Snyder also wasn't CEO at the time, was he?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThe way I see it, if Steven Universe can last, so can a PPG reboot. Again, I do think there's a double standard with regard to CN's openness to a female audience for their comedies and their wariness of it for their action shows.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Didn't Lauren Faust leave after the first season? An example of a creative force that drew a wide audience leaving and yet the show keeps consistent in quality.
All that proves is that the other writers on MLP:FIM have a sufficient grasp on what makes the show good to keep making quality stuff. Doesn't mean every show is so lucky.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Do you mean MLP or PPG? If you mean PPG, keep in mind, she wasn't the creator of the show or even the main driving force behind it—that was Craig Mc Cracken.
Snyder also wasn't CEO at the time, was he?
I still believe Steven Universe is a feminist show in disguise- all the badass characters are female. Steven is something of a Decoy Protagonist. Maybe Ms. Sugar knew it would be the only way they'd let her do the series.

Nitpick: Can't a show still be feminist even while having a male protagonist?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. It's weird to me that everyone seems so insistent that Rebecca Sugar couldn't possibly have wanted to make a show with a male lead and had to be pushed into it. I mean, this is a thread about a show about three female asskickers created by a dude. Surely no one's suggesting McCracken actually wanted to make a show about Professor Utonium.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. To respond to that, look at what happened to Batman, another very popular franchise.

Beware of occasional bad attitude. I do Fanfics on deviantART. Witness me make a mockery out of myself there, too.I meant MLP.
I do feel that showrunners do have control of what the content of the show will be like. Sponge Bob changed as Hillenburg and Drymon resigned as showrunners, Family Guy has gone through different changes with showrunners as has The Simpsons(Family Guy for example, took a less wacky turn when Callaghan and Hentemann took over, as opposed to the more light Goodman and Sheridan era, and the lighthearted Zuckerman era and Palladino era).
Just had a brain blast:
IF this were to become a series, why not make it a even mix of topical pop culture episodes and comedy along with it's classic late 90's violence and personalities, quite different from what TTG usually does, which is mainly douchbag humor among classic superheroes.

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThat'll age badly. Quite badly, trust me.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Yeah, let's not turn PPG into Family Guy 2.0. It's bad enough we have Family Guy 1.0 already.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Lucky there are Powerpuff Girls! Lucky there are girls who positively can do all the things that make us laugh and cry. They. Are. Powerpuff Giiiiiiiirls!!!

Oh, definitely. Look at Dr. Who, for example- it has had plenty of good female characters (some even more badass than some of the Doctors! ) But still, the question here is whether Cartoon Network is willing to allow them today. As much as I like Steven, he still feels like the sidekick in his own series (which I assume is intentional, as the show seems to run on the Hero of Another Story trope.) Heck, nearly every male character in the show is either silly or a jerk. While the only female jerk/idiot is Amethyst, and she still kicks ass. I don't mind this very much, just pointing it out.
I dunno, Pearl's been shown to be more stuck-up than we once thought, at the least.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatActually, people have been pissed about Who's treatment of women recently. Well, I mostly avoid the fandom, so when I say "people," I mean "my aggressively bisexual feminist friend." But it is a little eyebrow-raising that it subscribes to All Women Are Lustful. Mostly played for laughs, of course, but still.

Well, I know Mr. AHR has a lot to say about that. Maybe ask her and she'll let you know there.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.-appears in bolt of lightning-
Are we complaining about Doctor Who in here? I can do that.
I don't see what Doctor Who has to do with three small supergirls.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOh, okay.
-slinks away holding mug of tea-
I was trying to remember but couldn't so just put any familiar name there. thanks, though. Either way.
