Okay, time for a sign-up! I'm pretty amateur and I have a hard time developping ideas on paper, so tell me if there's something wrong and where I should fix it. Some advice would be welcome.

• Name: Rine Etzel Reinhardt
• Age: 15
• Gender: Male
• Appearance/Description: Not the best image I could find, but it sums enough. The only difference is his eyes are coal black and he isn't absurdly thin.
• Personality: The kind of guy who is extremely hasty and impulsive, most of the time getting himself on trouble because of his lack of second thought when considering an action. He isn't really stupid however, he just prefers thinking while acting than planning beforehand and taking care of all details, and is considerably good at improvising and finding solutions to problems on the get go. Hard working (when the subject interests him) and determinated, a bit unfriendy to strangers but very considerate and responsible towards others (especially friends), in contrast to his reckless towards himself. Tries his best to be dutiful to his family as a way to keep his contract with his Talru.
• Goals/Motive: The will to live, that's all. Rine wants to live on a world where the citizens (including him) aren't abused by nobles, to live on better conditions and simply enjoy life. He doesn't have complex goals or motives, but he's intolerant to nobles and tyrants overall, and seeks to become stronger and independent as a way to release himself from them.
• Bio/History: Rine lives on a rather simple city, far from the capital. He comes from a lesser noble family that apparently gained some renown on the past for the dedication and contributions to the empire by one of Rine's ancestors, but fell because of some differences with the empire many decades later, plus the lack of competence of the next lord to keep the family's position of power. Their lands were confiscated and given to another noble on good terms with the current emperor and the family was ultimately cast down. They struggle to survive nowadays, and since only his grandfather experienced the nobility years of his family (only slightly), Rine doesn't think about that too much. The only thing linking them to their past now is the family's Talru, an old familiar who claims to have experienced their golden age and lived enough to see their ascension and decline who taught Rine swordplay and currently takes care of him.
• Talru:
  • Name: Lucien, nicknamed "Lighty" by a 5 years old Rine
  • Creation: No one knows exactly how he came to be, not even him. There are rumors that he is a human who died as a child a long time ago and was ressurected with sorcery and an item related with a Omega Class Crisis Fiend somehow, but that's it.
  • Type: Biological
  • Required Compatibility: There are many ways to reach compatibility: To be dutiful to a non selfish cause; to make self sacrifices. Breaking just one of these requirements will allow Lucien to break free from his owner, though he may decide to stick a bit longer before officially breaking it and see if his owner adopts a better character.
  • Appearance: He is normally seen as a young man with short black hair, dark blue eyes, and average size and build, but he can shapeshift.
  • Main Ability: Shapeshifting. By that I mean changing the way he looks. He can't imitate a dragon, but he can imitate an old man, a mid aged man, a hippie, a kid etc, and change his body accordingly. The only thing he doesn't change are his blue eyes.
  • Hidden Ability: Contrary to popular belief, he isn't immortal. He's got a pretty long lifespan, however.
  • How did your character obtain their Talru?: This Talru has been passed down on the Reinhardt family for generations, as such, it is natural for Rine to be his next master, after his grandfather passed away (Rine's father didn't have compatibility with Lucien, even though his son has).
• Assets: His own clothes, a few money and a sword.

The Main Ability looks okay to me, just as long as the exhaustion also applies to her repair damage bit, and that the latter is limited to non-fatal wounds (like she wouldn't be able to heal from being decapitated, having her heart destroyed, etc).

And... hrm... Can you explain a bit to me the kind of materials that she can absorb? Does it work like Kevin's from Ben10? Does it only affect inorganic objects?

Rine seems good, though I would remove the "To be the descendant of the later owner" and "to have him make a contract with someone else with the consent of the owner (if he has one)" from his Talru's compatibility requirements. Compatibility requirements cant be genetic or based upon the Talru user's demands.

And that's a very good question! I was planning to start some time in the coming week. My finals are just around the corner, and I'll be on vacation time fairly soon.

