Probably a dumb question, but given Ankh's bird motif and fire powers (and the lack of a non-legendary fire bird pokemon), I figured I might as well give it a shot. Would putting a legendary in the "Future Pokemon Team" section, for much later in the RP be acceptable or should we just avoid them in general?
Burn up, hurricane of justice! For now, avoid them.
I'll need to fill out the rest once I finalise Tsuna's team (Being limited to six when he has at least ten expies to use is a tad difficult...). And work out what the hell his starter could have done at some point.
Also, for moves... how many should we put? How strong would the starters be, level 5-10, in game terms?
- Name: Tsunayoshi Sawada. Also known as
No-gooduglyTsuna. - Age: 14
- Appearance: You can tell he's ugly, right?◊
- Series of Origin: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
- Personality: A loser. Bad at sports, bad at academics, no friends to speak of... despite that, though, he's a pretty nice guy, albeit rather cowardly. And if his Pokemon Tutor has anything to say about it, he's also a capable and just leader with the skills top be both a powerful trainer, and an amazing mafia boss.
- Abilities: Nothing much, just a very awesome Pokemon Trainer... when Reborn throws a special Pokeball at his head, turning Tsuna from a useless wimp into a hot-blooded Determinator.
- Backstory: Just your typical, useless, no-good teenager... until a baby claiming to be from the mafia showed to be his 'tutor', teaching him the ways of the Pokemon Trainer and Mafia. Of course, Tsuna wants nothing to do with that, but the universe apparently says otherwise. And now he's poised to take a grand journey to strengthen himself.
- Starter Pokemon
- Name: Yamamoto
- Species: Oshawott
- Personality: A laid-back Pokemon that likes to hang out with his friends. Yamamoto's generally playful and much prefers having fun to fighting. But when he does fight... he's good. And when it comes to protecting his trainer, very, very good.
- Backstory: A Pokemon that was given to Tsuna by Reborn as a gift from the current head of the Vongola family. It was recently hatched and showed a lot of potential.
- Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun
- Future Pokemon Team:
And since he'll be a satellite character, might as well give a few details about Reborn here. The most he'll do is let Tsuna deal with things, or throw a Pokeball at his head to motivate him.
- Name: Reborn
- Age: Unknown.
- Appearance: If you'd be so kind◊
- Series of Origin: Katekyo Hitman Reborn
- Personality: A rather calm individual who is rarely phased by anything that happens. He has a tendency to tease his students for lulz. If you're insane enough to want to make him mad, however, just go ahead and try to screw with the Vongola.
- Abilities: Immense skills at Pokemon battling that he will not be demonstrating, excellent at intimidation, very knowledgable about Pokemon, and a master of disguise◊.
- Backstory: All that's known about him is that he's a hitman for the Vongola family. And reputedly the most powerful trainer in their midst by a wiiiiiiiiide margin. He was asked to become Tsuna's tutor, in order to train him to become a successor for the leadership of the family, which he accepted.

Would the starter's backstory be how they met their trainer?
Hey, so we aren't allowed to start with say: Bagon or Larvitar right?
Ah well. It was worth a shot.
How about pseudo-legendaries? I know we're not allowed them as starters, although I suppose since that's due to brokenness that would only show up much later in the RP, I've probably already got my answer.
Sorry that I keep asking about powerful pokemon, I'm just looking for options to fill Ankh's team.
edited 8th Mar '13 2:35:18 PM by tachikaze
Burn up, hurricane of justice!Actually, you are allowed to use these two. They seem to be at the same level.
As endgame options? I'm OK with it. Let's see what Moe and Fuse think.
edited 8th Mar '13 2:35:07 PM by Stratofarius
As end-game I'll allow pseudos IF you can explain them well to me or Moe.
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyI'd allow pseudo-legendaries on your endgame team, but on the condition that you only take one. Because filling your whole team with them would be kind of dull, wouldn't it?
- Name: Merasmus & The Bombinomicon
- Series: Team Fortress 2
- Age: 35
- Appearance: Merasmus◊ & The Bombinomicon◊
- Personality:
- Merasmus: While he generally is a nice guy, he also tends to be a bit lazy and prides himself on his magical abilities a little too much.
Sometimes he also tends to be a little overly dramatic, but he isn't evil.
That is, unless you really manage to annoy him. Then things might get a little out of hand...He especially doesn't like anything pertaining to his roommate... - The Bombinomicon: This book doesn't seem to care for Merasmus very much, but likes all things explosive.
While his jokes might get a little practical sometimes, he isn't mean in the slightest and rather nice actually.
- Merasmus: While he generally is a nice guy, he also tends to be a bit lazy and prides himself on his magical abilities a little too much.
- Abilities: A bit of magic.
- Backstory: Merasmus has been living in an old castle for his entire life. Somehow he got his hands on an eldritch tome of lore, the Bombinomicon, which is granting him most of his magical abilities. Later on he got a roommate, who frequently wreaked havoc on his nerves. Currently, Merasmus is returning from WizardCon in Meonam, he figured, that he might as well become a Pokémon master if only for the purpose of not having to return home to his roommate yet.
- Starter Pokemon
- Name: Erebos
- Species: Gastly
- Personality: A mischievous little trickster who loves to play pranks on others. Mostly due to this, the Bombinomicon and him are on quite good terms with each other. However, in a time of need, he will always be there for Merasmus.
- Backstory: A few days after Merasmus aquired the Bombinomicon, Erebos came floating into his castle, drawn there by the power of the book. Intrigued by this creature, Merasmus decided to adopt him, maybe learning something new about the ghost world in the process (and scaring his roommate of course).

