My school tried to get us onto something called Kaleidos for a couple years. It was meant to have all our courses on it, a way for students to collaborate on projects, easy contact with teachers, social space, etc.. In reality, all the teachers hated it, we students avoided using it as much as possible, and it was clunky and hard to navigate.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. My Economics teacher uses it. I signed up due to being a class requirement and never touched it again.
Everything happens for a reason. The reason is a chaotic intersection of chance and the laws of physics.I think the closest thing my school uses to the concept is Google, for their docs, calendars, websites, and other stuff. While even the most oldschool teachers have their own Google site and calendar to post assignments and test dates and stuff and can utilize email, only a few scattered teachers use anything else.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Sounds similar to Blackboard.
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -Drunkscriblerianmy college uses blackboard. I fn hate it.
"Psssh. Even if you could catch a miracle on a picture any person would probably delete it to make space for more porn." - AszurThat sounds a bit similar to MyGradebook.com, a site where teachers posted grades (and possibly other stuff. I don't know, I never really used the site), in that several of my teachers didn't bother with it (good thing too, I didn't like my parents seeing my F's).
Also, my old college used something like it on their own website. I only really had to use it a few times (mostly for Psych 101 since the professor assigned quizzes on it).

So, in the U.S., randomly stripping is a signal that you want to sing the national anthem? - That HumanWe have a Virtual Learning Environment. This sounds cool, but its not. Its basically an online forum/file-directory that keeps track of your personal self (you can see your attendance, for example), and you can access any work that the teacher has set.
Our school started using Edmodo last year, but I never had to use it until now. And even then I don't use it much. Though, some of my other teachers are just using Facebook in place of Edmodo.
My school uses Moodle. It's pretty lame; it tends to go down a lot.
My school used to use something called Lisol, but dropped it for another system.
FIMFiction Account MLPMST PageEnglish teacher mentioned this yesterday. She doesn't want to use it.
My school started using it last year.
Hasn't really helped at all. In fact, I hate using it because my teachers create assignments where we don't have to turn anything in and it just gets annoying. The calendar is confusing and hard to use.
noMy university used Blackboard, and I have been the teaching assistant for a couple of courses that used it. Also, I have used it as a student a few years ago.
Using it as a TA is even more annoying that using it as a student, impossible though it may seem. Inserting the grades in that thing was a nightmare.

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas. In a strange twist, so does my college!
And let us pray that come it may (As come it will for a' that)My school uses Moodle too. Looks like a Microsoft creation.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Ah! So does mine!
It's pretty decent here, I guess.
Two teachers I have use Edmodo it's alright but I don't have a fierce love for it.
and I've heard of Moodle weird.

My school has this thing called Infinite Campus. It's supposed to also be used for messages, but in practice it's just grades. That's pretty much the only way to know your grades because sometimes they don't even remember to give 6 week progress reports. Also, my mom doesn't even remember her password so it doesn't really do its job. My middle school used Edline, where you could post homework and documents and such.
For grades, my school district used to use Edline, but then we switched to Powerschool. Both have assignment notification capabilities that none of my teachers have really utilized. My mom didn't really get how to use Powerschool, and she accidentally set it so that it sends me email breakdowns of my grades not only for myself, but also my sister. As much as I love my little sister, I don't really care about her grades. But the emails that are sent are accurate only for her; for me, they don't show any assignments or might only show one no matter how often they've been updated or how many assignments we've done that quarter.
Aside from that, it works most of the time and does its job. My only other gripe is that you can't change your password and you're stuck using their random case-sensitive combination of alphanumerics.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."
So today my brother told me about this thing his high school has. It's kind of like... a shool-based Facebook, sort of. Teachers give students students assignments through it, and can update parents or guardians on stuff with it.
The entire school is supposed to be using it, but according to him half the teachers find it clunky and not worth the effort. I'd agree, but eh.
Any of you high school Tropers using this thing?
