Steam Greenlight by its very nature is doomed to failure. Valve will keep tweaking it until it behaves like the Kickstarter / Indie Gogo model.
And then what will be the point?
Jonah FalconSources, please. This is why we have a hard time believing you: you never cite anything you say. You keep throwing this doomsaying around, but it seems to be unfounded and based on little evidence. In fact, when I said that the downvote button being a bad idea was good criticism, I said that partially because I had heard Total Biscuit argue against it rather logically.
^^Yes, he is conflating the two, it seems. As far as we know, it probably just removes it from your queue and doesn't actually downvote it.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelSeriously, the fuck? I DID told you guys that the "downvote" button is now "Not interested" button! Before, the argument makes sense, but not now! The new button now just remove it from YOUR queue...

Give me cute or give me...something?Hey, don't say it in plural, JAF is the one arguing about it
^ Sorry, it's just...that button has been changed for a while already, I don't know why are we even still argue about it...
Give me cute or give me...something?It's not your fault, onyhow, JAF was stating an opinion without much to back it up.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelActually, to Valve's defense, Greenlight has been nothing but "let the people vote". I don't think Valve pretended it to be anything else.
Signatures are for lamers.I've just realized that the first batch of greenlit games has popped up. Lots of representation for the first person genre. I'm pretty sure I upvoted all of these, though, so I'm happy. Yesterday, Black Mesa was at 47%, so it seems like they're going with games that have lots of support, as opposed to having to make a full 100%.
Towns got Greenligthed! Great! An excelent game now on for Steam! Everyone who already owns the game will receive a free Steam key for it and now that they have been greenlighted, they want to make Crosspromotional hats.
Well, that's good, then.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelTowns is one of the games I was really hoping for, so it's cool to see it greenlit.
I wasn't going to poke my nose into this until I noticed Shantae plopped on the service. I always wanted to play it but the lack of a Game Boy Color and/or D Si always saw fit to thwart me. Hmm... I'm gonna have to go back to the first page and see what else my fellow tropers have their eye on.

Bleye knows Sabers.^ Do you have iOS? Shantae is also on that system...
Give me cute or give me...something?And now in the queue we also have The Stanley Parable... IN HD!

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Yeah, here is a quick link for the Shantae greenlight page.
Okay The Stanley Parable HD is an instant yes and favorite. Also the FAQ is awesome and very fitting.
So why you guys mentioned only towns the game without any animations at the moment since its at alpha? I mean, there are ten others(Including Black Mesa and Project Zomboid) that got greenlit too.
I marked all but one of the successfully greenlit games as "uninterested". Heh.
Was it Zomboid? o.o
Cool, Heroes and Generals, Kenshi, and Routine made it! So the community does have a sense of taste after all!
I only upvoted Kenshi. I was torn on Dream, so I opted to downvote it. Everything else simply wasn't my cup of tea.
Now if only NEO Scavenger and Unepic and La-Mulana and other few sprite games gets greenlighted
^ Also need Bunny Must Die to be greenlighted!
Also...yay Zomboid!
Give me cute or give me...something?Yeah, real variety there.
- Grimdark Zombie Apocalypse.
- Grimdark Zombie Apocalypse.
- Grimdark Zombie Apocalypse.
- Grimdark Zombie Apocalypse.
Four of them! Woo!
Yeah, there's too many Slender Man games and not enough Zombie Apocalypse games, right?

Jonah Falcon
Wait, you are referring "I'm not interested this so don't show it to me so I can find other projects" button same as downvoting?
