Man, 9/11. I can't believe it.

It's been, what, 20, 21 years? I can't recall, yet people are still rioting and making a fuss outside. *sigh* fuckin' hell, man. When are they gonna let go of this?

... Wait, what?... Oh. OH, you mean the Twin Towers thing, oh, I'm sorry, I was talking about the anniversary of the military dictatorship here in Chile, which people riot for every year. Even though it's been more than 20 years since it ended.

In a more serious note, someone made one joke about 9/11 on my twitter and suddenly BOOM everyone's been arguing over it all day. It's aggravating -.-'

It's been 11 years, and it still rubs me the wrong way when people make jokes about it. And I was just a toddler when it happened.

9/11 was inside job, perpetrated by the homosexual Jewish Satanist communists who secretly control the world.

Predictably, my family's Facebook is full of posts about how 9/11 happened because the nation isn't Christian enough.

Well that depends on when and what kind!

I mean, if it suddenly became more 'Christian' the month before, that probably wouldn't change anything.

But say, the change happened before the Cold War, then maybe.

And depending on what "Christian" means, it could make it better or worse.

There's a point of view that God allowed it to happen in order to startle the nation's quasi-faithful out of complacency. Whether that was the intent or not, it did have that effect.

It's certainly up there on the short list of national tragedies. Few people can see that video footage without being moved.

I know I can't. Any file footage of wars and other tragedies I get blubbery at (it's impossible for me to disconnect when I know there are people really dying while I watch) , but the 9/11 footage is particularly... I don't know. Beautiful I guess? In the worst way.

It's not quite my earliest memory, but it's definitely one of the first.

I was five years old at the time. My mom got me out of bed and put me in front of the TV to watch the live footage. I distinctly remember seeing the second plane hit.

George Lucas didn't ruin my childhood, BIN LADEN DID. Seriously, he stole our Pokemans and DBZ, even stealing away the daily Simpsons 6pm rerun which was an Aussie tradition the bastard!

This 9/11 was to my generation what the Kennedy Assassination must have been like to baby boomers. It's also responsible for me finding out that real life explosions not found in Michael Bay and Die Hard movies are not as awesome as they initially sounded.

9/11 confirmed my belief that 11-12 year olds don't always stay evil, but 11-12 year olds are pure evil without even knowing it.

I remember getting a call from my sister. She said "some guy had just flown a little 'plane into a skycraper".

I put the news on while I was talking to her and saw the footage and said to her "Uh, that's not a little 'plane...". The second aircraft hit right as I said that.

I don't really remember much about that day at all. Probably because I was like... 9 when it happened. XD