At the least, it'll be starting either Tuesday or Wednesday. If worse comes to worse (and hopefully it doesn't)... then the RP will be starting at the very most... this Friday.

Somewhat. The Talru was intended to only eat inorganics, but due to Naraka being the Omega Class used to create Anastasis, its certainly possible for her to eat humans. She does not know this, and even should she find out, there's not much she can do with it. Not to mention that she would, as she is right now, be squicked by the very idea.

• Name: Unknown, but goes by Noman
• Age: Unknown. Probably mid thirties or late twenties. Has been six years since he got his Talru.
• Gender: Male
• Appearance/Description: Viola◊
• Personality: Overall, if you had to put him into a category, he would be more good than bad. He normally only kills people who are clearly assholes, and not children. In fact, he is really reluctant to do any sort of assassinations and doesn't enjoy it, but he likes having the government's money and support so he does it anyway. When doing dirty work he fancies himself a no-bullshit sort of guy, but at the same time, as a chef, he is't above trying to be funny and entertaining.
• Goals/Motive: He works as a spy/assassin for the government, while also trying to find that next great recipe as he runs his own hit restaurant, Malozar's.
• Bio/History: Early history is nonexistent. His first memory is finding himself amongst a pile of corpses, his hands grasping a blade that was implanted in the chest of a dead man. He had no recollection of who he was before then. Over the course of time, and several... incidents... he discovered the use of his Talru, and that he had quite the proficiency with weapons, but he didn't enjoy using them. He instead wandered around until he got work as a dishwasher, and found that he had a mean set of kitchen skills, and for some reason he knew how to play the piano. His powers, though, eventually got him on the government's radar, and they tracked him and offered him a job that would make his life a bit cushy, while making a lot of people they didn't like disappear.
• Talru:
  • Name: Soulstopper
  • Creation: Unknown. Or rather, the people making the Talru for Hiraki knew they made it, and they knew that it was a Talru, but they just couldn't remember actually making it. It was just there on the shelf one day.
  • Type: Utility
  • Required Compatibility: Tabula Rasa: The wielder must be willing to be stricken from existence; permanently give up they were before - their memories, their feelings, their emotions - as their name is removed from fate. That means no one remembers who they were, where they are from, or who what impact their former self made - not even the user. Because of that, the Talru's price includes the complete destruction of their personal memories*
    By that I mean stuff like who they are, what they like, etc. Language, motor control, skills, and the like are still fine. B ehard to RP someone who forgets how to breathe.

  • Appearance: A silver-colored watch burned into the flesh of his left wrist.
  • Main Ability: Temporality: No longer subjected to the same timestream as everyone else, this Talru allows the bearer to control time relative to their body. It lets the user vary time between +/- three times normal speed*
    When it's negative or positive, it's not really him moving back and forth in time, as much as it is his body either speeding up or reverting itself to where/how it was earlier - it's like watching a video tape in reverse. And it only absolutely affects him - other things nearby can only be indirectly affected. So if he walks through a door, someone closes the door, and he starts rewinding, he'll collide with the door and either not be able to go back any more, or if it's a weak enough door, splinter (it and probably cut himself up) but be able to keep rewinding. Basically, a small enough hindrance would just act as if he were smashing into it, which is why his clothes and stuff come along for the ride. Also, things like planetary spin and general physics stuff are ignored for defining where he "was".
    A side-effect of the user's mind living in a separate timestream from their body is that they do not require sleep. One such application is that he can slow himself down, which is great for landing those fancy Le Parkour moves. Because they are now intertwined, if he's separated from the Talru for more than a few minutes, he dies.
  • Hidden Ability: Forgotten One: The state of being forgotten to the universe. Any sort of Talru or other magical effect or ability involving fate and destiny, the use of True Names, precognition, scrying, foreseeing, or divination do not affect the user.
  • How did your character obtain their Talru?: Dunno. As mentioned, his first memories were
  • Assets: On the job, he wears lightweight metal armor where the vambraces have a blade hidden in them, and a helmet that masks his face and hair. Aside from that, he packs light, usually only carrying some smoke bombs, a pistol hidden in the right vambrace, a bag of birdseed, and a bag of coins. He also has a sizable restaurant, Malozar's where he lives (because he has a loft up there) and spends most of his time.

