For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

Diary of a Serial Killer
The title of tonight's feature reminds me of another film I suggested previously, Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer.

somethingI was first reminded of Diary of a Madman—Vincent Price movie () or Ozzy Osbourne album, take your pick.
Alright... So, we'll get things started with more new content from Retsupurae and and Lowtax, plus another shot of retro 90's gaming on Gamesmaster.
Then, at the top of the coming hour, Gary Busey and Michael Madsen star in Diary of a Serial Killer.

I didn't hate the movie despite thinking the main character was a total fucking dumbass. Seriously, just get a god damn recording device and record the killer's confession. Problem solved. You got evidence. Movie over. Okay, I guess that's why he didn't do it.
Tonight, Jack Lemmon and James Garner are ex-US Presidents and political rivals forced to cooperate on an unlikely adventure, loaded with socio-political humor and commentary, to expose the corrupt current President, played by Dan Aykroyd.
Let's see how well this one holds up over 20 years later: My Fellow Americans
You know, the more I think about last night's movie, the more the Idiot Plot aspects get to me. I still enjoyed it, but I suddenly remembered something.
The main character knows this guy he's with is a serial killer, right? In addition to not secretly recording a conversation with him, he also doesn't even go to the cops. And of course, the killer is too stupid to do anything about the guy who knows his secret. So we got two idiots here playing the major roles in the story, whose stupid behavior are what enable the plot to work. A textbook definition of an Idiot Plot.
But I thought back to something else. I used to read true crime stories back in the early 2000s. One true crime story happened in the 1960s. A man who was planning to commit a murder, had become friends with a troubled teenage boy, seeing the boy as the perfect accomplice and buddy. When the boy seemed to imply that he didn't care about humanity at all, the man interpreted it not as typical teenage anger, but rather as the boy being seriously psychopathic - which he wasn't.
So the man and his girlfriend kidnapped and tortured someone, with the teenage boy along for the ride.
You know what the teen did?
He told the cops.
The two killers were arrested, and there was a mountain of evidence to convict them.
And yet, here we have an adult protagonist who's too fucking stupid to call the cops or do anything to deal with this serial killer he keeps interacting with. No hidden recording, no Engineered Public Confession, and no calling the cops. He just lets it get to the point where he can easily be falsely accused of a murder himself - and as much as I despise injustice in real life (a major reason I hate bullying: the bullies almost never get in trouble and the victim does), I found it impossible to care about this dumbass's plight. I find it hard to believe that these events could ever play out in real life, so my injustice trigger fails to activate.
Another exhausting day.
We'll kick off festivities tonight with more from Retsupurae and Lowtax, and another old episode of Electric Playground (Hey, remember Vigilante 8?).
Then, at the top of the coming hour, Jack Lemmon and James Garner are two ex-Presidents on a wacky, romping, stomping adventure in 'My Fellow Americans''.

In a rush... Just copy/pasting a synopsis from Wikipedia.
I really don't know how to describe this. "Guerrilla Filmmaking Mockumentary"???
The entire film was shot in only thirteen days, in Los Angeles and in Montreal during and with the cooperation of the actual 2003 Montreal World Film Festival. Festival organizers gave the filmmakers access to all festival events and locations, and even programmed a screening for the film-within-a-film during which festival-goers screened an assembly cut of the film, and got to "play" the audience in the screening scene as it was being shot.
With Seth Meyers and Jon Cho, here's See This Movie.
The only thing I found that even remotely resembles a trailer cannot be embedded in this post.

Errrrrrrrrrr...
Was this made before or after Seth Meyers got into SNL?
No.
This was made in a nearly 2-week span during his 13-year association with SNL.
Just got back and just finished dinner. The pre-show got some relaxing Bob Ross painting, and a show that asks the all important question, What Would You Do?
Tonight's movie is See This Movie.

Well, it got ★★. Split between two 3s, two 2s, and I was the sole 1. It just didn't do anything for me.
would someone mind moving the three videos that I left in the aftershow down for tomorrow's aftershow as well? Except for the Cinema Snob review, which I can switch up, but everything else hasn't been seen yet.

Love tearing bad movies to shreds? Join us every night at 8 PMOh, Ho-Oh-HOOOOOoooooooo....
This Kung Fu Friday, we're dragging out another obscure flick brought to us, naturally, by PM Entertainment. Richard Pepin and Joseph Merhi, you guys are like the Golan-Globus of direct-to-video 90's action movies.
Here's Sword of Honor.
It comes to my attention that we haven't seen the mess of a sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic. We should probably remedy it.

Kicking off Kung Fu Friday with a double-dose of mXc, followed at the top of the coming hour with the 90's action B-movie flick Sword of Honor.

Fun for the whole family tonight (not really)! Two thumbs up from Siskel & Ebert (including a "glowing" 3-and-a-half star written review from Ebert) in one of the darkest, grimmest stories ever focused on a pathological killer (who, in real life, was probably more of a pathological liar, but there's no point getting too deep into that topic; the guy wasn't very pleasant all the same).
Here's Michael Rooker starring as Henry Lee Lucas in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
I'm starting a playlist, and then I need to find food to eat.
Lowtax now. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer later.

Stephen King called Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer one of the scariest uniquely American horror movies. Huh.
Got a real treat to look forward to tonight: 1994's Timecop, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mia Sara, and Ron Silver from last weekend's extra-shitty Wisher movie in one of his better, more memorable roles. Fun times.
Which Dinosaur Island did we watch? 'cause I found one from 2014 that looks like to be a glorious trainwreck.

I would love the idea of having a chart like that, along with quotes from Tropers who've commented on the movie! This is a great project!
