I think the old is better. They both illustrate the trope, but the new one may be confused with Hollywood Pudgy.
Check out my fanfiction!I changed it back...not only was it an undiscussed change, it was text-heavy and just focussed on Emp's butt while the old pic clearly shows a typically overweight woman fretting over it.
The new image is more prurient than the old one, so no, not agreeing on a switch for the reason given by the editor. Also, it's way too text-heavy.
Was the editor informed of the inappropriateness of the change?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI put in the edit reason to not make changes without going through IP...hopefully if he comes back he'll check the history before trying to change it again.
EDIT: Decided to PM him about it as well.
EDIT #2: Oh...oh well, can't hurt to double up.

Captainpat sent them a PM, 'cording to ATT.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Yep, should we send one to Etaukan as well?
Yes.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHold up, everyone, I've already PM'd etaukan...I missed the first edit to the pic. Everyone's been PM'd now.
I see that that Pall Mall guy also took off the pic from Chubby Chaser without a thread...captainpat put it back, but if he does it again to that page or this one, LMK.

I've reported them in ATT for another issue, for the record.
Otherwise, are we good with keeping this?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm not averse to finding pics from works we can actually pothole for these two pages since their pics are the most risque of the "safe pics from cut works" batch that we have, but they work really well for their respective pages so replacements would have to be good.
I have to say that both this one and the one from Chubby Chaser squick me out (the latter to a slightly lesser extent). Nothing to suggest right now though for either page. I don't think the Empowered one is really great/much of an improvement, though.
Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiI downsized the pics on both Weight Woe and Chubby Chaser by about 25%.
That works.
Check out my fanfiction! If the page didn't have that note that said that the image was chosen by image picking and to not replace without starting a new thread then was it still wrong for the troper to change it?
You don't take pics off pages (especially for tropes) without discussion unless you're Eddie. A pic can also be pulled if it fits one of the insta-pull reasons, but you still make an IP thread about it.

What the hell is squickish?
It's just a woman in underwear.

If none of them are supposed to be changed without discussion then why do only some of them say not to be removed without discussion if they were chosen by Image Pickin'. Does a person get in trouble either way but more trouble if the tropers chose it?
It's not "never change without discussion" it's "previous choices of IP don't get changed without discussion" and "image changes should best go to IP"
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI find it a little squicky also, but I cannot pinpoint why. Something about how it is framed feels fetishistic and my mind associates that with some sort of stuffing senerio pretty much automatically for some reason. Over-exposure to terrible internet porn, I guess. Not a reason to cut, just an explaination.
The image on Chubby Chaser makes me uncomfortable at least partly because of how much of a Personal Space Invader he's being.
There's something distracting about the other as well, but like willthiswork, I can't quite put my finger on it.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableWell, her anatomy is pretty out there.
Anything else?
While we're on the subject of Chubby Chaser, the manga that image comes from has been translated since then, and it looks better than the troper-translation that's there now.
Would I need to start an IP thread for that, or would it be okay to just switch it, since it's just a variation on the same image?
This one again.
Old image◊ from a hentai manga cut removed under the content policy but nonetheless verified by IP/mods. New image◊ added unilaterally by a bowlderising editor. I'm unsure of whether it's better as an image (as in, not taking into account the sources of either image) or not; thoughts?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
