Have to point out "slowed down" is a relative term. The video is still getting several million views a day.
While two billion views by the end of the year is unlikely, it's still in the realm of possibility.

Even then, I don't think it's that moment you mentioned which would do it. It's more like just that the meme has reached a point of such high saturation that people would tire of it.
