There is a place in the vastness of the multiverse that offers adventure in spades. Adventurers who travel in the void between the universes seek it out, be it for fame, fortune, or something else entirely. It is spoken of in hushed tones, and rumours abound about its’ true nature. However, you are not those multiversal adventurers. Rather, you have woken up in this strange dimension with no recollection of how you got there – or, indeed, why you’re there.

The only thing that’s certain is that you’re not alone; you share this city with many others, some of whom have given up on returning home, while others try to protect the innocent, and still others take advantage of the confusion. Aside from them, there are many other heroes –or, perhaps, villains – who have ended up in the exact same situation as you. Will you manage to get to the bottom of the mystery, or will you flounder like so many before you? Making things even worse is the fact that the patchwork city is often wracked by mysterious phenomena known as “Trials”, which can cause any number of effects ranging from turning everyone into toys to the city turning into a jungle. How will you cope?

Hello, and welcome to my RP. It’s designed to provide a nice blend of action and character interaction. Much like the series it was inspired by, players can suggest subplots and Trials. The game will run for 21 in-game days, which last longer than IRL days. At the end of each day a “boss” appears to challenge our heroes; successfully defeating them is necessary to further progress. Before you embark on your journey, it would be wise to become acquainted with the following rules. If you have any further questions, just ask!

• Characters should be no stronger than Super Weight 3. Where’s the fun if your character can just beat up everything and anything that comes their way? And fighting isn’t the be all and end all of the RP, either.
• Speaking of fighting, although characters may hold whatever opinions they wish about the others, they should not fight each other unless they have an extremely good IC reason to or it is part of a subplot.
• As an additional point, you are allotted one character only unless your character would find it impossible to operate on their own.
  • Depending on how well people RP, however, second characters may be allowed later.
• No OCs are allowed – this is meant to be an RP dealing with characters from across various fandoms, after all! You may select characters from any media, though more unusual media and borderline cases may be handled on an individual basis.
• Strictly no immortality allowed. Although there is a possibility that characters may be revived on death (with no guarantees and quite possibly with strings attached), having characters immune to death has a tendency to cheapen any drama that may result from mortal peril.
• No ghosting, auto-hitting, godmoding, or any of that nonsense.
• Remain polite and courteous to your fellow players at all times.
• If you wish to introduce an NPC, run them by me first.
  • This goes double for subplots and that sort of thing.
• Your character should have an actual, established personality. In the case of customisable characters, it’s recommended that their “default” appearance be used.
• Both writing and speech will be translated automatically to prevent any confusion between characters. The characters still sound the way they usually would - it's just that the characters automatically have the speech translated in their heads.
• No meta-gaming allowed. For reference, meta-gaming is having a character act with OOC knowledge (such as a character attacking a disguised villain without this having been made clear IC).
• To help prevent cases where people hop around between characters without getting any actual time to RP them (which can make things difficult for fellow RPers), a player must play a character for a minimum of three Days before being allowed to make the switch. This also helps to ensure that someone genuinely wishes to make the change.
• By signing up for this RP you recognise that your character may be subject to situations that change their physical properties and abilities/equipment. I have included this because there's been a little confusion in the past regarding it.
• And most of all, have fun!

Keep in mind that a lot of the fun generated by this sort of RP is player content; I will generally avoid hand-holding the players during non-plot events unless it becomes absolutely clear. Go ahead and make your own fun (within reason, naturally)!

So that it’s made clear from the start, yes, this RP is inspired by (and borrows elements from) the MMFRPG, but this was done with one of the G Ms’ blessings.

• Name: What your character is called.
• Age: How old your character is; if none is given, give an educated guess.
• Species: What are they?
• Gender: Is your character male or female? Neither?
• Appearance: What do they look like? An image is acceptable, as is a description.
• ‘Verse: Which universe did your unfortunate character get plucked out of?
• Personality: How does your character behave? Do they have any pet peeves? Is there anything – or anyone - that they love? Do they have any principles? All this and more goes in this field.
• Powers/Equipment: What is your character capable of? Are there any weaknesses or drawbacks to their abilities? Keep in mind that they should be Super Weight 3 at most. If you’re not sure whether their powers would break the game or not, nerf them.
• Background: What has led them up to this point? How has their life been so far? Are they a hero or villain? Or, perhaps, they are neither.
• Extra Notes: Anything further you would like to tell us that hasn’t been covered in the previous categories?

Here’s the character I shall play for this RP:

• Name: Megaman (Rock)
• Age: 10 (apparent age)
• Species: Robot Master
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Super fighting robot, Megaman!◊ (Outside of his armour◊)
• ‘Verse: Megaman – the Classic series, to be precise.
• Personality: Blessed with a strong sense of justice, Megaman cannot bear to let evil deeds go unpunished. Kind, generous, and polite (not to mention a pacifist), Megaman is a model citizen in all senses of the word. Like any real human child, he can display a wide range of emotions.
• Powers/Equipment: Being a robot, Megaman has superhuman speed, strength, toughness, reflexes, and more. His primary weapon is the Mega Buster, which fires plasma projectiles. It has a moderate fire rate, although sufficiently tough armour will cause his projectiles to bounce clean off. He can charge his projectiles. His most important ability is Weapon Copy, which allows him to copy any weapon as long as he defeats the original wielder. However, this uses up Weapon Energy, ensuring that he can only get limited mileage out of each subweapon. Finally, he has a sliding kick that can do some damage when it connects.

