Ghostface doesn't do puns? You'd think a guy like him/her/it would use those at least once in a while.
And hey, I kinda thought "Heads up" was clever...in a bizarre sense.
(I mean, when someone says "Heads up" to you, what are the odds that they'll plop a severed head in your direction?)
Ok so this isn't your Ghostface. Well, maybe this is intentional. What if they're purposefully telling us the stuff they said in order to catch us with The Reveal or the Wham Shot? I may not have MTV, but you probably do, its first episode is on in roughly 13 hours from now, so how about waiting until the end of the first episode before you conjure up a plan for not wanting to live on this planet anymore?
Wow. A bit extreme much? Trailers exist for us to judge them. That's the entire point of trailers.
I've seen 'heads up' followed by a decapitation moment a billion times. It's kind of cliche.
Sure it's possible that this is all some elaborate set up, but I do not think that MTV has nearly the capable writers to do that. They are not known for quality writing. I also have my doubts that such a plot twist would be worth it.
Extreme? How is anything I'm saying extreme? If you want extreme...anything, you should look up a troper named Darkton. Usually hangs out at the thread for new Cartoon Network pilots. The guy trashes the perfectly fine lineup of CN's shows like the wind.
...
...Well. Not to sound crass and rude, but please excuse me for not having seen that kind of scenario as much as you evidently have. It ain't cliche in my book.

The 'Not Live On This Planet' comment was a bit unneeded and I'm confused why anyone would complain about someone judging a trailer. It sounded like another of those 'Don't judge until its out!' things when trailers are inherently for the purpose of judgement anyway.
And, just because you have never seen that joke doesn't make it any less cliche. I'm actually kind of shocked that you've somehow never seen that kind of a joke before.

Targetmaster Joe, what is the issue? What do you think trailers are for.
So how about that pilot, eh?
I saw a clip of it while watching an after show part of Teen Wolf, and I really liked what I saw so far.
I am going to watch episode 1 tonight, and episode 2 if I can find it.
EDIT: I loved it, loved it so much once I start my acting class I might try to audition for a role in it.
The whole "deformed tragic villain killer" thing was great, and I felt shocked and horrible watching those cops nonchalantly gun him down without second thought, breaking their own word...
Also, it gave me a chill, watching the killer rise up like that.

Finally, I'm not the only one who sees potential in this.
Sad that I cannot catch the episodes as they air - I don't know what channel MTV is and On Demand for AT&T is shit.
Saw Hello, Emma - le sigh, Emma...why would you want Brooke to stay alive?
Also, Jake, you're kind of crazy. Okay, more than crazy.
Still, the killer has to have some sort of handle on tech to impersonate Audrey for Rachel and then call up Emma to impersonate a security guy...
The show's level of writing and acting is just way too low to accomplish the "make you care about the characters long term before they get serial killed off" goal. Most of the characters are either assholes or cutouts, most problematic of them being the main character, who is a total non-entity and blank slate.
Bex Taylor-Klaus as Audrey is completely wasted on this show with the MTV model types. She's actually a fine young actress (see her in The Killing's third season), her character most definitely should have been the protagonist instead of a supporting role, she would actually have a presence.
Then I suppose we have different opinions.
I liked the third episode, hope to find the fourth on some time, and I don't see "bad writing."
At this point, I just wish they'd done their own thing instead of Scream.
Just watched the second Scream. Honestly, I think you're nitpicking.
That they take the meta approach by acknowledging this is a "slasher gone TV series" already gives me good vibes, I think that's one of the most important elements of Scream, that self-awareness, that Leaning on the Fourth Wall.
Of course, I've only watched the 8-minute preview a few weeks back, I can't speak to the show's overall quality.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Those Will Hallucinations...Urgh fucking urgh. After that I felt like I needed to vomit. People should not talk after their head is sawed into...its like the American Werewolf in London thing but somehow worse. Uuuugh I will have fucked up nightmares tonight.
Edit - and you know what, I did!
Fuck you Brandon, and your demented sense of humour.
I never thought I'd be this affected by the death of some dumb jock...

Started Season 2 and... -tumbleweed rolls by- woah this thread.
Anyway, apparently the ratings dropped in the second season so they're rebooting it for the series.
With a -le gasp- black male lead!
And it's 6 episodes! Instead of 10! Which might be to it's benefits, admittedly.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!'Member when Scream had a TV show on MTV?
(Ooh, I 'member!)
'Member when we were supposed to get a third season, but everything was blurry because Harvey Weinstein turned out to be a massively wretched creature of evil?
(I 'member, but I kinda wish I didn't)
GUESS WHO'S BAAAAAACK?! ON VH1???
'Member when we were supposed to get a third season, but everything was blurry because Harvey Weinstein turned out to be a massively wretched creature of evil?
... Who? Seems like I missed something here... care to enlighten me on what happened exactly, please?^^
The Harvey Weinstein scandal? Read it here.
It affected Scream's third season because The Weinstein Company had dibs on the Scream franchise in general.
And it looks like the original video was gotten rid of. Huh.
Here's a mirror:
Didn't know that Paris Jackson was going to be in this
So... anybody catch Season 3? Thoughts? Feelings?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
Shockingly, I kind of liked the use of technology (even if its REALLY obvious that she isn't actually texting).
But, Its not Scream. That's not Ghostface. Trenchcoat? Leather Gloves? Faded Blue Mask? God, Edge Lord, King of all that's edgey and dark.
Ghostface taunts his victims. He teases them as someone they know (done correctly here) or some similar guise before he becomes violent and psychopathic and yells. And the first kill is ALWAYS on display for everyone and there is a message sent each time. And Ghostface doesn't do puns for his reveal. "Heads up"? Really.
Its missing the mask, and the iconic knife. Its missing the Genre Savvy. Its missing Roger L. Jackson's deep voice that quickly goes from calm and nice, to abrasive, to full on psychopath in seconds. This just... Isn't Ghostface.
At this point, I just wish they'd done their own thing instead of Scream.
