Poison's buff this gen + being my 3rd favorite type does make it pretty fun. My team right now is Nidoqueen, Ivysaur, Crobat, Swalot, and a rotation between Tentacool/Venipede/Stunky. Beedrill I've retired and I tried croagunk but that just gave me too many flying weaknesses plus he wasn't pulling his weight, sadly enough.

I dream of a poison/steel type although I realize it's not the best typing.

Poison/Steel sounds like it could be an option for Mega-Weezing. It's (sort of) based on a naval mine, after all.

I can never do mono-type runs, because I can't stop myself from always picking the min-max option, which defeats a lot of the purpose (fun). For instance, I don't think I'd be able to play a mono-poison team in-game without picking up either a Stunky or a Skorupi (Drapion) on the team for the anti-psychic synergy, even though I don't even like either of those two species. Stuff like that.

[up]You'd be surprised. I hated Slaking before, but ever since I started using her as a "necessary evil" wallbreaker, I started growing attached to her.

I've also heard a lot of tales on Smogon of becoming attached to a species when they're forced to use one, like with Nuzlocking.

I may, at some point, do a Fire-and-ice run. three of each.

I don't care much for the skewed gender ratios, it makes breeding too hard for ones like Eevee or Togepi, especially given the latter can't even breed until it evolves once. I'd sooner just make all non-monogender/genderless Pokemon have 50/50 ratios.

I don't want them all to have the same gender ratios but stuff like eeevee and the starters don't really make a lot of sense.

I'd love that. that's on my hypothetical 'If I had a billion dollars' wish list: bribe nintendo with 10K to do away with skewed gender ratios for Eevee and Starters and my other favorites.

seriously, I hate that I've bred SEVEN BOXES of eevee, and only gotten FOUR females. and even though both parents have Anticipation, not one of the four babies had it. they all had run-away. Sigh.

[up]It sounds to me like luck just wasn't on your side. Because 4/210 is a really bad turnout, even for a 1/8 gender ratio like Eevee has.

Took me awhile to get a female Froakie with Protean. Totally worth it though.

[up][up]...I was going to make a comment about Greninja♀ being sexy, but then I remembered that females are needed for ability breeding. How did I forget that? Derp :p

[up]...unbelievable. You got a SHINY before a HA female. :p

to be fair, my male breeder eevee is Japanese, and I have the shiny charm, so that helps, but yeah. Pretty much.

I don't really understand the "this Pokemon looks masculine/feminine, let's skew the ratios toward that" rationale. That really isn't how sexual biology works. tongue

For the starters, it's a balance mechanic — they may be competitively useless for the most part, but they are more powerful than most of the Com Mons, so the game doesn't want you getting an army of them early on before you can find a Ditto.

It is, nice, at least, when it plays to your advantage. Like if you need a male Chimchar to pass Vacuum Wave onto something.

I have finally found a use for Stunfisk; Getting timid on a Synchronize Ralts.

If Stunfisk can be useful, anything is possible.

Decided to replace Nicodemus with Rana (Greninja) and Dandelion with Chernobyl- Dragon Slayer (Amoongus)

Hows about another rematch? I know how bad choosing a wrong move can get.

Naw mate. The element of surprise is now gone (Rana's moveset)

And it was a damn good battle regardless. Some pretty intense corners there.

@Vertigo High: I know, but that doesn't really excuse an arbitrary thing that just makes breeding more of a hassle. If it were a case of sacrificing ease of gameplay in favor of realism, then yeah, it might be somewhat understandable, but as is it both makes gameplay harder and doesn't really serve any purpose.
