaman and we would love to have him back.
It almost looks like an Affectionate Parody, what with the traffic cones as Met (aka Hard Hat) expies and all...
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.I doubt this will ever get a regular Wii porrt for the por unlucky souls like me without funds for a Wii U.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceUh, yeah. The Wii is kinda done...
Isn't this a PC game designed for Steam? The console versions were stretch goals.

One day after the announcement of this game, and Keiji says Capcom hasn't reacted yet.
... Really? It's only been one day and you were expecting them to jump all over you about it?
...Yes?
I mean, it's pretty clearly Serial Numbers Filed Off.
Well, obviously Capcom's lawyers have to do some legal research on the matter. Personally, I doubt they have a case.
Usually the strategy in this sort of thing is to push ahead anyway, under the theory that even if you lose the case you're still harming your competitor by forcing them to pay legal fees (and they're probably smaller so it hurts them more) but I think Kickstarter complicates the issue. Too much backlash has a chance of increasing Inafune's budget once people start sending him sympathy money.

So what do you guys think would happen if Cap Com actually tried something?
Considering how great their rep is these days, do you think they are hesitating because they know the fans will react negatively if they so much as even breathe in the direction of Mighty No.9?

One Strip! One Strip!A lockdown of Capcom-Unity at the very least as a pre-emptive move.
Can't wait until the internet makes 8-Bit Beck sprites.
In seriousness, this sounds interesting.
Capcom doesn't have an absolutely horrible rep, though. They are still running several series with rabidly devoted fanbases.
I wonder what the SF, Mv C or MH teams could achieve if the rug was pulled out from under them.

The DMC fanbase went rabid with rage with DmC. The Mega Man fanbase went nuts due to all of the perceived slights made against them by Capcom. RE fans are ticked that they're going all action, no horror. Strider fans are ticked at Double Helix developing Nu!Strider. Monster Hunter fans hate how Capcom's only allowing a few token games out of Japan. Fans of most of Capcom's old series are probably ticked at their not doing anything with them.
I could go on, but I won't. But I could.

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I actually will never forgive Capcom for a whole lot of things. For example: I was truly looking forward to playing Kaio King Of Pirates until they scratched it from release, or at least for my half of the world.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDamn, they're almost at 700k! I hope they crack 2.5m. I'd really love a Wii U version since I'm not too big on steam and those extra two levels would be cool.
I might have to back this. How does Kickstarter work exactly? I mean, if for some reasons Inafune cancels the project do I just lose my money or what?
If the project fails o meet its mark (pfft), you get the money refuned. The money doesn't go into the starter's hands until the time limit is reached. This is a bit different from Indiegogo, where the money starts going to them once the original goal is met.
If they cheat you out of the product, I believe they can just be sued.
I have a message from another time...So if something terrible happens and they can't continue after it's been funded I lose the money(like I'd bother suing over 20 dollars)? Eh, I think it's worth the risk. Too bad I won't get the game for another year and a half or so but I guess that's the risk you take.
Too bad I don't have 40 to give though. That soundtrack and art book are tempting.
How did I miss this?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.i wouldn't be surprised if the goal was reached within the week.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Within the week? It's already over 700k. I give it 12 hours at the most before it reaches 900k. The real goal would be getting 2.5m by the end of the week.
I hope one of those stretch goals is playable Call. : S
Looks like they'll be able to reach the goal by tomorrow =D
...eheh
