Well, it's Truth in Television sometimes, like just about any psychological trope that has basis in reality, but not nearly as frequently as in stories. They tend to exaggerate it to make a point, or to move the plot or a character in a certain direction. It's definitely a trope, since it is a device for storytelling.

Im new here and im still learning how to work on this site. I wanna complain about the trope Rape Leads to Insanity ; its bugs me in something. I know its says no real life examples, but, is this trope Truth in Television? i asked this two times already, but did it on the wrong page, sorry about that^^;