Hm, might need to look for another character anyway. Even if I were to throw in a pseudo-legendary (Beldum, by the way, since Ankh's kind of got the whole "disembodied floating hand" thing going on too when he's not possessing someone) and make the Pokemon equivalent of his Trademark Favourite Food a team member, I'm still left with two empty slots.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!Forgot to add "Abilities" to the list... my bad, guys.
Should probably add a field for the character's series of origin too, I suppose.
Why do you always gotta be right?
Name: Iskander (aka: Alexi)
Age: Thirty ish
Appearance: bam:[1]
Personality: Boistrous, loud, hammy- in another life he might have been a king. Its hard not to like him: he is typically generous and is good company- he is what happenes when one dreams big and keeps dreaming. However should someone play the coward or scorn him inspite of his friendliness then his wrath is to be feared. you know: the nicer the person the scarier they are when angry.
Background: Iskander was always a guy with big dreams whether it was becoming a reputable ranger or pokemon breeder nothing seemed out of reach. Iskander managed to land himself a job as a Pokemon ranger which thus brought him into contact with some of the rarest and powerful pokemon in existance- should he have a pokedex the others would find his experience with pokemon quite extensive. But an achievable dream was not what Iskander wanted-Glory lies beyond the horizon- was his motto and so he now aims towards a truely monumentous dream. He would see Arceus face to face. Why? Because he wanted to. On the way to this ultimate goal he figured that he would have to take down the gyms of all the cities and even bring low the pokemon league. Thus Iskander is in the main city of his world, hoping to make a start to what will become a saga of conquest.
Starter Pokemon:
- Name: -
- Species: Aron
- Personality: Rash, hot headed and full of pluck- this little guy will take on anything if it thinks it can win. nevertheless it is not easily frightened and even if it is its courage and pride will not let it back down.
- Backstory: Somehow or other it was separated from its nest and parents, it wondered quite a long way which explains why its out of its territory. By the time Iskander found it it was starving and pretty much useless but after some nursing it is now back in health. It is fiercely loyal to his trainer.
- Moves:
- Headbutt
- Return
- Future Pkmon team:
- Tauros:[2] (The divine bulls of Zeus)
- Tauros
- Tyrannitar:[3] (Represents Iskander's rule as a king)
- Rapidash:[4] (Iskander's legendary horse-Ive forgotten the name)
- Aerodactyl:[5] (Represents the ancient power of Iskander and his legend)
Of course he gets these only as their lowest evolution so it'll be some time till he gets his endgame.

