I'm pretty sure that line refers to Emerald's origins as a poor street rat that had no home to speak of, and thus spent most of her life out on the dirty streets trying to survive. This makes sense to me considering the very next line is "Delusion / I'll steal til you're blind and defeat you from inside your mind," which refers to Emerald's illusion powers.

And I interpret "Not Fall in Love With You" as a song from *Sun's* perspective towards *Blake.* This makes sense to me considering when this song was played in the show, it was after Team SSSN's victory in "New Challengers."

So is it just me or are the acoustic versions of "This will be the Day" and "Time to say Goodbye" absolutely beautiful? Casey Lee Williams is just so talented the songs work even with the much more subtle performance.

Regarding the whole "people turning to dust when they die" thing, I'm fairly certain that's a result of Cinder incinerating Pyrrha with her power, rather than anything like that. Yang's arm doesn't turn to dust when its cut off, though it does "bleed" glowing yellow sparks, it doesn't disintegrate like Pyrrha did. Moreover, Mercury's father leaves a body behind after his offscreen fight with Mercury, and it's noted in one of the WOR segments that Grimm dissolve into nothingness when they die, which wouldn't be noteworthy if humans did that as well.

Maybe besides the fact that she was desintegrated to not leave a body behind, maybe she ascended to a Higher plane of existance? Or became Juane's stand?

I doubt it.

You know i want to see? A goliath in action. The so called "intelligent Grimm" haven't even showed up in the last finale.

So she didn't turn into dust, those were just lit ashes.

That makes more sense, thank you for bringing down the truth.

Now as far as whether we can expect a sympathetic backstory for Cinder, I'd say that's quite probable. I'm also somewhat inclined to think that she and perhaps also Salem will turn out to be Well Intentioned Extremists in the end. The fact that the show is holding basically everything about the villains' plans and motivations so close to its chest makes me suspect there's going to be a twist in that department. Well, that, and the way Ozpin is being set up to be a Broken Pedestal of epic proportions.

I wouldn't even rule out him being revealed as the true true Big Bad, or at least an antagonist, and if not I'm still fairly sure his past mistakes are going to be something truly monstrous; ie that he is responsible for Salem being the Last Of Her Kind in a way that is not even remotely a Justified Genocide.

Salem serves a powerful being who offers to help her get revenge on Ozpin but is using her for its own purposes

Though Really any Sympathy Cinder could have has been shot by the act cause really her killing Phyrra comes off as petty spite _____

The problem with the notion that Ozpin is hiding some deep dark secret... is Look at where those accusations are coming from.

Cinder, Emerald and Merc 's view on the situation is most likely as in the dark as everybody elses cause its most likely from Salem...

and Does Salem strike you as someone who'd tell you the Full Story and her own personal accountability in it?

Salem is literally burning the world down like a bitter Ex girlfriend who can't accept that quite possibly it all went to **** and she had some responsibility in it! ****ing Never My Fault *****es

Granted the Truth is most likely somewhere between the two extremes

Ozpin probably has a dark secret but Salem is being a little drama queen and blowing it out of proportion

There is a second version that plays during the credits

So we've already got at least 3 Arkos songs, 1 Renora song, and 1 Black Sun Song. When are we going to get a Bumblebee song.

Considering how much of FF 8 has been lifted so far, I'm expecting Ozpin's only crime to be that maybe he helped Salem get her start (by accident) and keeps his true battle hidden from even the people fighting in it ala Headmaster Cid. And that he probably thinks nothing of tossing individuals to the blender for the greater good like he probably did to Summer.

This could make him not nearly as benevolent as he seems, and he might have even done some horrible things (If you follow the notion that he intentionally manipulated Pyrrha into getting herself killed so Ruby would lose a friend and activate her eyes) but at the end of the day he's on humanities side and Salem isn't. Ozpin's been keeping the world afloat for a long time. Salem goes on about how she wants humanity to burn and be wiped out so there's really nothing good about her.

Cinder Mercury and Emerald have tragic backstories but that's just so there's an explaination about why they do what they do and they didn't just wake up one day and decide to be evil because evil is fun ala Rita Repulsa. They still decided past a point to share their suffering with other people, which is an evil act and they clearly have distain for their fellow man and think nothing (or actively get joy) from killing them and ruining lives.

I mean Freddy Kruger had abuse in his backstory to explain why he was so evil, but that doesn't make him sympathetic in any way.
