In Europe, but it came out in 2012 in the states.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!Honestly I'm kind of happy that it's difficult to come up with suitable replacements for the multiplatform nominees.
I always hate exclusives.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Yeah, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's gonna win Game of the Year. Just watch...
Just floating around...It's whatever appeals to the journalists the most, really. They have the final say in this, so it ain't exactly a proper voting poll here.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESBlack Ops 2 isn't in GOTY.
Anyways, I am glad to see that Halo 4 wasn't put in overall GOTY - not that I have anything against it, I nothing Xbox - but it has gotten way too much hype and fandumb where I'm from, and it means that the people doing this aren't just looking at what all has the most attention at this exact moment.
There needs to be more than one exclusive in the console specific GOT Ys; not that multi-plats can't be there, but console specific implies that I am choosing a game meant for that console.
There are two handheld consoles either give them both their own category, or give an equal number of games for each 3 Sony to 1 Nintendo is blatant bias/corruption on the part of the people choosing nominees, especially when there are multiple Nintendo games that can very easily be argued as more deserving of the slot than NSMB.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI can dream that Journey can win the Game of the Year right? That was a critical favorite. Journalists liked it right?
And as much as I like Castle of Glass as a song, IT HOLDS NO CANDLE TO I Was Born for This. And I believe you'll know who I want my original score vote to be...and Graphics. And best Independent Game. (Which I believe it will win)
PERSONA 4 ARENA! Even though I haven't played it.
Okay. Handheld. Yes It isn't fair that 3DS and Vita games are lumped together. Especially when the not-selling well Vita gets most of the games. -grins happily that no Mobile games are on the list- Well, the only one I have played is Little Big Planet Vita so...but I would be happy with any one of these winning. (And judging by the comments, Nintendo fans are upset with this list. A SPLIT IS WANTED SPIKE!)

Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and Dishonored show up in way too many categories.
Not Three Laws compliant.
Oh noes we spoiled something that happens in the first 10 minutes of the game! D:
And really...the Oscars of gaming? That is pathetic. This is a popularity contest, nothing more.

Like the actual Oscars was ever anything else. At least the voting pool is larger here.

It doesn't matter when it happens in the story, the motivation for a character's actions is one of the most defining aspects of that character. Without the deaths of his parents Bruce Wayne is just a rich asshole whom we only tolerate because he picks fights with criminals; with their deaths he becomes an avatar of retribution. But unlike Batman, Menendez isn't a decades-old, universally known character. The game hasn't even been out for a week. It takes no great effort to make spoiler tags; so please, for the sake of the people who don't want to be spoiled, use spoiler tags.
But yeah, this is more of a popularity contest than a quality contest.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyIt's not an accurate comparison because the Oscar's at their core were about and still are largely about providing exposure to really good films that would've otherwise not gotten it. Meanwhile award shows like this just give out prizes to all the latest hyped up, billion dollar franchises.
The other thing is that the Academy are actually made up of people who really give a damn about films, even if their tastes can be a tad elitist and narrow minded. Whereas most of these guys are just brogamers who, again, only pay attention to the latest hype and have no real credibility beyond that.
Not even that much, really, given how most gaming "journalists" are in bed with game producers (see the Eurogamer flap last month, for example).
All your safe space are belong to Trump^ Blame UK laws for the libel thing for that...
Give me cute or give me...something?That... sort of sums up the stereotypical Co D crowd, doesn't it? That would put them more in line with their target audience than the Oscar judges are with the average movie-goer.
But the oscars are actually a very prestigious award that people even make Oscar Bait movies for.
When are you ever going to see "VGA Bait" ?
Oscars are a long tradition where people came together to discuss that which was made well in movies, not compare ticket sales.
I consider 'award' shows to be nothing more than glorified circle-jerks.
Why should I care what some overpaid twit considers award-worthy? I'm not a sheep like a vast majoriy of consumors appear to be becoming - people who believe something is only worth having because it won some awards.
BUY A CAR FROM ME!Airman: It appears in literally the first cutscene. The one that comes before the main menu.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Does something that happens at the very first part of the game really qualify as spoiler? I mean it's not like that it turns out that Darth Vader is Luke's father or something.
It's like spoiling that Tantive IV is overrun. It's like spoiling Citizen Kane dying.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Veni: The difference is an award show on the Oscars brings prestige and fame to who win it, as they are chosen by a group of people who, while may not be perfect, know quality.
The VGA is a popularity contest designed to improve sales of Doritos and Mountain Dew and the games in them, and nothing else.
Again, I'm very surprised The Walking Dead and Journey made it in more that a token capacity (more than one category, and a GOTY nomination)
They won't win anything, but it's a step in the right direction
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Well, if we don't sell all the HALO 4 (TM) branded DORITOS (TM) and MOUNTAIN DEW (TM), then Geoff Keighley is gonna be stuck with them, and you know how depressed he gets when he's around them.
EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESSimce I'm Irish I can't watch this anyway, but it might be worth tuning in just for the host: Samuel L Motherfucking Jackson. The "Motherfucking" is mandatory.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
Yeah, I'm just going to try and not give a crap about this. Not only are the opinions of this particular show not exactly something I'd trust, but there's also not a single game I have any kind of investment in.
Except maybe Xenoblade. But wasn't that one released in 2011?