Name: Khârn the trainer
- Age: 20-ish
- Series: Warhammer 40 K
- Appearance: A very large individual, scarred from countless spars with the local fighters, wildlife and Pokemon.
- Personality: Boisterous Bruiser / Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: A great believer that strength is the only trait worth having, Khârn is convinced that the only way to solve one's problems is to defeat them with brute force (whether this translates to actual violence determined on a case-by-case basis). As such, he greatly distrusts anything having to do with psychics or other supernatural abilities (be they trainers or Pokemon), as he considers bypassing physical defenses to be somehow cheating.
- Backstory: Hailing from one of the mining towns of Divano, Khârn is frequently found trying to improve his strength with such feats as arm-wrestling the mining company's Machamp or Meditating Under a Waterfall. A friend suggested a fishing trip as a less violent alternative, and later the Cintro tournament once Khârn had found his first Pokemon.
- Abilities: Above-normal strength and physical resistance.
- Starter Pokemon:
- Name: Krok
- Species: Totodile
- Personality: Like his owner, tends to get into fights with anything, relying on its physical strength first and foremost.
- Backstory: A fishing trip ended rather abruptly for Khârn when he found a newborn Totodile clamping hungrily onto his hand. Three hours, two crowbars, seven bottles of soap and assistance from a neighbor's Bayleef later, Khârn had a new Pokemon.
- Moves: Bite, Rage
- Future Pokemon Team:
- Future Pokemon One: Fearow
- Future Pokemon Two: Gyarados
- Future Pokemon Three: Ursaring
- Future Pokemon Four: Zangoose
- Future Pokemon Five: Tyranitar
Re: Non-legendary firebird: Blaziken.
I am insulted, insulted I say, at the implication that music of any sort is involved in prayer to the Blood God!

Ability and series fields added.
- Name: Toph Beifong
- Age: 18
- Series of Origin: Avatar The Last Airbender
- Appearance: She's totally pointing at the sky.◊ Also, those things blocking her eyes can be lifted, if she ever needs to.
- Personality: Toph could not care less for what other people think about her. She sleeps on the ground, lives a semi-nomadic life, and you know what? She likes it. Independent, sarcastic, stubborn, direct, confrontational... those words are often used by angry adults to describe Toph. A runaway, she loves her life and takes pride in it, saying that she is not only the greatest earthbender in the world, but also saying that she is in the path to become the greatest trainer in the world. One thing you must not do is show pity towards her just because she's blind. While as a little girl, she might have just pointed and yelled at you, as a teenager, she might even get into fights just because someone mentions these words. But Toph is also loyal to her friends, and will jump through any hoops to make sure they're safe.
- Abilities: Toph can not only earthbend, but also use her seismic sense, which allows her to see by sensing the vibrations flowing through the ground.
- Backstory: Toph was born in a rich family, who immediately shielded her daughter from the outside world in the fear that her blindness would cause her to injure herself. Once she discovered she could earthbend, she made her way to the outside world and lived in a cave for a long time, living with a few Earth Pokemon. Her days inside that cave made her decide to never go back home, and she started living as a runaway thief on the other side of the Island. That is not only where she met Diggy, her first Pokemon, but also Zuko, a lone firebender who took her under her wing. At first, Toph saw Zuko as a way for her to get more money, but as they grew up together, she started seeing him as her one true friend.
- Starter Pokemon
- Name: Diggy
- Species: Drillbur
- Personality: Diggy's personality seems like a perfect match with Toph's. He likes fighting, and he's also very, very impatient, turning into a grouchy Pokemon when hungry. Will always be there for his trainer, and sometimes, he can be seem mimicking her movements, almost as if he looks up to her.
- Backstory: One of the Pokemon Toph lived with during her days in the cave, Diggy decided to separate himself from his colony, where he was often chastised for always trying to do something different, instead of just following the routine.
- Moves:
- Scratch.
- Mud Sport.
- Future Pokemon Team:
- Donphan
- Machamp/Machoke
- Golem
- Steelix
- Tyranitar
Fuse, could you work out a team for Toph? Pretty please?

And before I nod off to rest, everyone, please update your sheets to add the two missing fields.
My suggestion:
- Dugtrio
- Steelix
- Gigalith
- Crustle
- Sandslash
Already done!

