Any conservative tropers?

Personally I'm center-left, but I always wondered if there was any right-leaning tropers on this site.

Socially I'd consider myself center-right,...but as the goalposts move that erodes.

If I took a litmus test,only in the U.S. would I not be conservative. I'd be a liberal,and a Card Carrying One.

But socially it's a definite.

I'm very liberal when it comes to social values, but my beliefs about economy are closer to laissez faire-ists of 19th century. Markets now tned to be so overregulated it hurts.

There are a few here and there, but they tend to be rather outnumbered by the other side, on these forums.

(I guess I could be considered "conservative" on the US political scale, but if asked for a short summary of my positions, I'd say "minarchist of a Jacksonian^note very briefly: "don't mess with us and we won't mess with you, but if you do mess with us Dresden and Tokyo are the least of your worries" bent".)

My other trait that is usually atributed to some more rightist people is high support for Israel. 1000 times better than Palestine and their other neighbors.

I rather liberal in comparison to most my family and friends, but in comparison to someone who identifies as liberal I'm probably very conservative.

I'm an Economic/Foreign Affairs Conservative with my beliefs on Social stuff being somewhere in the middle.

I'm a new guy, so I very much doubt I can be counted as a regular troper. But I'm a staunch Catholic, an untreatable nationalist and a barely veiled royalist. In my country it's the up to eleven version of conservatism. Which means that (where American ideas of politics and values are concerned) I view everything remotely liberal (in all senses of the term, not only economic) as something probably begotten by the Devil to annoy honest people.

I'm target of both sides of the political spectrum:

- I'm staunch Atheist, staunch pro-LGBT Rights guy and pro-choicer, and anticlerical guy, whose role model is Christopher Hitchens.

On the other hand:

- I'm staunch classic liberalist who is against increased social expenditure, and for lowering taxes and lifting restrictions for businesses. I'm also suspicious of union works and Greenpeace activists. And I'm also for increased military expenditure and sending soldiers on more missions abroad, especially when supporting the United States of America (Fuck United Nations). I think nuclear weapons are good way to increase prestige of my country.

Both sides would want to tear me apart from my views.

Talking political and economical views, or moral values?

Well, conservatives could try to tear me apart for supporting LBGT community and being outspoken atheist (my spiritual liege is Christopher Hitchens), while socialits for classic liberal views on economy.

More seriously, one of the bigger problems with political labels like "conservative" or "liberal" is that they can cover so much territory, and both sides have a habit of intentionally conflating things for the sake of their political biases.

(Please note I'm not excluding myself from the above. I try to keep it in mind, but... well, human. )

Rather late to the party, but I figured I'd throw in another tally to the Conservative chart. Generally speaking I identify as a traditional conservative, or a "Tory", and occasionally a Reactionary in terms of politics, ethics and social issues. I'm a monarchist, a fairly orthodox Anglican with Catholic/High Church leanings, a supporter of traditional authority figures, pro-life, pro-family and I'm interested in preserving or reviving traditional British cultures, values, languages and traditions.

That said, I also have numerous beliefs that are more usually associated with Left-Liberalism, such as gender equality, state-provided benefits and healthcare, anti-capital punishment and environmentalism.

By traditional British culture you mean culture of pre-Anglosaxons Britons?

Not quite /that/ traditional. :P But certainly the cultures of Welsh, Cornish, Scottish and Northern Irish people, as well as the English people and their regional variations. For example, I approve of attempts at reviving the Celtic languages and having them taught in schools. One of my favourite videos is one that shows a primary school in the Isle of Man, where its children are taught completely in Manx, a Gaelic language native to the island. I'd support similar schools throughout the British Isles, because those languages are part of our common heritage as Britons.

I myself support revivalists of Slavic religion even though I'm Atheist.

Slavic religious beliefs were surprisingly down to earth and with common sense.

Like Tolgron and Vlaix, I'm pretty much a traditionalist conservative. Catholic (Latin-loving), a loyal subject of HM the Queen, and amateur student of mediaeval and Renaissance cultures. Also, I listen to "classical" music, dress quite formally (for a university student!) and take immense pride in the values my family has held for 800 years.

Actually I'm fairly right-leaning, which is rare for someone in my demographic.

Would you lynch me for my MA thesis that argues for elimination of Latin and French from English legal language? Though that's not something new. King Edward (the one who was Henry VIII's son) and Olivier Cromwell had similar stance to mine in that matter.

I'm not what one would call a "conservative", but in terms of economic issues, I tend to lean on the right; as minimal of regulations as you can safely get is what I believe.

I am the same way. Economically I am fiscally conservative and believe more should be handled at the state government level, instead of the Federal Gvt - which I feel is a bloated unnecessary mess much of the time, but as anyone who knows me here knows that socially I am Libertarian, and with a world view I take more of a middle ground between the two that more fits a Liberal viewpoint. So yeah. I am a bastard mix of all 3 basically, so I really have a hard time voting as pretty much no candidates feel the way I do as they are all locked in to one party or the other.

Being Libertarian doesn't have to do with being Liberal or Conservative. Libertarians want small government with few rules. The opposite is Authoritarian, which means large government with many rules.

I'm not sure whether I can be considered "conservative", but I'm more on the Right side.

Conservatism seems to be hardly popular on TV Tropes though, considering how little replies this thread has.
