How is this social awkwardness?

I saw one of those Socially Awkward Penguin memes, and one said, "Listens to favorite song. Imagines playing the guitar in front of friends and crush."

What I don't understand is, just how does that make you socially/awkward/weird?

Some people miss the point of a meme or have incorrect notions towards aspects of a meme, i.e. some people might think "wow jeez you'd have to be pretty socially awkward to have an imagination like that", or think that social awkwardness is just something that they consider abnormal. I can't say for sure, but it looks like someone's just gone out and said that they consider imagining an embarrassing, cheesy thought like that as social awkwardness - without having a proper grip on what it really is, or how it affects people.

How are you reading that as ganging up on you? They just explained what you were asking.

They're not insulting you. They're trying to address why a person might make that meme.

Anyway, on topic, I can kind of sort of see how that's a bit awkward.

It's... Sort of socially akward.

Imagining a good scenario with friends is something a lot of socially akward people would do, because they lack such things usually.

I think that is it anyway.

Also I'm a teen. Though I understand the going against teens. I hate most of my classmates. And the people in my grade in general.

I don't understand how imagining something is socially awkward. Imagining stuff is a solitary activity.

I guess if you got too into imagining the scenario (to the point of unconsciously acting it out) it would be socially awkward.

Or maybe the person who made it is so socially awkward that even their imagination thinks they're dorks.

Or maybe it's just a huge case of Meme Decay which should totally be a trope.

While likely, that's not as interesting as my idea.

And Meme Decay really does need to be a trope.

Sadly, modern memes aren't gonna be discredited so quickly.

Discredited Meme would be that a meme becomes tired. Meme Decay would be a meme's uses falling out of its meaning (I'm looking at you, Fauxtivational Poster).
