The big Steam sales don't last nearly that long. Is it one week or two?
I didn't buy anything but a Civ V expansion from the last two or three sales, mostly because I implemented a "No Buying Anything Over Five Dollars" policy after that time I blew an entire paycheck on one of these things.
So yeah, I shall watch this sale from a respectful distance.

As long as you have internet access, I'm pretty sure you can make purchases. You'll just likely have to wait until you get home to install them.
Elsewhere, I've seen the Steam mobile (or at least Android) app mentioned for just such circumstances.
Yep, and it's rather useful too, since you can remote install through the app as well.
