Just finished Under The Dome today, after working on it for about a month. It was decent. Kindle apparently makes it easier for me to finish doorstoppers - I do a lot of my reading while commuting or taking a lunch break, but would be hesitant to carry a physical thousand page book around with me.

Just how similar was it to The Simpsons movie?

It's similar to the Simpsons movie in that there is a dome over a town, which eventually goes away *

Great. You spoiled the end of the book and The Simpsons movie.

Oh man, The Passage. That ending, man. That ending.

Anyway, last one I finished was Mogworld. Currently I'm reading through The Painted Man.

I guess we could go... wherever we please.

[up][up] I found the ending hilariously frustrating. It kind of felt like the author just went "Hmm. This character seems a bit too happy for my liking. Let's see about that..."

Yeah, it is kind of a "Hey, let's ruin this happy ending for fun and profit!" thing. That said, the next novel makes it work.

I guess we could go... wherever we please.

I definitely recommend it. There's a bit of a jump forward in time, but you figure out what's going on pretty quickly. And there's no sudden cliffhangers/whatjusthappenedendings this time, either.

I guess we could go... wherever we please.

Brave New World. I liked this for bringing up interesting philosophical ideas. I didn't like it for spending so long introducing characters and elements of the dystopia itself that it took until halfway through the book for the actual plot to start.

Arthurs New Baby Book. I was at work (which was at an elementary school), I had five minutes to kill and I had never seen that one before.

Also, bored.

The Selection by Kiera Cass. Reminds me of the first book from the Chemical Garden trilogy, somehow.

I don’t even know anymore.