• Name: Hikage
• Age: 24
• Gender: Female
• Appearance/Description: Yeah, they're real.◊
• Personality: Hikage is loud, boisterous, and very determined. She is often quite crude and naive, but she can be very analytical in battle. She is quick to act, and enjoys many pleasantries like eating and drinking. A good fight is very favorite thing in the world, and she doesn't really care much about important things like politics and the state of the world.
• Goals/Motive: Continued survival, good times, and fighting. She usually does odd jobs, and she usually tries and fails to avoid the motivations of her Talru.
• Bio/History: Hikage was raised to be a student of Krav Maga, and spent her whole life in the small town where she was raised. She eventually ran away from home and found that she enjoyed the dangerous lifestyle much more, and decided to remain on her own.
• Talru:
  • Name: Hannya's Gauntlets
  • Creation: The armor were created from the body of the Omega-level Crisis Fiend Hannya, made to look like armor and be worn by a human. The armor was imbued with Hannya's soul, so it is referred to as Hannya's Armor.
  • Type: Armor Type
  • Required Compatibility: There are a few requirements. If the compatibility is not in effect, then the pieces of armor are very normal, and actually quite old and rusted. Basically useless. The first requirement, is being female. The second is to have a very strong sense of obsession or jealousy towards a specific thing, idea, or person. Hannya's Armor feeds off of this emotion to get it's power.
  • Appearance: Black gauntlets with sharp nails and carvings meant to be Hannya's face.
  • Main Ability: A fiery and spiritual aura surrounds the wearer, and Hannya's spiritual form is summoned to protect and fight for them. Each piece of armor controls a specfic part of Hannya's body. In this case, the gauntlets allow Hikage to control his gigantic arms. They are very strong, and made of a flaming ghost-like energy, but still physically a part of this world. The hands have about 10 times human strength. They are summoned by clapping the gauntlets hard against each other.
  • Hidden Ability: In times where the wearer is very emotional or easily subdued, Hannya's head will also be summoned to move with their body. His form gives the wearer increased knowledge of his many war strategies and battle tactics, as well as increased resistance to magical elements and spirits. While in Hannya Form, the wearer speaks with both his voice, and their own. They are also very resistant to mental submission.
  • How did your character obtain their Talru?: Hikage stole the gauntlets from a museum, and is now compelled to seek out the other pieces of the armor, as well as Hannya's Sword and Shield.
  • Assets: A small satchel of gold coins.

I'm still a bit uncomfortable with the idea of her being capable of absorbing anything organic... Hm... Alright, I think I've come up with an idea that is fair.

As long as her hidden ability doesn't affect Crisis Fiends, Talru and Talru users, then her hidden ability is fine.

NP Cs/non-Crisis Fiend animals are fair game, however; so she is free to go nuts with those guys.

Would that okay with you, Nick?

Also, can you PM me your idea for her One-Winged Angel form? I would just like to have an idea of what you have in mind.

I'm interested. But one question though: Can one have a Tarlu that can create life-forms out of crystal? I mean not big animals or an entire ecosystem, but rather just swarms of insects that will chew apart anything that the user wants gone.

I can only imagine when he falls off a cliff...

Well, the crystal insects thing is mainly used to get rid of evidence/a quick getaway tool since it takes incredible concentration to just keep them in such a form, and they are created from a living crystal that covers the user like a second skin of sorts. A second skin that will eventually invade the user's nervous system and kill him by causing crystals to grow in his brain.

