Root beer is in the category I like to call "Weird American Stuff".
Nobody drinks it here.
Apparently hated in Italy for tasting like medicine, but then again, their cola is ridiculously bitter (Chinoto)
Ah, so it was Barq's Root Beer I was addicted to when I spent a few months in that treeless desert known as Southern Alberta back in the Nineties?
Cue queue of folks lining up to tell me it wasn't available in Canada then.
Barq's I like since it's the only root beer with caffeine and it has kind of a "darker" taste.
If you like a root beer that's somewhat sweet but still has a great head and body, I recommend Sprecher. Best root beer ever. Second place is the on-tap root beer at Culver's restaurants, which are mostly only in the Midwest.
If you like root beer, you should try birch beer. It's much stronger in flavor.
If you like root beer that tastes like ass, then try Mug.
Don't ask me about root beer, I only had A&W and paid almost two bucks for a can.
On the other hand, the local cola turned up in a new flavor while nobody was looking. And it's chocolate. Cherry Coke, sure, Pepsi Twist, all right, Vanilla Coke, they tried this one too, but chocolate? That's news.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisIrn Bru. Red Kola if I'm in Miseryton, Scotland.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiYou've never had Root Beer from Monticello then.
And hells to the yeah on Birch Beer
Root beer isn't highly available over here in Treasure Island. We have almost everything else, including Vanilla Coke again at last, but no root beer.
I could import it but it's pretty bloody dear.
Now you know what I go through to get Sprecher. Nearest store that has it is 2 hours away and they sell out of it crazy-fast unless I order in advance of a trip downstate. And even then it's $1.49 a bottle plus deposit.
I feel like I should get a passport and a few thousand dollars just in order to bring root beer to people who don't have it available to them.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI wonder if Kickstarter could fund a trans-world import drive for root beer?
You know what's the biggest load of bollocks over here?
We had Irn-Bru. Advertising campaign with a celebrity. The whole shebang. But it flopped, and the only Irn-Bru I saw recently was a horribly overpriced can in specialty food shop that also has canned chipotles, mole, weird Japanese stuff, American cereals, beer from all over the world (stuff like Kirin, for example), curry powders, root beer, some weird Far East drinks etc.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisThat just sounds weird having someone say that cereal and root beer is in an exotic food shop along side weird Japanese stuff and mole.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elsePoland. That explains everything.
Also, not just any cereal. Those are brands that are unavailable in normal stores here. Same goes for that American mustard that looks like cartoonish yellow goop - it's hardly a normal thing here (although the neighborhood store has like five different sorts of German mustard). We also don't have root beer in normal shops.
Also, just opened that chocolate soda. Holy fuck is it awesome.

"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisWell, chocolate soda is pretty good.
The problem is that yellow mustard is so common here, it's harder to find brown mustard, which I prefer.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseHow sad that Irn-Bru failed, that's a soda that Needs More Love. Only found it at Celtic specialty shops and festivals here in the states.
If all chocolate soda was to be traded for Irn-Bru I would not be sad in the least.
RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!
Anyway, Pepsi Max is definitely the only diet soda that tastes nice.
I loooove Dr. Pepper and cream soda. Also partial to root beer and any kind of Faygo.
ppppppppfeiufiofuiorjfadkfbnjkdflaosigjbkghuiafjkldjnbaghkdOh come on, Irn Bru is awesome.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I like all three, don't make me choose. ;_;
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSMountain Dew, all the across the sky.
It tastes good, it gives you energy, and it's pretty much the official gaming drink.
Your Honor...@ Tam. Tesco sell root beer in the US section, and the Philippines section in the World Foods aisles.
I’m so alone without you. To call up on the weekends with my cellular phone.Root beer is a U.S./Canada thing interesting (I've never been much of a fan of it actually, but still surprising)
1.Lemon-lime 2.Cream Soda 3.Pepsi 4.Coke-a-cola
@Daft: Faygo? Aren't they the company that makes a "creme cola"? That looks and tastes like stale cherry cough syrup? Sorry but that's literally the worst soda I've ever had.
Which kind? Barq's? A&W? Mug? Some fancy stuff I've never heard of?
