Oh lord, until today, I had no idea there were trope pages.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I wasn't planning to actually read the book, but now I think I have to.
Looking for some stories?I hope one day to see an unedited version. It’s clear Kyle loses it at several points.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!Seems a few people on Amazon are accusing the 50 Shades of Green Team of being scam artists because they are trying to get real YA fans to buy it.... See the bottom two on this page, and comments from "searockstar" on both.
Seems a little harsh.
So I can't think of anything right now... meh.Ah, well, haters gonna hate.
Looking for some stories? The fact that theguy is getting so riled up about this makes me wonder if they are conducting an experiment of their own.
Then again, there was that The Little Mermaid incident in the last charity drive with that crazy girl, so anything is possible.
I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.I'd like to try something like this, and you don't see me getting all huffy at them. Seems like they're either overreacting or don't get what the intention was.

Looking for some stories?I saw similar comments to that on Goodreads. Clearly some people are having trouble grasping the concept of Stealth Parody.
It's almost as if Google didn't exist so they couldn't find examples of other people doing the same. Hell, there's another recent crowdsourced parody of 50 Shades of Grey that was a hit on iTunes.
Anyway, new episode of Folding Ideas, The Last of Us, BioShock, Hotline Miami: Violence as Narrative.

So I can't think of anything right now... meh.So I got a copy of Awoken yesterday (Kyle's hilarious dramatic reading intrigued me enough to buy the book) and all of the pages are upside down and the text is off center. Are manufacturing errors a peril of self-publishing?
I'd be tempted to say it's some Lovecraftian prank, but I don't know enough about Lovecraft to say for sure.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!That sounds like an error. Lovecraft wasn't really into anything like that.
Not Three Laws compliant.THE TRUE COSMIC HORROR OF printing errors.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Hey, you never know, he sometimes wrote about fucked-up math and geometry. I didn't want to discount the possibility that an alternate dimension tried to eat the copy of Awoken in question and burped it out upside down.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!So anyone else actually read Awoken. I have to said had I been reading this without the knowledge of it being a parody I would be way more pissed off at:
- Riley's creepy overprotectiveness of Andi ("I must protect you from yourself, little one" ...bleh)
- The victim blaming attitude the book takes over Andi nearly getting raped ("How could I make my self such an easy victim by wearing a bikini and drinking it's my fault those guys nearly jumped me... lucky Cthulhu Boy showed up and sent them insane before they could.")
- The overt blandness of Andi "Lego Brick" Slate in terms of how she moans about stuff.
But these are all part of the parody, so check that them all as achieved points in their YA/Twilight/Paranormal romance parody they got that aspect down.
Also the "suddenly in love" and "lovey dovey" prose after the two do start to go through the romance early in the book is cheesy as all hell.. I mean I'm a dyed in the wool romantic who likes Disney movies and Sailor Moon (though I always prefer the manga, which developed it better) so I don't mind most rushed romances but here? Yeah it comes out of flipping nowhere without even any chemistry to back it up.
There are things to like though, when Riley is talking about mundane stuff but with overly formal speech he can actually come off as oddly Adorkable, but he creeper vibes he gives off in the rest of the book (all intentional ones) negate that adorkableness. Also I am not opposed to be honest to the idea of Cthulhu falling in love with a human girl, yes it's a silly, silly concept and the actual delivery is intentionally "meh" but to be honest as some others have said the book has a coherent plot and it isn't actually awful - just predictable - and I am actually have had my curiosity piqued by the world they've where the Great Old Ones like to take human form and faff about on Earth and such. So basically, yeah, I think they got what they were going for and I actually honestly would read a sequel if they made one.

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.Normally I can see Hypocritical Humor coming from a mile away, but Lindsay "pigtails" gag slipped by just enough for me to laugh out loud at it.
New Paw's Music Movies episode: Puss in Boots starring Christopher Walken. No, really.
I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.Rantasmo explains why Buffy The Vampire Slayer needs more gay.
Also I wonder how big his OTP is ::goes to Tumblr:: Oh, it's quite big.
I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.
Since my only connection to the Cthulhu mythos comes from the Metallica songs "The Call of Ktulu" and "The Thing That Should Not Be", I thought it would be amusing to promote Awoken in the You Tube comments section of those song's videos. You all should go hit like so we can make them top comments. I'd like the see the reaction of metalhead Lovecraft fans finding out about the book.