• Name: Daine Elmsdotter, also called Daine of Setsuna
• Age: 23
• Gender: Male
• Appearance/Description: Daine is a very, very tall (7'2''!) man, and despite preferring wearing his four horned helmet and full armor, which makes him look very intimidating, he is an incredibly handsome man underneath, and incredibly muscular, at least 220 pounds of muscle. He conceals his appearance for the reason that he doesn't want to be thought of as a "Warrior of the Carpet". Daine's full armor is red and black, themed somewhat like a samurai's armor, completely covering his body. This armor is well made and very tough. Underneath it, he wears a cotton long sleeved shirt over a sleeveless shirt that extends up his neck and cups his chin, black pants and boots.
• Personality: Indeed, as described in the requirements, Daine is a very courageous, valorous individual who considers it his duty to defend the kingdom, considering it his homeland. He is a De Terminator, and he has a strong sense of justice, being unwilling to harm innocents who are uninvolved in his missions. He is, however, very, very rigid in his ways, and resistant to change. He maintains that "a woman's place is in the kitchen, pregnant and helping with children", and that men must teach boys to be manly men who fight, drink, have sex, and partake in manly habits. He believes in these things simply because they are tradition, not because he came to believe in them himself. He dislikes his father's wanton sadism, due to it usually being inflicted on prisoners and slaves, and thus tries to be out of the home palace as often as possible. He usually prefers to let his soldiers fight to develop their strengths, because "if a General does all the fighting, then what do his troops learn?"
• Goals/Motive: Crush the rebels and outlying tribes so his sister is not in danger. Secretly, he also wants to slowly try to redeem the Kingdom from the inside, ala Suzaku.
• Bio/History: Daine was always a bit taller than the other boys, and often led them around doing boyish adventures. He proudly notes he had his first drink at ten, with his trainer. He grew into a very strong and powerful man within the Kingdom, being a foremost general with a formidable record. He is incredibly harsh toward anyone even suspected of collaborating with the rebellion. While he leads his men like a Drill Sergeant Nasty, he deeply cares for each one, and a good way to set him off is to murder them. Daine is actually only proud of his Daine of Setsuna name, and being called Daine the Eternal Slayer, and Daine the Howling Wind actually irritates him, though comically so.
• Talru:
  • Name: No-Dachi of Douto
  • Creation: The No-Dachi of Douto was created from the fang of a wicked Crisis Fiend, and then bathed in the blood of a fallen priestess, and had powerful magic applied to it.
  • Type: Weapon
  • Required Compatibility: A determined heart, valor, and a "strong sense of justice"
  • Appearance: A long hilted weapon, the O-Dachi of Douto is a very huge blade, being curved at the front of the blade, and then straight at the back. Its not very thick, and while not made for quickness, is quite a bit quicker than you'd think. Still a pretty slow weapon.
  • Main Ability: The No Dachi of Douto has the ability to create energy along the blade, mostly shaped like dragons. When swung, these dragons rush at the enemy in a Sword Beam style attack that can shatter stone and most walls. However, as the distance increases, the damage his beams cause decrease. The individual beams are thin, and each attack takes a bit out of Daine.
• Hidden Ability: Chiryu-tou: Daine can, in a pinch, use his own blood to amplify his attacks by smearing it on the O-Dachi of Douto. The blood requirement is very large, and thus, using it is not usually in his plans. The ability has this name because after using Chiryu-Tou, every attack results in bright blue energy dragons that bite at any enemies who get too close and the result is something like a strong shock. This also results in his offensive power going up greatly.
• How did your character obtain their Talru?: He won it from an old blacksmith, who was trying to find a worthy master for the sword, as the sword can be...very picky.
• Assets: Daine is a powerful general, and is connected to the same family as Zachaia.
• Other: As a whole, he is a slow moving fighter, his heavy armor and weapon limiting his movement, making him a Mighty Glacier.

Right...I'm going to post the sign up again for convenience:

• Name: Yuka Akari
• Age: 14
• Gender: Female
• Apperance: [1]

• Goal/Motive: to see her parents again.

