Warning, the RP has gone "Pink Mohawk", while all this stuff still applies, it has kind of quit taking itself seriously, I mean serious things still happen... but over all the golden rule has become "for the fun"

As an example, the first plot : trying to chase down techno-vikings, with a party including a magical girl, and a super hero trashman... yea sorry about the tone shift, I hope any one who still wishes to join, or has joined still enjoys themselves

Shiny has tasked me with the world primer this time around, so without further ado here we go.

Basically the world we have worked on is a future world, kind of mid level future, AI and Nano tech and stuff.... but no interstellar travel existed yet.

Magic and Myths and stuff exist even with the sprawling metropolises of modern times, and are not banished by it, in fact there helped by it....

You see mages need an energy source.... Mana, which is just like any other energy in this world, nuclear, electric, any thing like that.... it can be measured, quantified and contained, and in fact most Mana COMES from electricity...

This is why Magic and Tech bounce off each other, and advance at the same rate.... an Ancient Mage only had a Baghdad Battery to work with, for him the power of mastering fire was when she could use it to light some twigs ablaze, but now.... with modern power generators, and modern batteries, the best fire mages can go as far as to induce nuclear fusion.

Mages are powerful and respected, most of whom get a name based off there signature accomplishment in the manipulation of mana, however they are rare... a mutation is needed to allow humans to interact with mana, and for most it is focused through implants, think the biotics in mass effect since that was the inspiration here....

This leads to some discrimination, as common people tend to wonder why only the mages were blessed, but mostly it leads to governments attempting to control them.... no not in the way you think.... see attempting to directly control some one who can spark a star in there hands is fucking stupid, the control comes from benefits, each of the worlds countries attempts to bribe mages under its flags, with offerings of lifestyle, education, money, what ever you can think.

Military is a mostly human creation, and mages do exist in it, however due to rarity, most of them are artillery platforms, not front-line soldiers, if you want a front-line solider, look to the good old humans....

The reason for this is that despite magical races existing, they don't exactly have the humans capacity for well.... rapid procreation, this is not to say there rare.... but they don't number in the billions like humans do, most species could probably have there populations fit comfortably in a single large metropolis like new york. (this is still 10 million members)

Cybernetics are quite common, but not to ambiguity, you would not exactly give some one a second glance for having them, but a lot of people do... they cover the full range of stuff from enhancement, to appearance.... most rely on well full scale machinery though.... outside of so called smartskin, which is effectively just "Hey lets look young until we die" nano-tech enhancements are restricted to the government.

Magical Weapons exist, as do Magical cybernetics, the are items built to channel mana as part of there function, purpose built and will even work in the hands of a mortal, because there mana comes from a special type of battery inserted into them, however, like always the high end stuff is restricted, you cant exactly have civies throwing around fireball fists, and the batteries are expensive since they need to be recharged by a mage, however this is a common service that a mages collage offers, the expense does not equate to rarity, it equates to getting mages to do something so trivial.

Artifacts however are a different story, due to magic and technology advancing in parallel they are kind of non existent, well they do exist, but there not super powered things, there museum pieces, antiquities, sorry that's just the way a parallel development thing works out

Only certain creatures can store there own magic to any usable extent, by that I mean any thing beyond a latent ability such as form shifting for a werewolf/kitsune, or some plant control for a dyrad, they are : elementals without physical form, Demons and Angels without physical form, Full Dragons, others need external storage which is decently advanced at this point.

Demons/Angels with physical forms have there own mana-storage entities that only work for them.

Description = Different from the real world location in that it is now like the Caldari

Name : Depends on who you ask.
Type : Corporate Disputed Zone.
Location : Central America.
Description : The CDZ started when some corporations with too many assets felt too restricted by international law, they decided screw the rules, we have money and they decided to buy part of Central Amercia...
This worked out about as well as you would expect corporations owning a country too, as soon as politics and the bottom line mixed, there alliance fell apart, and it has now devolved into a mess, not even countries, land that changes ownership about as rapidly as a eastern European country, swapping between companies, as they engage in corporate, and actual warfare...
Even amongst this choas however, business booms, if you want something that's restricted, you can normally acquire it here... the problem is just getting it back to where you came from.

