Well, up to that point I'd always had chocolate, and she bought strawberry. I think she just kept doing it because the first day back at school she said she'd buy me some because I didn't eat breakfast. I guess it was more of a sentimental thing, at that point. Like "whoa, someone's buying something for me!"

I agree that Pocky isn't really anything special, it's more of a food you eat so that people can see that you're eating it. I mean, it tastes good enough, and it's a nice snack, but yeah, those other chocolate stick things are definitely pretty great too.

First time I've seen direct confirmation of that, not that you seemed to be hiding it.

It's this really bland stick of bread with icing over it that Japanophiles get really obsessed over for some reason.

I wouldn't say the stick is particularly bland, but it's not awesometastic.

...I had a vague suspicion you might be Pocky. In any case, heya!

...Also, yeah. It was pretty sweet of her. I was conflicted about how to feel about it at first, but in the end the verdict was pretty much "I got manipulated and whatnot, but hey, free Pocky." It balances out.

Blarg. Now I'm second-guessing myself every time I want to send a text to my friend because I'm worried it might be a bad time or I might be talking too often or whatever. I also get the feeling that I should be second-guessing myself like that, but I still don't like it. :/

(Yes, this is the same friend I was talking about earlier.)

I have to wonder if I'm the kind of person who is doomed to never identify affection due to denial. Specifically I don't know if I'd ever notice if someone liked me...because I'd be so damn self-deprecatory I'd think said person would be lying to my face.
