The Unionists, according to the BBC. They've just done a report describing the chaos as a co-ordinated two-pronged charge by the Unionists.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Bloody hell.
"Yup. That tasted purple."...didn't they get what they wanted in the first place?
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerSo...where are the riot police? The pricks who started this could use a bit of tear gas to calm them down.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Yeah, but Illuminati. -wiggles fingers- O Ooooo O Ooooo OO Oooo.
It's confusing.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesPeople like to gloat.
This basically is a football riot gone large.
"Yup. That tasted purple."It seems that the police managed to break it up pretty quickly.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI'm not sure if it's still ongoing or not. I know people on the ground there who were suggesting that it was going on long after 9pm, and indeed derisively laughing at the BBC's suggestion it was dealt with so promptly.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Well, riots or near-riots would have to happen regardless of whose side won. Especially since it's such a divisive issue.
Bloddy Orange Order...
I'll say this for the separatists, I've been a big critic of Salmond but he's taken his defeated very well and in a grown up fashion, I can't fault him or the Yes campaign on that.
Now I'm sure there are nutters within the Yes campaign throwing a stink, but as it seems to be relegated to the fringe elements in both camps (Orange Order on the No side), I'm going to call this one a clash between sane people and nutters wanting a fight, not Yes and No.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranFrom what I've seen in the media the Yes side didn't get beyond passive-aggressive graffiti.
"Yup. That tasted purple."IIRC, there was a lot of heckling and threats at Yes and No campaign rallies (with a lot of No rallies having to be ended early).
The NUJ also criticised both sides for harassing journalists.

TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI leave here seeing congrats and wondering the way forward (and the occasional sore loser) and I come back and...chaos?
Can anyone summarize what's happening?
Riots
Oh really when?<headdesk> I get that. I mean is this growing, receding, widespread, isolated, what?

Fairly isolated, all things considered.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I hear it's gonna kick off again. hooligans are coming up by bus and an Orange March is planned. People are advising each other to stay the fuck out of the city centre.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Tell them not to march, kettle them when they do, and give them a long-weekend in Bar-L.
Job done.
@Shinra
It's not quite generalized national "chaos", its a minority of arseholes in one city. If you want to know more about why this is happening, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sectarianism_in_Glasgow
EDIT: This video has been viewed a quarter of a million times on YT. It purports to show "British managers stuffing box". But what are all these Russian comments?! And why is there a big red and gold crest◊ on the front of the ballot box?! It's depressing to think someone actually did that; someone actually sat there uploading an old piece of footage from a genuinely thieved election and lying about it - though there seems to be some suggestion from the Google Translated comments that this is actually Russia's anonymous doing some feeble trolling.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiSo the Heil has dedicated a two-page spread to Salmond's exit.
But they're totally not gloating or anything.
"Yup. That tasted purple."In fairness, it is huge news and kinda deserves two-page spread. But I doubt the Heil will treat it respectfully.
Incidentally, despite the usual suspects complaining of "media blackout", even the Mail has run a nice photopiece on the pro-Union riots.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiJudge for yourself. (Usual raft of NSFW photos in the sidebar.)
"Yup. That tasted purple."The union flag in the hands of fascist skinhead scum? Surely not...?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'
That was actually a lot more measured than I expected. It did have a bit of a tinge, but it wasn't the usual Mail ranting. I thought the most interesting bit was this:
His press conference, at which he announced his resignation, had been due to start at 10am but at midday officials announced it would be ‘invitation only’.
The Times, The Sun in Scotland, the Herald, Dundee Courier, Daily Record, PA, BBC and Sky were invited while the Mail, Financial Times, Telegraph and Express were barred and The Guardian boycotted the event.
If this is true, then good for the Guardian.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiAh okay. I had only been going by this particular thread's comments and had been worried. Seems okay though, all things considered.
@ Deadbeat: Quite. There's little sanity even in everyday Real Life, As You Know.
