Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan (Manga Discussion)

You know, at this point I'd kinda like if the Shifters (and Krista) escaped with Eren. If only because I want to find out what the deal is behind their superiors.

I want to know more about the relationships between the shifters. We already know that Bert might have a crush on Annie. But there's more. For example, i always had the feeling that Reiner and Annie might be related (siblings, half-siblings, cousins e.t.c.).

Sections of Tumblr seem to think that Ymir's lying about needing Kristoria as a get-out-of-jail-free card in order to manipulate Krista's issues to turn her into a willing hostage.

x3 Oh yeah. They'd better succeed in kidnapping Eren and succeed in moving the plot forward, damn it!

Is there a trope for that? When you want the bad guy's plan to go through, not because you're Rooting for the Empire but because it will make the story more interesting?

I got that feeling as well.

Right now, my personal theory is that Eren's dad is the coordinate or whoever BRA was out to find.

For me, the plot element that is the toughest to analyze is why an enemy so powerful and scary, that Ymir and the Wall cult is scared shitless of them, would send kids to do the work. So, right now, I'm thinking that to BRA's bosses, locating the coordinate is actually not at all important to them and was just some sort of punishment for BRA's families.

A couple of days ago, I was mentally wrestling with a very corny theory that Eren's dad is from the outside and also a shifter. One day, his buddies convinced him to join them on an excursion into those walls (to visit the local girls). Of course, he had to go and fall in love with one of them.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW ALREADY WHAT'S GOING ON!!!

Villains Act, Heroes React. Most plots move on like this.

Yeah, I've been kind of thinking about the fact that they entrusted this supposedly-important mission to a bunch of emotionally unstable kids. It was either because they figured children would be easier to indoctrinate, and easier to keep in line through threats and fear.......or they're merely a distraction for something much worse.

They got the power to instantly turn a group of humans into Titans, they don't need to indoctrinate anyone. Also, it took years for BRA to get the job done.

Plus, it looks like Monkey Trouble just wanted to tell BR - okay, you can get your butts home now (and that's why (according to Ymir) they look so happy. Even Bert said - We can go home now!)

So, for now, until we get more goddamn clues, I think BRA's case is similar to Ymir's. Their families did something to upset whoever's in charge, and so they got to do stuff to prove their loyalty and appease them.

Oh shit, I'm going to let my brain vomit out the following (cause NOT knowing is driving me nuts!)

Ymir's group or village is thralls-subordinates to BRA's village, who RULES THEM ALL cause of Titan power abilities. For the sake of her village, Ymir steals the power (maybe it's a serum or they captured one of the shifters, etc.). Anyway, she figures out how to turn into a Titan, but the Big Bad knows what they did and so Ymir and her entire village is punished via turning them all into mindless-type Titans who don't even get to have nice dreams-type Lotus-Eater Machine, but the nightmare-variety.

Fast forward, something similar happens with BRA's families. Maybe they have something to do with Eren's dad or the Wall Cult (or both). Maybe they expressed a wee bit too much sympathy with the "within the wall" humans. Maybe they helped faked Eren's dad's death so he could go live in the walls with his One True Love. Anyway, they did something to pissed off the Big Bad.

The Outside Guidebook is going to sell hundreds of thousands of copies, too, mainly cause Shingeki fans are going nuts for anything to give them an idea of who the real enemies are.

It will sell millions of copies, and still leave us going WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! You know it to be true.

I wonder what this says about us fans who keep reading it no matter what.

So the next episode will probably end with the Female Titan being devoured by the other Titans? I mean I originally thought it would end with her capture, but is it really possible to paddle an entire episode for so long? As far as I know the only scene before her capture is Eren's decision and that whole trust flashback.

Also, Sasha Blouse is new mascot of Denny's.

At the current rate this episode is going to be 2/3 flashback.

If the episode is 20-25 min. long, I can't see why not. A few flashbacks, fight scenes and inner monologues can easily fill it up.

Well, if they are going to end it with the Female Titan being attacked, they have to fill it with something. Let's just hope it's fight scenes instead of flashbacks.

Methinks the flashback + Eren's decision + Female Titan captured and aftermath + Last scene of the FT roaring for help is enough to fill out an episode decently.

Can't argue with that. Though I'd like it if a decent fight scene is thrown into the mix.

We do have that random dude vs Female Titan while Eren is having an internal debate.

Yeah, well, that battle wasn't really intense.

Meh, he held out much longer than everyone else against her.

I like those flashbacks...They have Hanji-antics and lampshading that biting your hand hard enough to draw blood freaking hurts. And my tentative guess is ending with the capture, even though I really want to get this arc over with.

Ep. 19 "Bite" (噛みつく Kamitsuku?) same title as Chapter 25 (vol. 6)

Chapter 26 "The Expedient Path" (好都合な道を Kōtsugō na Michi o?) (end of Vol. 6) this will probably be included with Ep. 19

Ep. 20 "Erwin Smith" (エルヴィン・スミス Eruvin Sumisu?) same title as Chapter 27 (Vol. 7)

Next episode (this week's episode) will probably end with Female Titan getting captured.

Next week's episode is when it will get other titans to eat it.
