Sonic Boom - The new Sonic cartoon

If you read her description she sounds like the opposite of a haughty and bratty female character.

I like that this toon is at least using animals.

And not ugly looking humans that plague the franchise since Adventure.

Gee, it's not like AOSTH or Underground ever did that before!

Hey, the humans in Unleashed weren't all ugly. I mean, sure, most of them kinda looked like Pixar's vomit, but some of them you could look at without going blind.

Better than the awful-looking generic humans in the crowd shots in Sonic Adventure 2. Like these. Or that one creepy looking little girl in one cutscene, which I can't find but I wish I could because she's incredibly disturbing.

I like the Unleashed humans, thank you.

They don't look bad, mind you, some of them just really creep me out. It's less the art style and more the character design of some of the NPCs. Like that one lady with the leopard skin pants. She freaks me out. And the colors they use on those characters, they all seem very uniform a lot of the time, so it's hard for my mind to reconcile that with the cartooniness of them.

And maybe they'd bother me a lot less if they didn't remind me of the CGI in The Adventures Of J Immy Neutron. Seriously, looking back on that show, every single animation in it gives me the creeps. Especially in early seasons, where if you look in the background, the places are either deserted or the background characters are very clearly on a loop, repeating the same motions over and over, soullessly jerking back and forth going through their cycles until the scene ends. It's unnerving, to say the least.

Isn't it a good thing that most of the human in Unleashed look like Pixar's vomit?

-looks at new character designs- AAAAAAAAGH! Their eyes! Their eyes aren't fused together! Is that some unique property only Sonic and Amy's eyes have now? Are they like freaks of nature in their little cartoon animal society?

Let's remember: Sonic was on Disney's station for quite a while. Mabey that style from AOSTH grew on them.

Well, Sonic's design was originally inspired by Mickey Mouse's classic design, so other characters looking Disneyish is a natural extension of that.

You know, I've been processing a few things in my head, and I found something rather curious at 01:38 of this video. When Tails is talking about how the crystal was easy, pay attention to Amy's facial expression. Who is she addressing?

...Couldn't she be addressing Tails?

@BagofMagicFood: That would be the obvious answer, and a correct one at that, given the positioning. However, the fact that she is addressing the viewer is also equally valid. A child, like the intended audience, would get the obvious answer right away, whereas a savvy enough viewer would recognize that she's tipping the audience off as well.

That they could slip a message with two meanings in like that suggests that the developers know what they're doing to at least some degree (though the obvious cynics and haters would suggest otherwise) - they got FiM veterans on the writing staff, and fully expect to make good use of them.

Having written a small essay on another Cindy Robinson character, I learned how to think outside the box.

I can't wait to see the scene where Maria gets shot!

500 gold rings says he'll be playing The Comically Serious and if Maria gets any Continuity Nod, it would be something stupid like "She was my owner, and I love her!"

I would love it if they played Maria as Black Comedy and/or a Shadow The Hedgehog parody. That's probably a little too much to hope for, though.
