Well, that's pretty much what Final Fantasy X is; Tidus, despite being the viewpoint character, is a male Mysterious Waif while Yuna is a female Magnetic Hero.

Actually, we do have a plotbunny thread. It does sound good, but let me reiterate that you are not, by any means, 'bothering' us by asking questions. That is what Writer's Block is for.
