Hey is there a reason the page for the 2017 movie was deleted?

Didn't know we had one. If it was deleted, it's probably because we don't have anything completely concrete about the movie other than a cast and crew. There is very little to base a media page on. Just a few weeks ago it was rumored the names of the characters would all be changed, the title might include a subtitle, etc. Once there is an official announcement with a title and poster that would be the time a media page can go up.

I know this is old but no one corrected this so here it goes.

Abare Max(The Triassic Ranger) was not a separate ranger. It really irked me no one corrected this, no offense to the person who said it.

There was even trouble with that on Power Rangers. The writers and producers wanted to make Devin (Cassidy's friend) into the american Abare Max only to realise that, no, he's just a power up for the Red Ranger.

And Conner just HAD to have a Battlizer so they gave him that on top of Abare Max.

I think the creators of MMPR knew they were going to get into trouble with Moral Guardians about all the violence in the show. Why? Because they seem to try and compensate for it by making the Rangers ultra "goody goods". It's as if they were saying "See? When they are not fighting, they are perfect role models!" tongue

Started trying to catch up a bit on Dino Charge.

Dino Charge Gold (Ivan, IIRC?) seems like a pretty cool guy. His debut was really cool.

Watching History Of Power Rangers again, since Megaforce is supposed be out next week. Man, Makes me want to binge Jungle Fury Again. And maybe RPM.

I think I do like Dai Shi/Jarrod more than Venjix though (the former was more interesting character-wise). But RPM is still my favourite season, and Dr. K my favourite PR character period.

I always wondered what the PR Universe's public would think of Rangers who started out evil suddenly turning good. Now Tommy and the Thunder Rangers I can see how the public would be unaware of their initial misdeeds as they never fought the core teams in front of witnesses. And the Dragonzord and Thunder Zords could be said to have been weapons that were previously under the control of the villains but were taken over by the Rangers.

But what about Trent and Ryan who attacked the Rangers in front of witnesses and were actively causing mayhem in front of civilians? Did the public just accept that these guys were brainwashed/manipulated and forgave them?

I don't know that the public ever saw who Trent and Ryan were under the masks.

Dino thunder everyone's I Ds are secret, but Lightspeed has them as publically known rescue op, but I still don;t think any of the random civilians saw Ryan when he was evil sans uniform and didn't put two and twp together that that new Tatanium ranger was the same guy who stole the morpher for the bad guys.

They can just always explain it as "yea we took the morpher from the bad guys".

Concept art for a rejected Power Rangers movie.

Say what you will, but Zordan and Alpha look pretty hardcore.

I can't help but respect these guys for trying to make some sillier aspects of Power Rangers like Alpha something that people can take seriously.

Fun visuals that might work in an indie comic book, but I think most are a little too abstract to work as the template for live action material. Alpha in particular looks more like an amorphous (and intimidating) bio-mechanical creature than the friendly Robot Buddy he should be. Rita too doesn't have any real detailing on her, all we can make out is her face and the staff. Zordon is kind of distracting by seeing most of his (naked) body in the tube, although evoking Dr. Manhattan is a clever approach. I do like the wide angle Command Center pic.

I think the ultimate struggle with a big budget Power Rangers film would be the presentation of the Zords. Making it a center figure with a bunch of other vehicles plugging in as limbs would just feel "toyetic." Devastator in Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen got away with it mostly because of how animalistic it moved. The original Power Rangers film just embraced the b-movie feel. But a Megazord should always have a regal, warrior look to it.

In general I don't like it when random parts come off Zords and attach to something else, but I always liked the Super Zeo Megazord for its atypical combination scheme. It's the most symmetrical Megazord in both design and coloring, excepting the Megazords that aren't combinations of smaller zords.

Did they have to go for the fanservice look for Rita?

Wow, so Dino Charge is actually....dare I say it, good? I mean its still Power Rangers, but it doesn't have the "Cringe" factor I usually associate with it. Haven't seen that since RPM.

Yeah. RPM and Jungle Fury are the least cringey seasons for me personally.

It's not perfect but it's pretty damn good. I didn't watch the last few series - I'm not dedicated enough to watch series with a bad reputation - but I've seen a general consensus that it's a massive step up.

It helps that the guy running Dino Charge, Judd Lynn, was responsible for some of the stronger PR seasons from 1997-2001, and he also worked on RPM when the original producer, Eddie Guezzelan, was fired. He was absent for Samurai and Megaforce, which were produced by an out-of-touch Tzachor

Details on the 2017 season, Power Rangers Ninja Steel

The good news is Lynn is staying on for this new season, so if you like DC so far, you're in good hands again

So should we start a page for Ninja Steel yet or wait a bit?

We don't have a massive amount of information but you could start one if you want - that synopsis, plus constant PR tropes cross-referenced with Ninninger is a start.

Ninja Steel is looking to be fairly different from Ninninger. Ninjas V evil spirits to Ninjas V game show space monsters. Although I suppose 'literally on space TV' is kind of a step up from 'not hiding'. Changing the nature of the villains is understandable, as Yokai are very much a part of Japanese culture and wouldn't translate as well if they stayed evil spirits. I feel like it's going to get annoying if they consistently call them 'throwing stars' though - shurikens or just stars would probably work better. Lynn sticking around is definitely a good sign.

They're skipping ToQger? I thought they had to adapt every series which was why skipping Go-Busters was so strange and unexpected and even then I've heard Go-Busters is being mixed with Dino Charge which seems to be true since the villain introduced in the second to last episode of Dino Charge shares similarities with Enter from Go-Busters.

It seems they have the power to skip seasons now. Toei might have relented given that they're going slower.

Apparently the reason for skipping To Q was that trains aren't popular enough.

That and the erection Megazord.

I'm not overly fond of Ninninger and it's complete lack of a theme on the zords though. Seriously, it has some of the worst zord design ever (And their megazord has random legs jutting out of its chest). Between ToQger's awful train mechs, Ninninger's designs, and the upcoming Sentai's Pizelated Animals / Minecraft designs, I'm not sure anyone at Bandai / Toei can design cool mechs anymore.

The legs aren't really random, the chest is made by a humanoid mech sitting down in another mech. But yeah, it's not the best design.

Besides the legs the mech looks pretty great really. Besides i'm exited for the setting. Hey game show alien monsters vs. ninja rangers sounds awesome.
