Well, I'm up for Mallard's idea if ever comes back here and says anything about it I'm done with all my midterms, so for now I'm pretty free.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I could probably do the drums.
I may have spoke too soon: I was eager to make something, and since I suggested it I've completely burnt out. Things have been nuts and I'm just not in that insane classic rock mood.
I'd still be up for editing whatever you guys want to make, I'm just not in the right frame of mind to create anything.

I'm still in.
Well, thanks to a lovely lass named Sandy, I can't charge my dead laptop, so I can't record for now, probably not for a few days...
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Resurrecting this one up from the grave, because it was in my thread watchlist.
Are any of the people originally interested in participating in this still up to the challenge ? Just saying, 0dd 1 had a pretty great idea in my opinion and it would be sad if we didn't at least give it a shot.
So asking : anyone still in ?
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.Between school and other projects, I dunno if I have the time anymore.
I'd have to get my keyboard back from my sister and get a new power cord for it. Then fix up both of my guitars. Then dig my bass out of storage. But hey, I have my mandolin and I can sing!
I've been slacking when it comes to making music note , and I'd love to get involved if this gets started up for real. Again, I don't technically play anything and primarily work with Sony ACID (so looping, weird musique concrete kind of stuff). I could also do some vocal stuff, be it singing, yelling, rapping, making strange, terrifying noises with my mouth, or just spoken word.

I could play anything you need playing - excepting wind instruments.
If you want to do a song with an ethereal feeling to it... I can bring out my old Swedish-made musical saw.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Before anything, we need to actually focus on a central idea here. What kind of project would we want to work on first? Only then can we really decide what is needed.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I've always wanted to make a post-disco track.
Ooh, I wouldn't mind that. Something with some nice, sparse instruments for the most part. A good, catchy drumbeat, some funky bass, a rhythm guitar part (which I could provide) that doesn't linger too long on each strum, and maybe some intermittent brass if anyone here plays.
I'd also be willing to take lyrics and lead vocals. And Mike, your terrifying noises might work here.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I might be able to provide a nice synth bass, presuming I can find a good VST.
Maybe we can use a synth bass as a temp track to figure out the melody on, since I think a couple people here mentioned that they play the bass. (I do too, but I'm not very good at it.)
I know you can definitely do the drums and potentially the production work.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I have a few 80s-sounding synth VSTs for chords and leads.
I can muck around in a scorewriter program.
I'm a Keyboardist with a Decent Mic. I could help if you want.
I wanna join tho
Okay, so since this thread is back and I recently discovered Hammerhead works on my computer, I made a quick little beat that anyone reading this can download, loop, and start adding stuff to. It's 120 BPM, and I tried to keep it pretty basic with the idea that it'd be easy to play along with and could go with almost anything.
PS: I can now add melodica and stylophone to my list of instruments I can contribute.
Update: I messed around with adding some delay to the original beat I posted and ended up with a "dancier" version. Feel free to use either or both - maybe they can be in different sections of the same song.