- Name: Gentaro Kisaragi
- Age: 18
- Series of Origin: Kamen Rider Fourze
- Appearance: "My name is Gentaro Kisaragi! I'm the man who's gonna make friends with every trainer in this league!"◊
- Personality: Gentaro looks like a delinquent- a short jacket over a t-shirt, baggy pants, and his hair in a pompadour. This is despite the fact that he's actually very friendly and wants to make friends with people from around the world, claiming to have one hundred friends in his hometown (Human and Pokemon alike) already. They will vouch for this. He is willing to go the extra mile and do bizarre things to get to know someone he wants to befriend better. He puts friendship above anything else, and values every friend that he has. He is generally very earnest and very thick-skinned, as well as not being very perceptive and at times can actually be very dense.
- Abilities: After so long living with his grandfather (an actual former delinquent), he's a surprisingly competent fistfighter, able to hold off multiple human opponents at once.
- Backstory: Gentaro lives with his grandfather Goro Kisaragi after his parents died in a traffic accident when Gentaro was in third grade. His parents had a job at a space center that Amonagawa was built around that (as Gentaro stated) went above both his and his grandfather's head, but they always were proud when their son made friends. His father also told him that he needed to keep his friends close because they would eventually help him out in the long run.
Gentaro has tried every year to pass the test for a trainer's license. He's failed eight times in a row, starting when he was nine, and has only recently passed. He's on his way to begin his journey, Yuki the Cleffa at his side, and a desire to befriend anyone in his path. However, his journey to Meonam is to help him get some experience in Pokemon battles and a few Pokeballs.
- Starter Pokemon
- Name: Yuki
- Species: Cleffa
- Personality: A hyperactive Pokemon, Yuki has a great interest in anything star-shaped or related to space, often singing to herself while looking at the night sky with Gentaro. She knows his secret handshake and often does it to Pokemon she's meeting.
- Backstory: Gentaro found Yuki one night walking around a spot where a meteor hit outside Amonogawa on a very snowy night. The poor thing looked very cold and lost, so Gentaro decided to take Yuki home and nurse her back to health. When trying to let her back into the wild, though, the young Pokemon would simply follow him back to town. Eventually, he just decided to keep the Pokemon, vowing to take her with him when he finally passed the test for a trainer's license and journeyed across the world.
- Moves:
- Pound
- Charm
- Encore
- Name: Yuki
- Future Pokemon Team:
- Future Pokemon One: Crobat
- Future Pokemon Two: Elgyem (Kengo)
- Future Pokemon Three: Umbreon (Tomoko)
- Future Pokemon Four: Starmie
- Future Pokemon Five: Hitmonlee (Ryusei)

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime list
Discussion thread.
Roleplay thread.
Welcome one and all to the latest Pokemon RP. But this one has a twist! This one is based off a simple concept: what if characters from different fandoms were rebooted so they all came from one universe filled with Pokemon?" That's right, in this RP, you'll get to play as a character from any fandom who will go on the path to become a Pokemon Trainer! Let's go over the details...
How Does it Work?
It's simple. Since this is an alternate universe (or a "reboot"), you can change whatever you want for a character. You can change your character's backstory, his personality, and even his powers. If he has powers, though, you have to come up with an in-universe explanation for said powers. If you're confused, scroll down to my GMPC at the end of the thread.
Where Does it Take Place?
This RP takes place in a new Pokemon world, with a different history. The legends say that this world was created by Arceus after he was born of an Egg in the chaos at the beginning of everything. After creating the physical part of our world, such as the land and the sea, he created time, space, matter, antimatter, and even spirit, giving the task of guarding these "elements" to certain Pokemon, who went on to be known as the Legendary Ones.
The world is divided into four continents, all of them surrounded by water. Each continent is famous for a certain type of weather and terrain. The continent of Divano is famous not only for its giant set of beautiful fiery mountains and on the coast, but for its thriving mining industry, with multiple mines scattered across the rocky fields of the continent. The continent of Patrika is famous for its never-ending woods, its majestic lakes and rivers and its tourism industry, which lives on the natural wonders the continent provides. The continent of Grivato is the most unexplored of all four, having its cities located on the coast, where they thrive on fishing, while the rest of the continent is filled with sights that all adventures wish to see: gigantic mountains that touch the sky, ravines leading to complex underground mazes, dungeons hiding mighty secrets and much more.
All these three continents pale in comparison to the continent of Cintro, located in the center of the world. It is the biggest continent, filled with big cities, being the center of the world when it comes to economics, politics and Pokemon. The mix of urban and rural makes it a great continent to find wild Pokemon, and most trainers often go there to practice and perfect their Pokemon. Not only that, but Cintro is the home of the Pokemon League. To be more precise, the Pokemon League is in the floating island of Alago, located right above the middle of Cintro.
When it comes to technology, this world has the same level of technology as our world, except for a few changes: the government invests a lot in the Ministry of Pokemon Research, which leads to many labs all over the world working on machines that let people study the Pokemons in their natural habitat, without disrupting their lives, and when it comes to transportation, things are a bit more advanced- since all four continents are divided by water, major investments were made in the Ministry of Transportation, leading to the creation of Fast Ferries, bullet trains, suspended bridged and more, effectively connecting all four continents. Transportation between the main continent and the floating island is made through multiple sets of elevators that travel inside a tower connecting the two areas. There are also no firearms in this world, although rocket launchers and explosives do exist.