• Background: Built by Dr. Light, a kindly old scientist, as a lab assistant along with his sister Roll, Rock held no special capabilities aside from the ability to use any tool after seeing it in action once. However, this peaceful existence was cut short by Dr. Wily, who reprogrammed the other Robot Masters to help him take over the world. Volunteering to stop the madman, Rock underwent a transformation into Megaman. In this incarnation he would trump Wily time and time again, no matter what schemes he hatched. During his adventures he ran across Protoman, his brother, and Bass, his constant rival who wished to prove himself superior to the Blue Bomber. He also gained companionship in the form of Rush, a robot dog, and Beat, a robotic bird. Our hero is busy resting after foiling Dr. Wily’s latest plot when he’s taken into the city.

• Extra Notes: Megaman complies with the Three Laws of Robotics, though he can use the zeroth law if necessary to protect innocents.

Flanker, bud, you can count me in. I'll be thinking of a character who isn't Toph.

By the way, in the case of no immortality allowed, what about immortal characters over Super Weight 3 getting nerfed down to a more... mortal state? I think the best example would be what was done to Envy in Infinities.

• Name: Gilgamesh
• Age: Unknown
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: THE MIGHTIEST WARRIOR!◊
• ‘Verse: Final Fantasy (V, originally)
• Personality: Despite having the prowess to defeat an entire army, Gilgamesh has a tendency not to display it. A loud, boisterous braggart outside and inside of battle, and tends to display cowardly traits when on the losing side. He's not all bad, though! Gilgamesh knows when to respect a fellow warrior, and isn't exactly aggressive when people aren't searching for Excalibur. He even plays card games sometimes.
• Powers/Equipment:
  • Has the ability to 'morph', giving him another six arms with which to hold his weapons.
  • Is the proud wielder of many weapons, and is quite proficient with each of them.
  • Can increase his speed, as well as resistance to physical and magic slightly (Haste, Protect and Shell)
  • Can also throw rocket punches and missiles.
  • Can also jump pretty high.
• Background: A skilled warrior who once served the evil warlord Exdeath, Gilgamesh was thrown into the rift after failing one too many times to defeat the Light Warriors. Ever since then, he's been wandering between worlds, trying to find a way back home to fight his eternal and worthy rivals. In the meantime, he's on the lookout for the most powerful of swords, Excalibur.
• Extra Notes: His 'legendary weapons' have a habit of being fakes. Especially when it comes to Excalibur.

Oh hell yes I am all over this.

Okay, this is pretty crap but whatever.

• Name: Finn (The Human)
• Age: Fourteen years old and counting
• Species: Human, obvs.
• Gender: He's a dude, bro.
• Appearance: What time is it?!◊
• ‘Verse: Adventure Time, before the events of The Lich.
• Personality: Finn is your stereotypical hero; loud, brash, and dumb as a bag of hammers. He lives in the moment, more likely to rush headfirst into danger than figure a way around it, an equal mixture of ignorance and thrill-seeking instinct impelling him onwards. He has a strong sense of justice, as befits a hero of his stature, and he'll act to right any wrong he sees. However, he tends to see the world in terms of black and white, absolute good and absolute evil, so morally grey situations will often lead to a lot of inner conflict. His crippling fear of the ocean aside, Finn as as brave as they come, ever willing to stand and fight even when the odds are stacked against him and outright refusing to give up until the job is done. Although, honestly, he's still just a kid. He likes to goof around, have fun, all that good stuff. Not everything's gotta be all serious all the time, and Finn takes a sort of Laissez-Faire attitude towards nearly everything he does. He's as loyal as a dog, too, and when he makes friends they tend to stay friends.
• Powers/Equipment: Though nominally a regular human boy, Finn is far stronger, tougher, and more agile than anyone his age has any right being. Even without armor, it takes a lot to put him down for good, and he's strong enough to wrestle creatures several times his size to the ground. Equipment-wise, he hasn't got much on him, just his sword and his pack. The sword is made of crystallized demon's blood, though that doesn't really make it much different from a regular sword aside from its unusually sharp edge. His pack contains a variety of useful tools, from binoculars to rope to trail mix to a whole bunch of other junk that he doesn't really need. He's a heck of a musician, too.
• Background: Finn is, or at least he believes he is, the last human on Earth. As such, he's not entirely sure where he came from, or who his real parents are. Not that he thinks about it too often anyway. His earliest memory is of him as a baby, alone in the woods, crying. Though many passed him by or stopped and stared, no one came to help him. Fortunately for Finn, a passing dog couple decided to take pity on the strange, hairless creature. They took him home, cleaned him up, and raised him as one of their own. Even from a young age, it seemed that Finn was destined to be a hero, with a strong desire to help those in need stemming from his own helpless situation. In time, he grew into a hale and hearty young lad, eager to defend those weaker than himself and bring peace to the land of Ooo. Now, with his adopted brother Jake at his side, he protects the land from such threats as the mostly-harmless Ice King and the omnicidal Lich. It's a pretty tough job, but it's hells'a fun.

