I'm not really seeing a better difference, besides, the current is linked to a gif of the scene in question showing the whole thing anyway.
While I don't care for the gif link and the camera angle of current is bad, suggestion lacks the person coming through and more importantly, it looks like the robot is the barricade rather than the door.
Current:
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman
Well, Florence isn't shown going through the door, no. But I think the context is strong enough: He says, 'you can't go through there', and the next panel is her gone, the door open and him saying "I thought the door opened the other way". Clearly, she went through the door.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.2-panel comic > 3rd panel from comic > current.
The text reliancy downgrades it for me, so I'll vote neutral here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like that it has the barricaded character pointing out how ineffective it was. Here's a horizontal take. Crowner?

I think it's about equal to the current.
Check out my fanfiction!I say it's better than the current. My vote is for the b&w comic.
Seriously, the current is pretty shit. The barricade doesn't even cover both doors.
Stop caring and embrace nullness.Wouldn't that make it fit the trope better, in the poor planning part?

Check out my fanfiction!Relies entirely on the text. I vote no.
Disagree. The first panel is relevant. The punchline relies entirely on text, but the whole doesn't.
However, agree that it's not an improvement.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Good.
Check out my fanfiction! That's pretty good, too...what's it from?
The best movie ever made.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Funny, I was just about to say that pic reminded me of The Big Lebowski. Didn't actually think it was The Big Lebowski.
Moon◊We've got enough options for a crowner, so it's hooked.
The two frames are spliced together really poorly. I think the quality is too low. I'd rather stick with the current single-frame image.
Rhymes with "Protracted."What?! It is a lossless compression screencap of a 1280x688 source. The frames are not cropped, or manipulated besides slight color correction (brightened a little). "Low quality" seems impossible. Is the objection only that there is no gutter between them? I think it looks better without.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Pretty much, yeah, but also I don't think there's much you could do to make those two frames look good in sequence no matter how good you are at editing. The scene just wasn't shot that way.
Rhymes with "Protracted."When the frames come from the same shot, which arrangement looks better (space or not) is totally subjective, but more people seem to prefer none: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1295295432002654500&page=2

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I can't tell that the current one is supposed to be an obstruction - it looks more like someone just left it in an inconvenient spot (which isn't helped by the fact that it's the same colour as the door at a glance). So any of the others are better in that regard, favouring Freefall and the chair.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI really wanted to do a 2x2 of the Ma3 comic showing the setup and the lead-in to the punchline but it would've been NSFW.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I know that we put up the Buffy image not too long ago, but I'd like to suggest that either frame 2 and 3, or just 3 of this Freefall is much clearer. In the current image, it's difficult to tell that the card catalog is pushed right up against the doors; it could be several feet away from them.