• Personality: Quiet, introverted and shy, Yuka isn't the one to say much to anyone; this means that any problems that she has are usually kept pent up inside which means anger, annoyance, despair and fear are all kept inside her like a water in a kettle. Despite all these things Yuka is not the one to rely on anyone for anything nor the one that needs looking after- she rather dislikes being babysitted but this was never really a problem due to her current predicament. If however someone befreinds her they will discover that she can be quite the chatter box and also an eternal optimist, unfortunately this has never happened.

• Bio/ History: Born into a prominent family of Western Marauders, Yuka enjoyed a rather pleasant early childhood though pleasant here is a relative term; this was all tipped upside down when their village was attacked by the Akaran military for a daring raid earlier that week. Thus Yuka along with those that did not get killed were carried off as plunder with herself getting sold into slavery; and there she has stayed since she was 6 years old. Right now she is Still a slave (Though that may change very very soon) and helps as an assistant due to her young age. The situation is being complicated by one of the boys in the household who has taken a liking to her and though this means she gets treated slightly better than most others it also entails constant harassment.

• Talru:

• Name: Hidden Heart
• Creation: Created by an Omega Class Crisis fiend being sealed into a piece of cloth, the Crisis fiend in particular was a transparent humanoid entity with an incredible psychic power an the ability of mind control, most of that power was lost during the sealing process and what remained was a rather strange ability that has no real offensive capability. (Don't ask me how it happened)
• Type: Manipulation
• Required compatibility:The person must have suffered a drop a high status: semi royal/ important to the country; the person must be an orphan with no parents alive and lastly the person must be a nice person who finds it hard to harbor any ill will.

• Appearnce: A brown piece of cloth tied into a bow.

• Main ability: Emotion manipulation (This is a very special case and I think I will need to have a few Pms with the Gm about this): The Talru allows Yuka almost total control over a person's emotions for a period of no more than 5 minutes. This means that Yuka can make the person angry, sad, terrified etc but if she does not know the person intimately then she cannot direct the emotion eg: having the postman be angry AT the mailbox, she can only make the postman angry but at nothing in particular. For the effect of the Talru to be felt, Yuka only needs to see the person's face- enough for her to see both eyes, even so, she only needs a passing glimpse to activate her Talru.

• Hidden ability: the hidden ability is that the Talru makes Yuka more aware of someone's mental disposition eg: She can figure out if someone's angry by observing their body language and hearing their voice. She can also tell how you feel about her so keeping secrets is rather hard.

Assets: As a current slave she has Nothing except what clothes her and the Talru, Yuka refuses to steal and will probably end up on the streets without a single penny.

Hopefully this is acceptable, though the ability is not an element I see no problem with it except perhaps the need for reclassing.

Hm... Honestly, it sounds very interesting, but I'm still a bit uncomfortable with the whole "miniature swarm" concept, since I can see that causing problems. The crystal bit also concerns me as well, since substances such as that are hard to break/shatter, and combined with the miniature swarm bit, it's essentially having an invulnerable bug swarm.

I'm sorry, but I can't accept that, Strigon.

Daine seems to check out fine, but his Talru is giving me many concerns.

I'm sorry Nick, but I honestly feel as if that the No-Dachi of Douto is far more powerful than the other Talrus that have been submitted and accepted, since from what I'm reading, it has four abilities that could all fit into four different Talrus of their own.

Again, I'm sorry, but I cannot accept him with a Talru of that caliber. If you wish, you can create a new Talru for him and post him again, I'd be more than happy to look it.

Sorry Biome, but I absolutely cannot accept a Talru that manipulates/controls someone's emotions of any kind. Mainly because it can be used to Mind Control other players' characters into doing what Yuka feels like, and that is essentially Godmodding. Which is a big no-no.

If you can come up with a different Talru, I'd be willing to look it over again.

Also, since I have tomorrow off, and I'm still working on a couple of things at the moment, the RP will be starting tomorrow! So be prepared!

I edited Daine's Talru. Is it better now?
