That's horrible. +1 to pull.
Pretty bad. I would not mind hiding it below an ink stain.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe image is conveying that the original animation ruins the perception of Aquaman, but is very cluttered and messy. Pull.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Pull! PULL!
Maybe an image of goofy Aquaman and badass Aquaman with a caption or text "Who do you remember better?" or "What makes you think of the name "Aquaman""?
That's still screencap JAFAAC.
Well, no, it's not. It establishes two different versions of a character, which is what this trope is about. JAFAAC would be just one Aquaman.
Regardless, I'm saying if we decide to keep the current, we might as well streamline it by making the image look a bit nicer and clarifying what version we're preferring.
Your argument makes sense, but the viewer of the page would still need to be familiar with Aquaman.
The only familiararity I have with Aquaman is Mermaid Man and Seaman, and I get it. I agree . This image needs some serious cleaning. It looks like crap, but I think the message is right.
Here's my attempt:

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. This is a terrible trope. Are we sure it deserves a good image?
Huh?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI say replace the second image in 12 with one of the pictures from 15, because that's even more different, awesome, and portrayed in the same medium. The caption can stay the same.
I must be cruel, but to be kind That bad may begin, and worse be left behindI like 12.
As far as I can tell, this trope is either a duplicate of Adaptation Displacement or it's Complaining About Adaptation Displacements You Don't Like. Either way, I don't see how a picture of two Aquamen illustrates it.
That's a subject for Trope Repair Shop.

The image in 12 is fine, but I agree this trope needs a TRS. It just looks like complaining to me.
I agree this trope needs to go to TRS, but the gist of my post was supposed to be the part about not seeing how the proposed picture fits the trope.

Me neither.
What would be really cool is if we could get some headshots of the various adaptations with shocked or angry expressions and line them up above a pic of Superfriends!Aquaman so it's like they're reacting to him.
Clock is set.
Any other thoughts on this? I can resize 12 since it's to big.

The image for Ink-Stain Adaptation just shows various screencaps of Aquaman with a key labeling that "size = popularity". I had to reread the article twice to understand just what the image was trying to convey. It was only after that to find out that it doesn't really tell me anything about the trope, and for what I know, it might just be about the declining popularity of Aquaman adaptations and nothing else. The image could count as the screencap version of Just A Face And A Caption.
I suggest either a picture of an ink stain, preferably on a shirt, or maybe a Visual Pun of the franchise with the logo of the offending installment in the shape of an ink stain over the other installments.