Name = Most people call it "Wall Street" or "Cocytus"
Type = Fortified City Chain
Location = Central Amercia
Description = Wall street is a snake like chain of thin metropolises, each fortified along the CDZ's borders, they are a mostly military afiar whos purpose is to make sure the corporations stay in the hell they have made for each other, and dont try to expand.

Name = Eon Biomedical.
Type = Corporation.
Location = Multinational
Description = The world leader in any thing that qualifies as "Human Enhancement" weather bio or cyber-tech, Eon has it... Most of there products are of a quality considered art like, and they have an expense that reflects this, they have a well known proxie "Neon Green" although no official records can trace this too them.

Name: Millennium Corporation
Type: Corporation
Location: Multinational
Description: One of the major players in the business world and the world leader in military robotics, as well as a key player in the firearms market, Millennium is the go to company if you want to start your own personal war. Their most iconic products would be their robodrako line of automatons. Their goal right now is to develop and perfect magitech that makes easy use for magic, rendering mages obsolete, and abble to be replaced by widely available automaton. In CDZ, they're called the "Black Widow" due their reputation of taking over smaller manufacturing companies and assimilating them.

Final note, that I think is worked in to there but I want to be clear : Almost any mythological creature is fine, but they may have to be toned down, and probably will be... the exception is full dragons, purebreed dragons are Cthulu.

Physical description/picture: A black/brown hair human-looking man with wolf ears, wearing a bodysuit that looks vaguely like a coat, sometimes wearing a helmet◊.

weapon/artifacts: A silenced semi-automatic shotgun◊, a talking High-frequency ninjato/scabbard (with gun parts) which acts as his voice, and throwing knives. A rocket powered right hand.

power: Super Speed and agility, sharp hearing and smell. Iaijutsu Practitioner.

short bio: A mysterious assassin who serves under Thala of Evo Biomedical as her partner in her missions. Not much is known of him but it is implied he might have been a different person before becoming a cyborg or an ordinary wolf turned werewolf by Evo Biomedical as a byproduct of their science. Personality, he is loyal as any dog, and his master is Thala.

However this all changed one day, when a critical paperwork failure botched a mission that left most of Thala's squad injured or dead with him being the other surivior, their paycheck also went missing... Taking this to be a sign there bosses were trying to off them, they quickly split and fled underground where they are now found today.

Role : Thala can do some combat with her tesla sword, focusing on light fast movement, or work with magitech, while she is capable in both feilds, her multi-role nature leaves her lacking compared to some one specialized.

Picture/Description : Black hair and tail, blue horns, with black and blue wings that appear as needed◊

Equipment : Tesla Sword, Mark 1 Neural Nano Redundancy System (NNRS)*

Power : Ice Breath, Spacial Rending Magic.

Bio : An ex-corporate operative for Eon Biomedical, Thala specialized in sabotage and subterfuge, equipped with a variety of gear to get stuff done she never disappoint them, hidden from her knowledge is they have an alternative motive for this, given the rarity of dragon-blooded, each time she is under the knife makes for the perfect time to get a close look at something still relatively unknown.

Was born in the CDZ. At the age of 15 left with his board and tools. For the past 10 years but running a small crews, trying to get out of cdz. When he isnt working on his board, he sketching in his note book. He a thrill seeker and tend to be the first one to volunteer for the dangers jobs.

