Just because your abusive partner is addicted to crack doesn't make them not an abusive partner.
Ah, what a page-topper.

They're. Both. Abusive. It's shown pretty clearly. Hell, Lapis outright says she abused Jasper right back. Not every toxic relationship consists of one victim and one abuser. They can both be abusive, they can both be victims.
I'm sure that since the show is starting to show Jasper's weakness (i.e. an obsession with power), they'll find a way to redeem Jasper in a way that still acknowledges the things she's done.
Now, can we please change the subject?
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawSo, uh...which Steven Universe character would be good in a Death Battle?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Going back to mozzarella sticks, yes, they were fresh. And I eat plenty deep fried stuff, fish, chips, especially Mcnuggets. Really, I think it's the mozzarella that didn't got me - and I'm type of guy that would like to put molten cheese on everything.
Garnet, probably works best. We just don't know enough about characters who weren't in first episode.

I'm not so sure this will be a breather, given what's implied in this time period. This show's tone is all over the damn place though, so I could be wrong.
I'm glad Steven wasn't able to heal Centi right away. The Gems have told him Rose couldn't do it no matter how hard she tried. If Steven were able to fully restore her within an episode, that would take away some of Rose's credibility.
Okay glad might not be the right word, but it gave us more crumbs of the backstory, which is always great. I don't like heavy exposition dumps, as I've said before. Sometimes eleven-minute episodes have their advantages. It ensures the content has to be lean and to the point, cutting out any redundant material and exploring a small theme in its runtime.
Does Sapphire count as outside help? They might have to put Garnet up against another fused character. But going up against Vegito wouldn't really be fair.

It took probably longer then it should have, but it feels good to be finally caught up. Season Four has been pretty solid all around. I liked having some Beach City focus episodes after Lapis and Peridot got settled, it always nice to see what's going with the rest of town folk and get some real character development in. Though that combined with some of the stuff that's happened in the most recent episodes gives me the feeling that something really bad is about to happen by the end of the summer.
As an aside I'm kind of surprised at the amount of controversy the most recent episode has caused, but considering the subject matter I really shouldn't be.
It's Season 3, not Season 4.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Four? We're halfway through three right now.
Oh really when? How many weeks do we still have of Summer of Steven?
Two. Week 3 and 4 are supposedly gonna be a doozy.
Oh really when?,Oh.
Well I guess that's what I get for listening to Amazon's ordering and episode groupings.

Oh, yeah. Amazon's the worst when it comes to listing the episodes.
I just look at the Wikipedia article.
"The cruelest thing you can do to an artist is tell them their work is flawless when it isn't." -Ben "Yahtzee" CroshawObviously I'm quite late to this but I just have to say, 'And today on your 10 year old's favorite brightly coloured cartoon, a paper thin metaphor for an abusive lesbian relationship. Only on the Cartoon Network, the only network who's president's children are being held hostage a Rebecca Sugar.'
Remember that "Steven Universe" isn't all Marshmallows and Gumdrop eyes, it's actually just a facade that leads you into a false sense of security in order to buy into all the real-life drama it chooses to represent in a respectable manor. It's unlikely that anyone would ever see that by taking one surface level look at the show.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. After last night's episode, I really needed this kind of low-brow parody.
p.s. My thoughts/discourse on the episode aside, how weird would it be to see Malachite fly?
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. We've already seen Malachite fly.

So what I can get from that, Pearl is thirsty for any Quartz.
Jaspearl now confirmed canon.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.x4 Technically, Lapis actually did make her fly.
So I had an idea last night for a video and an awesome friend of mine made it for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-37u0fB-dk

Tweet it at Matt Burnett. He'll love it.

If the narrative was an addiction narrative, that would be fine. I'd probably feel more sympathetic towards Jasper. But Alone at Sea is an abuse narrative and Jasper is being played as the Bastard Boyfriend in the scenario.
Yes, I think with the right development it is possible for Jasper to be redeemed, but right now I really dislike the character. I also think it'll end up being a bit of a Broken Aesop if everyone expects Lapis and Jasper to start getting along at some point, or if they ever fuse again.
Oissu!