Old memories. It's a maybe since I'm doing a game.

Hey Flanker, Imma go and PM you something later.

• Name: Selim Bradley. Also known as Pride.
• Age: Eleven. His real age is unknown, but some guess he's over seven hundred years old.
• Species: Human, of course. An artificial human- also known as a homunculus.
• Gender: Male.
• Appearance: Perfectly normal.
• ‘Verse: Fullmetal Alchemist, the Manga/Brotherhood version.
• Personality: Selim is a curious child. He's playful, kind, and loves to learn more every day. His idol is his father, King Bradley, and he tells anyone that wants to listen how much he wants to be like him. Even if Selim can sometimes be too naive, he always wants to do the right thing for his friends. Except he's nothing like that. Pride is a unscrupulous manipulative being, being able to control people even if he looks live an eleven year old boy. He's cold, precise, and he couldn't care less about the well-being of his "siblings" if it meant his (and his Father's plan) would succeed. He sees humans as lesser beings that only serve to be controlled, but most of all, Pride's smart, conniving, crafty, prideful, deceitful and, of course, unsuspicious.
• Powers/Equipment:
  • Shadow Manipulation: Pride has an unique ability: he can control the shadows without even moving one muscle. He can use them in a myriad of ways. For example: as weapons, by transforming into blades that can be used to attack or defend, as ways of extending his senses, by listening in to conversations happening miles away by controlling the shadows near them, and even as a way to absorb other powers, by eating people with these powers. However, due to being plucked from his home universe, he can't absorb people with his shadows. His main weakness is that in place's devoid or completely covered in light, he is powerless- examples: a flashbang or a giant earth dome with no natural or artificial light coming in. His shadows are also a bit weaker thanks to the energy draining from being transported, so he can't listen in to people miles away and can't cut through anything with them.
  • Regeneration: Like all other homunculi, he can regenerate spontaneously even when inflicted by wounds that can be considered fatal by human standards. However, after being plucked, part of his energy has been drained, making it while he can still control shadows, his regenerative abilities have been reduced. He can easily regenerate from small wounds and injuries, but when it comes to fatal wounds, like losing a limb or being shot in the head, he will take several days to recover- if he can survive these wounds.
• Background: To say not much is known about Pride before he became "Selim" is an understatement. Nothing is known about Pride before he began to use his current body and the name Selim. What is known is that he has been living for quite a long time, and some even believe that he has been behind the scenes, controlling various commanders of Amestris before taking the mantle of King Bradley's, the current Fuhrer, son. Before he was plucked from his home, he had been working towards his Father's goal of using the Promised Day to literally absorb God, making sure that certain key people like Colonel Mustang and the Elric brothers didn't die or do something stupid, like ruining their plans.
• Extra Notes: Pride's abilities were never that almighty in the show (if you know how to cancel them, you have a great advantage against him), so I felt only the absorption part needed to be nerfed. Also: it seems he has the ability to exchange bodies, since at one point he attempts to take over Edward Elric's body. Let's just say he doesn't have the ability for now (although depending on what the GM thinks, he may obtain it later).

Hey, Firock! How's it hangin'? Haven't seen you around. Also Flanker, it would be best to diversify the thing so that it won't be seen as an MMFRPG clone.

Here's mine:

• Name: G. Callen
• Age: Seems to be 42, basing on COD's actual age.
• Species: Human, obviously.
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: Right here mate
• ‘Verse: NCIS Los Angeles, Season 4, after "Dead Body Politic"
• Personality: The only thing that bothers Callen is that no one told him what G means in "G. Callen". Not the system and not even those who raised him as an orphan. He has been trying to figure it out. He considers Sam Hanna to be his best partner. Also, he will back down against anything that is against his conscience such as the agreement to swap the notorious sociopath and spy "Chameleon" to save the life of an intelligence analyst when he should have been arrested/killed for killing fellow NCIS agents.
• Powers/Equipment:
  • Has a NCIS ID and badge, although he'll have some fake IDs to ensure his name is protected since he operates as an undercover agent.
  • Armed with a Sig Sauer P229 since he is a NCIS agent.
  • Has black leather gloves when he uses it to investigates crime scenes and other areas of interest.
  • Is fluent in English, German, Italian, Arabic, French, Polish, Russian and Spanish. He's also said to be fluent in Czech and Romanian.
  • Knows unarmed combat and small arms handling. Also experienced in mountain climbing thanks to rock wall climbing.
• Background:
  • Born in Europe, he grew up in America as the son of a half-Roma woman with his father currently unknown. Only surviving member of the Callen family since his mother and older sister died a few years ago. His deceased grandfather served in the OSS in the European theater during WWII, where the troubles between him and the Comescus boiled over until the problem was "taken care" of.

My main issue is with his ability to control shadows miles away from himself to eavesdrop, as it makes it difficult for characters to do anything in secret. Also, just how powerful are his shadow based weapons?
