Work In Progress: A Divine Multifandom RP

One of the few constants in the many, many universes that fill the gaps in the Aether is the distinction between mortals and gods. There's a fairly wide gap between the two. One is, well, mortal. Prone to things such as disease, hunger, and death. Gods have no such weaknesses. No, they have their own problems. Managing worshippers, battling threats to their rule and what they stand for, reshaping the terrain the suit their needs.

The divine lead a very hectic life.

Especially hectic are the lives of several deities that we will observe here. A group of divine beings plucked from their own little corners of space and deposited on a dead world newly reborn, ripe for the shaping. Although starting from a tiny seed, under the guidance of it's new guardians, it will grow into a mighty and prosperous plane once more.

Either that or it will go the way of it's previous incarnation. Let's try to avoid that, shall we?

So, a new year, and a new crossover RP. Okay, technically a re-re-reboot of one that's vanished into the mists of time by now, but tomato tomato. Anyway, some ground rules:

• Standard RP rules. No godmoding, auto-hitting, etc.
• No OC's. Characters from established franchises only.
• Gods only. Merely godlike beings are not permitted. I'm willing to give some leeway in ambiguous cases, but cases where the character has been outright stated to not be a true god is an automatic no.
• Nothing too overpowered. Yes, I get the irony. Super Weight 4-5 is what I'm expecting, though I'm prepared to accept anyone that makes a good case.
• All IC fighting is to be plot-relevant and agreed upon OOC. These are gods; their Conflict Ball can crush mountains.

Some clarifications added later:

• Keep in mind that this is primarily a worldbuilding RP.
• I'll accept anything, within reason*
  as defined by me
  , that has a solid canon basis as a power, even if it doesn't strictly speaking appear within canon.

  • Able to create lesser deities (Nerfed; see below)
  • Can change his elemental affinity to any of the 17 elements from his home universe as long as he possesses the correct plate (He'll start with all 16).
  • A very expansive movepool including his signature move Judgment. I'll assume he isn't bound by the four move limit, and can use any attack in the pool (aside from Roar of Time, Spacial Rend and Shadow Force, since those are other Mons sig moves). All these moves are much more powerful than they would be from a normal mon.
  • Can retreat to his personal Pocket Dimension to recover from injury, no-one can follow him there.

As before, the following nerfs apply to Arceus: he cannot create new deities outright anymore, though he can produce lesser spirits that work according to the mechanics of pokemon. Also, as he no longer has any power over Space, Time, Antimatter or Spirit, as he has placed those aspects of himself into different vessels (The Creation Trio and the Lake Guardians).

Hurn. I don't know. The only godlike being in my favorite fandoms is Father after he has absorbed God. Would that be alright?

Well, there's also The Truth from that same series, but... That might be a little too abstract to play, I guess.

I shall have to debate on joining this, but I have some ideas.

You said it, Moe, too abstract. Nobody knows what the hell he really is. He's a thing, then he's not, then he's another thing, then he's that previous thing but with a hat and then he's a totally different thing playing a bagpipe.

@Strat: I'm borderline, leaning "no" there.

Well then, I don't know what to use. No god characters in other fandoms I like. Unless someone can save the day and suggest something I didn't think of.

Well...Yami's domain isn't really specified in the game, but he seems to have power over darkness, the moon, technology and evil, so he'd have powers centered around that as well...

Well, I've been sort of interested in Norse mythology and folklore recently, so I was thinking about playing as one of their gods. I'm not at all sure which one yet, though.

Anyway here's Blackwall

I think the best way to go about handling real-world mythology would be to just allow fictionalized representations of them, like, for example, stuff from The Mighty Thor or Wonder Woman comics.

Just a suggestion, though.

Well, you said you were borderline about Father, so maybe we can work that character out? What are your gripes with it?

Dunno about your opinion on them, but how about:

-Nyx from Persona 3
-Ameno-Sagiri from Persona 4
-Izanami-no-Okami from Persona 4?

@Anura Yes. Her abilities are actually quite powerful in-game.

@Kiri: It's an iffy business, really. Mythology is probably the best source of gods, but I don't want to potentially offend anyone, or set a precedent that could lead to such... I think I'll go with Moe's suggestion, really. I can't think of a better idea.

@Strat: Mostly the fact that I don't consider him enough of a "real" god. He's just drawing power from another entity, after all.

@Savato: Nyx is an abstract more than a god (at least in that section of SMT), and Ameno-Sagiri is just an aspect of Izanami. I'd pretty much accept Izanami, although she doesn't seem to have anything relevant to worldbuilding in canon.

Technically he absorbed "god" (becoming that something, not just drawing power from that something), but I get what you mean. But there are many god characters that didn't exactly start out as gods too, and had to either fight or do something to become god- wouldn't they also be "drawing power from another entity"? And really, if it weren't for those meddling kids (and that mangy semi-immortal Honenheim) he would have taken God's place.

• Origin: Final Fantasy Series
• Appearance: He always had a taste for the garish.◊
• Domain: Sorcery, Magic, Destruction, Chaos, Light.
• Abilities:
  • Masterful Spell-casting: Capable of preforming most any spell in the Final Fantasy roster, from high tier destruction spells like Meteor or Ultima (a large explosion of raw magic that penetrates defenses), to debilitating hexes that paralyze and blind, to restorative magics that return large swathes of health to their user. The most potent of these spells is the Light of Judgment, that can reduce entire cities and mountains into smoldering craters.
  • Magical Resistance: Carries a high resistance to magically induced hexes and curses. Anything physical, and he's on his own.
  • Telekinesis: Facilitates his flight, and his ability to keep a miles high fortress of rock, scrap, and monstrous flesh supported.
  • Monster Creation: Using his own magics, he can subjugate a defeated opponent into a willing slave, though this comes at the price of the slave's sanity/competence. He can only do this to monstrous or bestial enemies, using them in a manner similar to a classical Summon.

@Strat: It always seemed to me that he was imprisoning god within him and channelling his power, rather than truly fusing with him. He did need those souls to keep him under control after all.

@good: Looks mostly good, apart from the last ability. Is there a basis in canon for that? Also it can't be allowed to work on the other gods.
