Firstly, hi! Welcome newcomer!
Secondly, we already have a Justice League film thread, so chances are you are going to be asked to move this discussion there right before a mod closes this one.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not new to the site but this is the first time I have posted on the forums. I did a search for Justice League threads before posting this and noticed that thread. I felt it was okay to post this topic because it was more specialized than the general discussion that seems to be going on at the main thread. That said thanks for the warning and if the mods disagree with me I will copy and past my OP to wordpad just in case this conversation gets nuked.

You guys forgot to add why you would cast them.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsNot sure who to cast, but to request an actor who shouldn't be cast, I'd say Ryan Reynolds. Nothing against him as an actor (he was the best part of X Men Origins Wolverine), but I think his mark as the Green Lantern is too recent. Having him play another DC superhero would probably be seen as confusing to audience members by whatever executive's running the show.
Okay, here's why:
Brandon Routh: Because I thoroughly enjoyed Superman Returns and his portrayal of Superman has become my default head-canon. When I imagine Superman, I imagine Brandon Routh's version.
Jim Caviezel as Bruce Wayne/Batman: Because of his ability to play characters who remain calm and collected under pressure but are clearly full of barely suppressed angst/rage/desperation and who manage to be both soft-spoken and terrifying. Doesn't that sound like Batman to you? :D
Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan: Because I think his acting style and personality would be great for the character, and because of the voice work he did for Emerald Knights.
Joseph-Gordon Levitt as Flash: I think he could pull the personality off quite well.
Peter Cullen as the voice of Darkseid: Do I really have to explain that? :p He has an awesome deep voice that could give Darkseid the same gravitas it gave Optimus Prime.
Fear is a superpower.Superman: Jon Hamm
Batman: Michael Fassbender
Wonder Woman: Evangeline Lilly
Green Lantern: Alex O'Loughlin
The Flash: Niel Patrick Harris
Aquaman: Alexander Skarsgård
Martian Manhunter: Idris Elba
Now, I want you to take a long, hard look at this cast and I want you to look into your soul, your heart of hearts and tell me that this doesn't feel right.

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere. If he wasn't busy with Heimdall (and I assume joining the 'other side' wouldn't be good for him considering how X3 handled Cyclops for starring in Superman Returns) then I'd have wanted Idris Elba as John Stewart.
But that was Fox if I'm not mistaken and not Marvel. Marvel itself tends to have a much less antagonistic relationship with their competitors than Fox does.
Skarsgard seems like an odd choice to me. He just doesn't have the... gusto that I expect from Aquaman ever since BATB aired. He could be a kickass Oceanmaster I bet though.

"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsI like to take risks.
Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.Well really, I feel it should not be made(the film). On the other hand, I do tire of people prolonging old threads for the sake of prolonging them, the forum has pages specifically so those old topics will not be seen after a while.
Superman:Dwayne Johnson: his comedic roles work for Clark Kent, his action movie roles work for Superman. Alternatively, John Cena.
Wonder Woman:Eve Torres:The little known Stan Lee version of wonder woman was Mezo American and Eve is of latin descent apparently. Also, she spent the majority of her career dressing similar to Wonder Woman. Alternatively, Beth Phoenix with hair dye can be the traditional wonder woman.
Batman:Satino Marella:After a trilogy of "gritty" Batman movies that refuse to be self deprecating it is time for goofy sixties Batman. Satino is a funny guy and a fan of Batman.
Green Lantern:Dolph Ziggler: The most noticeable thing about Alan Scott is his blonde hair right? Alternatively, Ezekiel Jackson or Titus O'Neil could be the John Stewart incarnation.
The Flash: Rey Mysterio Jr:He has already been the Flash. Alternatively the red head Heath Slater could stand in for Wally West.
Aquaman:Daniel Bryan: His goat face could resemble Father Neptune with a little trimming. Alternatively, Daniel Puder, as finally hiring him would be in some form would be an acceptable apology for his horrific treatment and the seven years of Mizery that have been forced on us.
Martian Manhunter: The Brian Kendrick: as he and Paul London were described as being from Mars(or something) by JBL. Alternatively, since he is supposed to be a counterpart to Superman Booker T or Batista could contrast Rock or Cena.
Black Canary: Jillian Hall: Athletic, Blonde and of course her voice. Is there a more annoying sound? Alternatively:Body builder Melissa Coats or Passion, who have worked in OVW when it was partnered with Vince.
Hawkgirl:La Rosa Negra: With Lillian Garcia hospitalized, Nidia in Italy and the idea of movie publicity putting Rosa back in the ring too terrible of one to think of it seems raiding the WWC is the best option. Alternatively, Lita, who had a Mexican grandparent and is a redhead.
Villains
Lord Havoc: UnDashing Cody Rhodes.
Gorgon:Lord Tensai, aka Akeem the Japanese dream, aka A-train shaved his back.
Dreamslayer: Dustin Rhodes, the artist formerly known as Goldust. Dreamslayer is a he-she and Goldust was a Gorgeous George who shattered dreams.
Tracer: The punk eating carnivore Ryback. Feed him more!
Dr. Diehard: The flying asshole Colt Cabana!
Carny: Teddy Hart
Barracuda: The Boogeyman(and he's comin to getcha!)
What, you think this proposal is preposterous? Ha!

Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackCider I think that cast might be the point that the internet goes beyond threats and literally murders all of Hollywood. The finished product would be hilarious to watch though.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsIt was Fox, but Marvel has a much bigger hand in the movie production now, so it's not too out of the question to think they might not be too happy with their actors trying to jump ship for a film that's pretty much being groomed as an Avengers rival.
This thread is getting NECRO'ED because its becomeing more and more relevant.
Affleck is batman but who's left?
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsI want Michael Rosenbaum as Flash.

Fear is a superpower.Wonder Woman: Lucy Lawless. Because she's Lucy. And she's Lawless. And she's Lucy. Having already typed that, I've just discovered that she's actually voiced Wondy before. Which is awesome.
Aquaman: Dolph Lundgren. Just because.
Green Lantern: Make it John Stewart so as to cast Samuel L Jackson.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Hmm, casting thoughts:
- Martian Manhunter- Elba's not a bad idea. I'd pursue the angle of him basing his human persona off of tv and movies, so I'd either have him played by an actor in Police Procedurals or else someone who looks like Humphrey Bogart
- Wonder Woman- either Jaime Alexander or Hayley Atwell
- Green Lantern- was going to say Laurence Fishburn, but he's Perry White; how about Chiwetel Ejiofor?
- Flash- Nathan Fillion
- Aquaman- Ray Stevenson or Keven Mc Kidd

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wiki
Ok the Justice League movie has been announced and is pretty well set at this point so my question is who would you have on the League Roster and who would play them and why? Mine is as follows.
1)Superman: Henry Cavill. He's already cast in Man of Steel and unless that fails spectacularly chances are he's going to be Supes in the JL movie so I'll just toss him here.
2)Batman(Bruce Wayne version): Joseph Gordon Levitt. It would be a nice casting gag and his appearance fits pretty well with Bruce Wayne's. I also feel he deserves a chance to shut down everyone who whined about how "They said they weren't going to bring robin into it man!" For the record they are rebooting Batman so he would be in no way tied to the Dark Knight trilogy.
3)Wonder Woman: I'll admit I am pretty lost on this one. I really don't know who to cast but I definitely feel that she should be included on the team.
4)Green Lanterns(Hal Jordan and John Stewart): Nathan Fillion and Keith David. Nathan because this is the internet and I have to and Keith David because I love that mans voice. Also having a few characters on the team who are slightly older would be an interesting dynamic and if Justice league is successful I want to see these two in a buddy cop movie IN SPACE!
5)Flash: Ryan Reynolds. I like Reynolds and feel he deserves a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of DC fans. I also feel that Flash would be a better character fit for him.
6)Aquaman: Chris Hemsworth. He has proven that he can do Hammy Prince/Kings and cutting off the "This looks like a job for Aquaman" jokes is easier if you have cast an actor who is physically imposing. Also I want to see a live action version of Aquamans rousing song of heroism playing in the background of the end credits for an Aquaman movie and I feel that Hemsworth plus my idea for Black Canary (listed below) would be the funniest.
7)Martian Manhunter: Idris Elba. Mostly because I liked him in Thor and I feel that Manhunter should have a deep voice similar to Heimdalls though a little smoother sounding.
8)Black Canary: Scarlett Johansson. This is mostly because of Physical resemblance and the fact that a black costume clad martial artist with the word black in her name would be an amusing actor allusion. I can assure you it has nothing to do with my desire to see Ms. Johansson in fishnets. *Whistles innocently*
9)Hawkgirl: Michelle Rodriquez. Badass with a hispanic accent? Reminds you of a certain beloved animated series doesn't it?
Main Villain: Darkseid. Played by Micheal Ironside. Because anyone else in the role is a charlatan in my opinion. What Can I say I grew up with the DCAU and it shows.
What are your thoughts on the matter?
Also sorry about the numerous edits the OP is going to get but I'm rather new to TV Tropes Forums and I'm figuring things out still.
