Truth be told the Idol setting is a pretty good idea for a game. I expected atlas to make such a game dealing with the topics especially after the new P4 game. Its just they picked the worst fucking game to try the concept on.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I've heard people suggest there was no other way they could make the game besides turning it into an idol fantasy game. I'm no game designer, but I'm pretty sure there were many other ways to make this game without turning it into P 4 D without the commentary on the idol culture.
Mileena MadnessI just had a look at the designs of the FE characters, and while they certainly look... elaborate, there's almost NO way to tell who some of them are unless you were told upfront. I mean they look great, but still.
Also, Excellus. He looks like a goddamned Recognizer! With boobs!

When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefSpeaking of Excellus's "boingy bits," wasn't Excellus supposed to be a villainous transvestite in the Japanese version or something?
So, if they do make a sequel to this game, which Fire Emblem game do you think they will pull characters from? And if they do not go back to using performers and singers, what sort of premise do you hope the next game will have? And be more specific than just "An actual crossover with Shin Megami Tensei, please.
Personally, I want to see something like Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey with either characters from Fire Emblem Fates or Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
Well, when it comes to Fire Emblem series, it's Tellius or GTFO for me.
As for the theme, I dunno. Modern World is fine, I just don't like idols much.
I don't mind the entertainment industry. Just don't do it with mostly Idols.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Yeah. The Idols things seems to be the biggest problem.
I mean, even Japan was apparently giving a big What the fuck Atlus!? at that choice, and they love Idols.
The fact that this came out shortly after Persona 4 Dancing All Night which is less favourable to the Idol industry probably didn't help, alongside all the other shit people have brought up.
One Strip! One Strip! It wasn't that unfavorable and still overlooked a number of problems the idol industry has. Along with downplaying the number of creepy fans by just having it be the same four guys saying the same things.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Hopefully the hate can die down and people can either ignore this game for Fates and SMT IV Final or play it when it comes out. The sides that praise this game like it's perfection, and the people who bash it have really gotten on my nerves.
Also again I doubt Atlus will do a sequel to this one consider it might get less sales.
Mileena MadnessYeah. I don't know what Atlus was thinking.
It's like they wanted the concept to fail.
I'm still getting it myself for the time being, but there's no way we'll ever see something like this again.
Then again, there was the problem of the game being advertised way too soon, being hyped during the time there was no info, and then....this came up.
One Strip! One Strip! It was a marketing fiasco. I might get it just because of the "we will never get something like this again" factor, but I probably won't be standing in any lines for it.
Both because I won't be there for release, and because I highly doubt there will be any lines at all.
I don't know, I feel like Atlus has done more with worse circumstances.
I don't think any other Atlus games has been this hated. Sure they are games they sponsored that were hardly even thought about but this game...
Mileena MadnessYeah, but it's not like this is the worst thing ever or anything, it was just people building expectations for something they weren't going to get.
"People" in this case being mostly "Nintendo", with their reveal trailer.
Yeah, it's hard to blame the fans for this one; they started marketing this thing before they even knew what it was going to be about!
Still not a bad game, though.
Nope, but at this point, it doesn't matter if it's a bad game or not.
It was still a bad idea on a lot of other levels.
Still getting it. But that's because I'm odd that way.
One Strip! One Strip! So this thing just kinda fizzled, huh? Haven't heard anything about it in a while.
That's probably because a lot of people in this thread are avoiding spoilers and it's not out in the US or Europe yet.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Which is not to say that the game is bad.
Just not what most people wanted.
That's good to hear.
I don't think anyone doubted the gameplay would be good.
The premise threw many people off, angered many more, and scared a few away, but we all knew it would play great.
One Strip! One Strip!
I think main thing with idea is that Japanese entertainment industry might not be first think Fire Emblem and SMT fans are interested about .-. I mean, maybe there is some overlap, but still
