(*Breathes a sigh of relief*)

With that little screw-up resolved...

History-wise (and risking some unfortunate implications here), I can see why they chose the T28 as an "antagonist/final boss" tank. Had it entered production, it was meant to be used in Operation Downfall—a.k.a.: the invasion of Japan.

Anyway, will you be watching the Girls und Panzer movie (and to an extent Ars Nova Cadenza) once it's showing in local theaters? (Or do you just fly to Japan and watch the premiere there?)

Singapore was always a better bet, though the hilarious censoring done for Ars Nova DC was something to behold.

[up] Ah, since Singapore is (geographic-wise) relatively closer to Manila than Tokyo (not that it should stop you from going there, of course). Not to mention that they do host SE Asia's biggest anime festival (Anime Festival Asia) so it does make sense that it'll be one of the first to premiere an anime movie outside Japan.

A better movie PV with actual battle scenes included:

I'm hearing it's a limited edition release, so I wonder what the odds are that they'll roll out the BDs earlier than for a conventional movie or screen it outside of Japan, for that matter.

[up] The limited release they are talking about is the number of theaters the movie is shown across Japan which is 77(I think it already changed since then) which is considered small. The movie is scheduled to air for 4 weeks(November 21-December 18, 2015) if I'm not mistaken. Its total gross so far is ¥307,583,090 as of November 30, 2015.

The length of time for when the BD/DVD release for the movie will depend on how long they will have to re-touch/correct some scenes of the movie(if any).

Well, if you don't mind seeing the results of the confrontations in the movie, then click on this link.

Yeah, apparently Alice is kind of a Senshado monster, and very opportunistic. Also, LOL I can already imagine how the Hetzer took out the Karl Geralt.

Judging from only the line-up, I'd hazard a guess that they needed a dedicated harasser-scout for the team. And since the OTHER team had 3 M24 Chaffees, well...

I'd still take the information with a grain of salt; though things've been reasonably faithful for the most part, some details have been misrepresented. Better to wait for the home release.

[up][up][up] I spied a couple...err...a trio of M24 Chaffees on the University All-Stars Team lineup. And holy s***, that's a lot of Pershings... Pretty sure Saori would be fangirling if those weren't on the opposing team.

Also, when you said "field gun," I expected something like a Pak 43 on the high ground... (And if that were the case, I would have said, "What the Pak?") But a Karl-Gerat self-propelled howitzer? Scheiße!

That teamwork between Naomi (in a Sherman Firefly) and Darjeeling (in a Churchill). I see what they did there... (Tally-ho!) And I noticed that Koume (the girl Miho rescued) and Jagdpanther-chan (a.k.a.: Ritaiko) were in the Panthers?

By the way, is Mika a character from the Little Army manga? Been a while since I read it and my memory's a bit hazy, but that would make for a nice Call-Back.

The siege howitzer looks like something from a Metal Slug game. Heck, I thought they had a Metal Slug.

Now I'm not pretty versed with tanks, so the next logical question is are the M24 Chaffees some sort of speedy light tank that are used as recon or immediate blitz vehicles?

[up][up]Nope, Mika isn't a character in the Little Army manga. Though she and Continuation High School had been mentioned in OVA 6 and the Anzio OVA as foreshadowing that she was most likely will appear in the movie.

Also, I want to correct myself. Looks like the GUP movie will still run on some Japanese theaters up until the end of January of next year if I'm interpreting the Theater page on the GUP website right.

@Jamibu: A rewatch seems to be in order. Oh well.

Or better yet, I hope it gets shown earlier than the official Blu-Ray release in Japan. Fingers crossed that Odex gets to release it in SE Asia.

[up] The GUP movie being shown outside of Japan sooner than the official Japanese BD/DVD release might not happen since it might get a problem with copyright again. Katyusha instrumental version is in the movie, and we all know what happened when Crunchyroll released GUP episode 8 and 9. I think Japan might make a version of the GUP movie without the Katyusha instrumental that will be released outside of Japan though that will be after the Japanese BD/DVD release.

Also, ODEX might not get the movie for the South East Asia theatrical release, aside from the copyright problem, is that the GUP TV series hasn't aired on SEA yet, AFAIK.

[up][up] I'm keeping all fingers crossed that you're right, and that my predictions are far later than they should be. There's really no reason for not releasing the BDs as soon as their done preparing the home release edition, and I'm counting on that, given so much effort already went into the movie, the home release prep will be much, much shorter.

There's only one reason why I was hoping that it would get shown before the Japanese Blu-Ray/DVD release, but yeah, that would be too much to expect. I did see one comment on Odex's Facebook page asking whether they'd get the rights to the GuP movie.

Although yes, most of the anime I watch are from fansubs, if there are anime movies of series that I like enough and they get shown in my neck of the woods, then I'd gladly watch them in the theater. (Case in point: Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova DC and the Love Live! movie.) And if I can't, Plan B is to buy related merchandise (e.g.: Manga, Gunpla and Nendoroids).

I was under the impression that the whole copyright thing with "Katyusha" seems to be limited to the US alone (according to the Trivia page), although I wouldn't mind specifics like, "Who's currently owning the copyright to 'Katyusha' in the US?"

As for the GuP TV series still not showing in SEA, I wonder if its because Animax-Asia is still deliberating on whether to use the Crunchyroll/Sentai version of the show (which cut out the Russian songs) or the original version of the show with their own (or modified) subs?

@Hoki: The Chaffee is a quick little light tank with a similar gun to the regular Sherman's 75mm M3 and technically armor. From what I understand, it'd probably stop bullets, but nothing that would have "cannon" in the name.

Should've checked the list.

Another thing about the Karl-Gerat, which has gotten some criticism from more nitpicky watchers, is the fact that it a) loads ridiculously fast compared to its real-life counterpart and b) it's also laser-accurate. It's another thing that said people use to point that MEXT are a bunch of cheating bastards, because there's no way it could have performed the way it did against the High school team.

Some people clearly have issues with Rule of Cool here.

[up][up] 4:31 - I'm amazed at how that elevated rail line was able to hold the entire weight of that Leopold widescreen.

5:11 - Is that a Kubelwagen? (Left-hand side of the road.)

Those Chihatan girls and their "Attack! Attack! Attack!" shtick... XD And Rabbit Team trying to pull off that trick they did with Kuromorimine's Jagdtiger against Nonna and her IS-2... (Nope! Not gonna work this time!) That "Gununu" reaction from Karina (I assume) made it even more hilarious.

So for context, was that supposed to be the rematch between Miho and Darjeeling, or is that the practice match between all the high school teams before going up against the University All-Stars Team? (Or a bit of both?)

Also, is that a darker olive drab (than the one usually used on US vehicles) on Pravda's tanks? I dunno if the Russians (OK, Soviets) had a name for that color scheme.

EDIT: And oh wow, Clara is voiced by a native Russian speaker. She's quite the looker, too. (Though I first thought that was Yoshino Nanjou's voice. So much for a potential Casting Gag...)

[up] Man, not even 720p... (Though I thought that's just YouTube messing with the YouTube Center app on my browser.)
