What Music Pops Into Your Head For A Given Situation?

I bet a lot of us have a specific music track just come into our head when something happens. Or maybe nothing has to happen for a music track to just pop in there!

Here's an example:

One You Tube comment has this to say about the clip:

This song plays when my boss calls and wants me to cover someone's shift. I can't remember if I picked it because it's boss music (lol) or if I picked it because I hate working unplanned hours.

If I was in that guy's situation, I'd probably have some music track that has "doom" written all over it just play in my head!

At a grocery store I used to work at, I had a supervisor who would always whistle "Entrance Of The Gladiators" (you know, that Standard Snippet that's associated with circuses) when we were slammed with customers, and a coworker who would sometimes sing part of the chorus of "Madhouse" by Anthrax under the same circumstances. So now either of these songs tend get in my head whenever I'm some place hectic and crowded, which usually means a train at rush hour.

Sometimes Ace Attorney music and stuff.

There used to be this old timey hat shop by where I live. Every time I walked past, the Baccano theme started playing in my head. Sadly, it went out of business. Probably because we don't have any mobsters to buy hats there.

This song is basically my sister's "Theme" for me. At least when she gets angry. Or at least the better SNES version is, but I can't find that.

When I think about My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and the possibility of Tirek the Dark Centaur reappearing in the franchise, I imagine him holding a fiery sword and an icy sword and this music would play:

It probably wouldn't ever happen, but hey, I can dream, can't I?

When my stepmother starts treating me like crap (I'm not kidding!), or I think about things she's done to me, I think of two songs. I either think of "Sometimes" by Skillet, which is kind of her perspective, or I think of "It's Not Me It's You", also by Skillet, which is my perspective.

This is my "exam song" — I saw the movie just before the first college exam, and, well, it just comes back to my mind whenever I have to take a test:

Some music that would pop into my head:

Sky Tower (La Mulana Original) would play when things are awful grim.

On the case of a happy idle, the music of the wizard theme from Wizards and Warriors 3 would play.

When angered, Giant's Rage (La Mulana Original) would play in my skull.

When things are going sorrowfully bad, Treasure Sealed Off (La Mulana Original yet again) will go.

When on a crusade of victory, my mind goes to Keep Moving (Level 1 music of Robo Warrior).

When deep in an enemy's section, the tower music from Deadly Towers goes.

Wandering somewhere? Phantasy Star's Tower theme goes.

When Oh Crap ensues? Cue Cladun x2's underworld 8-bit to play.

I'm sorry for bringing that up, here are some songs that pop into my head for happier situations:

Any song by Skillet.

The Smile Song from My Little Pony (yeah I like that cartoon ).

Any epic sounding part of a soundtrack.

Don't worry pal! There's a number of us out there who think My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic is great!

In fact, when I think about the people out there who keep dismissing works with Tastes Like Diabetes elements as worthless kiddie trash, I think of this music:

Why? Because works like Kirby get underestimated too often, and music like this would shatter their little prejudices to million pieces!

When bored or idle, it's not uncommon to find me tapping out or humming the tune of either the Doctor Who main theme or the theme to World 1-1 of the original Super Mario Bros Very, very poorly.

When I run through the downtown part of a city, this plays in my head:

I think it's because the situation reminds me of the level in MDK 2 where Kurt is running through an alien city and being pursued by an alien ship!

When I think about My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, and the possibility of Princess Celestia pulling a Face–Heel Turn, this music plays in my head:

This kind of music would suit her, because it gives the feeling of going up against a dangerous sun god(dess)!
