It has one good thing going for it: Mega Man in the centre. Which probably is enough to tip the favour. I like the current, but the suggestion is also very good.

It's a tad cluttered, but I do like it overall more than the current.
The suggestion is slightly better than current, for the reasons enumerated in the OP.

P.S. On a side note, I love how Vent is positioned right next to Mega Man Volnutt. The two look similar!

Good enough. It's up with links to the page at Mega Man Network where it was found and the artist's Pixiv page. If anyone has a Pixiv account and can find the original on the artist's page, I think that would be a better link.
