Really guys, nobody post the latest trailer? I was almost going to make a thread!

Huh, seems like they have more background animations than Pillars of Eternity ._.
Pillars of Eternity doesn't have an alien world full of what look like Eldritch Abominations, so there was no need to focus on the background animations, rather than focus on the details and how the backgrounds look.
Also this is a pretty risky move for pre-rendered backgrounds. There is also that Obsidian basically said "Fuck it, have our engine, enjoy!"
One thing to add; is is me or in the bloody crossbow a bit too big compared to how they were in Numenera?

Bloody crossbow? ._.
Anyhoo, I'd like to correct, Numenera isn't just full of Eldritch Abominations, its full of smeerps called rabbits
Anyway, I'm surprised by animations(which does indeed make the world's weirdness easier to get) because I didn't think you can do that easily with pre rendered backgrounds :P

It's not as if the weapon was a Bloody Crossbow, or Fucking Crossbow... It's just that crossbows in the tabletop were not as big as in the trailer
And yeah, you're correct, a lot of the ideas from civilians of the Ninth World are supposed to be different from ours. So for example something that is Nightmare Fuel to us is going to be something they'll laugh off.
It's a lovely world, until you're torn apart by cute kittens...

Some backer managed got his hands into the Alpha Systems for the game that are just a tip of what is to come. One can share impressions, screenshots and even video as they like, so the guy is fine.
Warning: the video shows the very first scene to the game, prepare your spoilers

I lol'd that you can die in the intro text choices
Its good reminder of "Nope, common sense is indeed required"
Anyway, I love the narrator voice.

Some video of the Alpha shared by the developers
I like what I see, very much so. The encounter system seems influenced by The Temple of Elemental Evil, which is never a bad thing.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. To be fair if you wanna be accurate this is mostly the same way the Numenera tabletop worked.
When was this game supposed to be released, anyway? Hasn't Pillars of Eternity been out for over half a year now? And wasn't that game itself significantly delayed?

It's going into Early Access next week. So I guess it'll be finished by the end of the year, or wh'evs.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. To be fair some of that delay can be attributed to the Director's Cut of Wasteland 2 (then there is that inXile Entertainment is a much smaller company but that's already common sense), while Obsidian managed to fully focus on Pillars of Eternity, and Obsidian itself was getting close to being bakrupt while developing said game. If the Wasteland 2 Early Acess model is anything to go by the game is getting closer to release, hopefully the previous experience will allow them to get around the bugs quicker.

Actually, InXile isn't that small anymore. Fuckers have upgraded significantly, and own a second base of operations now. Fargo has always been a businessman, and now he's pretty much flaunting his shit again.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. You sound kinda angry about that .-. Or maybe I mistake swearing for wrong emotion
It's a mix of anger and admiration. Anger, because Fargo frankly is a bit of a tosser. I guess it comes with the businessman mentality.

Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence.Played the beta for 45 minutes.
...this is FUCKING WEIRD.
Well, a Planescape: Torment Spiritual Successor set within the wierd Numenera is gonna be very wierd. It was rather expected.

Good. After the enjoyable but disappointingly whitewashed Wasteland 2, here's hoping that Torment delivers some proper fuckery.

Ok, I guess.