Appearance: This, but with a small fairy riding on his shoulder.

weapon: Short sword, pistol, first-aid supplies.

power: Fairy struck - The magic given to him by fairies lets him see better in the dark, speak the language of a few magical races, and trigger dormant magic through direct contact. He'll eventually develop as a mage, but won't start as one.

short bio: A generally quiet man who spends some days talking with his fairy companions, who sometimes practices swordplay and marksmanship. He originally found these fairies after taking a trip in the woods and chasing off a bear attacking their home. In stubborn gratitude, they shared some magic with him, though he's yet to figure out how to use any magic.

power (if applicable): Has about the same level of power that a typical action movie antihero or kungfu ninja samurai has. Basically, a rather skilled human.

short bio : On the surface, a cocky arrogant fool who lives a wasted life by himself and his cat Angel, solely working to make ends meet so he can stay at home and continue to watch Japanese cartoons all day and swing around swords for who knows what reason. To the few people who know him, a cocky arrogant fool who sometimes works as a killer-for-hire in order to make ends meet. Not many know of his past, but it is rumored he was once an accomplished swordsman who slaughtered countless opponents before literally walking away from it without a sign of regret. Maybe he'll have cause to begin his rampage once again soon enough...

Physical description: Starting with his ears, they're pointed yes, but bend down at a 45 degree angle. His skin color is a faded green with slight tan. Hair, dark, dark blue that looks black. You have to put it under a bright light to see the blue. Same with his eyebrows. Bright sky blue eyebrows. He wears an open button-down jungle green and black plaid shirt and black jeans. Also, he has a natural smile.

Power: Seeker Seal Magic- Short blasts of magic that find a selected target and latch onto it. Making a magical seal. Seals use plants/wildlife and wind.

Bio: His Grandma's an Elf, just for tells. Danton was born in a frying family. One, who accepted others(Races with more than a pigment difference), and one who didn't. He's for. He isn't liked by either side for the fact that he: Has elven blood, and just isn't liked by people on his Mom's side(She's half Elf) for his personality(Kinda jerky If people aren't into what he's into and has no patience). So with this he took to building random stuff for fun since he was alone most of the time and because he doesn't have full magic. He started making weapons mainly and from there, magical ones.

Are there any restrictions on splicing a magical weapon with a regular weapon (i.e. affixing something that uses magic to a regular gun)?

Name: Daniel Whitaker

Age: 29

Race: Human

Class: Cyborg Ninja

City (of birth): Houston, Texas

Physical Description: There is almost no part of Daniel's body that doesn't look augmented. His entire body has been replaced by a metal exoskeleton, and all his inside bits have been replaced by synthetic organs to replace the ones that got taken out when he was turned into what he is now. His exoskeleton, while clearly such, is still pretty much in the shape of the human body, besides a few odds and ends. Like, for example, his fingers being slightly elongated into sharp claws, the same as his toes. The only thing that doesn't (immediately) look augmented is his face. Looking closer, though, there are many inset lines crisscrossing his face, revealing it to be just as synthetic and manufactured as the rest of him.

Weapon/Artifacts: Daniel's outfitted in the way you'd expect a cyborg ninja to be — he's got one high-frequency blade that he uses for his main attacks, a shitload of knives scattered around his body in several compartments, and a completely normal handgun — an M93 Raffica machine pistol — in a shoulder holster.

Power: No special powers, other than what his cyborg bits grant him.

Short Bio: As you would imagine, Daniel didn't just come across these cyborg parts by himself. At the age of eighteen, he signed up for some project the military was working on. The project's goal was to create the ultimate soldier — one that would have no problem dealing with (most) threats that got in his way. Over the next few years, he was experimented on endlessly; the army tried countless combinations of parts and enhancements, trying to get him as best as he could be. Obviously, they eventually succeeded, and for a few years Daniel — and a few others — was their prized possession. All that changed, however, when his tour of duty ran up. Then, the military booted him out, for the next phase of their experiment: how could a cyborg such as himself live in a normal environment, rather than a military one?

...Since then, Daniel's been taking on mercenary and bounty hunter-type jobs, seeing as how it's just a tiny bit difficult to work at the 7/11 down the street when you look like the Iron Man's skinnier brother.
